Very subtly done. Your subtle reminder to the poster that this is indeed, a Jackson Browne cover, not a Nico cover. I love Nico's cover, but this song was written by Jackson Browne when he was only 15 years old (!!!), assuming the perspective of his grandfather. Such a tremendous song, such a talented lyricist.... True that it was his song, but this IS a cover of Nico's "version". Her version has the verses in a different order as well as additional verses that weren't in the OG.
? This song is by a female German singer-songwriter named Nico born in 1938, died from a biking accident at age 49 in 1988.
My prediction - if she stays healthy and artistically active, Miley's going to be one of those artists, like Dolly Parton, where it's later in life that people are going to really get how awesome she is.

Old folks like me know the Nico version, the Gregg Allman's rearranged version, and Jackson Browne's recording of Allman's version but kept his own ending lyrics. I prefer Allman's but it really doesn't matter much. It is an incredible song. Appreciate you pointing this out!

Wonderful singing. You can see and hear her skill and experience. I like the song, the voice, the steel guitar, even the dress. Not the gloves. It's a good song, and Miley moves well, too. The sound and the camerawork are excellent.

I love her look and her sound "these days." As a matter of fact, I haven't had a haircut since the pandemic started; my hair is down my back and I'm looking forward to a Miley mullet! The only fault with this song is perhaps it's a bit soon in her young career. Writer Jackson Browne and also Gregg Allman had versions which were deeper and more believable, simply because WISDOM comes with AGE. Do it again in 25 years, Miley and it might win you a Grammy!!! I'm sure your comment makes perfect sense as Jackson is in his seventies and Greg is dead. But what you have to bear in mind is Jackson Browne wrote it when he was SIXTEEN years old.
@@ianhampton1208 That I did not know. Thanks for the trivia. I have never heard a recording of Jackson singing it on a recording at sixteen, unless I mistook his voice for an older one. It is one of my favorite songs and I'm aging. That is a great piece of info. I appreciate you filling me in.
No worries. It's unlikely there is a Browne version of the song from when he wrote it. While he started writing very young and became a staff writer at a record label at 18, he didn't manage to get a recording contract till he was about 23. You can get an idea of his early life on the road and his attempts to get into the industry on autobiographical songs like Running On Empty and Barricades Of Heaven.

Loveeeed this Unplugged special. I went from having Gimme More as my fav to Communication to now These Days is my favorite 💜 Her country roots really come out here and her vocals are so silky smooth. @Theresa Heyer... no, Miley sang the last line with the exact words that Jackson had written. When Greg Allman recorded this song he changed the last line to “I’m aware of them”. If you play any of the umpteen JB versions on You Tube, you’ll hear it.
