There is such an amazing story behind this song. The world came to know about Captain Tom at the start of the 2020 Pandemic. Tom, at the age of 99, wanted to raise £1000 for the UK's NHS by walking around his house 100 times. By the time his feat came to an end, he had raised in excess of £33,000,000. He became a "Sir" in late 2020 when he was Knighted by The Queen. He was honoured by the British army who made him "Honorary Colonel".
Sadly in February 2021, Captain Sir Tom Moore passed away, surrounded by his loving family, having succumbed to Covid-19.
After following Tom's story since his amazing rise to fame and, saddened to hear of his untimely passing, I decided to take a closer look at, the many words of wisdom that helped make him "A National and International Treasure".
I became inspired by his intellect, his wisdom and, his incredible positivity.
The only way that I knew how to honour this amazing gentleman was, through music.
I put together this song, incorporating a few of Tom's most frequently used quotes.
The song is recorded live (in my kitchen) acoustically, with nothing but myself, my guitar and some delay/reverb.
This song will most definitely be given the full studio / orchestral production as soon as the Pandemic restrictions are lifted.
