After the last two community crunches, I'm disappointed with the BTT Aberration creature, as it is both a rip off of a community members work, and seems pay to win with its web slinging, I was looking forward to a balanced shoulder pet but now I just think aberration will be made easy.
it isnt a rip off in any way. And about the pay to win aspect we will have to wait and see. it will probably be limited due to spiders not being able to retract their webs
Aberration, is a very special map. It's my #1 map in the game. 1000s of hours into it on it's own. My biggest fear of all, is the visuals. UE5 has the potential to be stunning. That being said I fear that they'll use the same sandstone rock formation textures to create Ab, the same ones they've used for Island, Center and Scorched. I think those maps it was suited, but going forward I think they can be mostly left behind in favor of the old gray returning. I hope we'll finally get the gray texturing back and the same color system and vibrance that ASE had. If they nail the visuals and maintain the balance.... this will be a massive turning point win for ASA. A lot is at stake if they ruin this map.
Ive seen people theorizing the bobs tall tales creature will be related to protecting you from the radiation like how the Oasisaur protects you from the weather but i personally think it’ll be something that has to do with light pets since it’d be easy to implement and adding a light pet or light pet related creature is kinda hard to make overpowered yet likely to be cute so people will love it
@@GenDrake3 true, but they could do something like having a larger light coverage, so a tribe can be protected, or even something like it passively damages reaper queens down to the health they need to impregnate, making for easier taming, which is possible without and doesn't give a huge advantage
@@rakethemsealsit would be incredibly disappointing if the bobs tall tales dino turned out to be a big light pet while I do think the dino should be charge related draining a reapers health is kinda pointless since it’s not very hard to do it as long as you have charge although I think the dino should be rideable and maybe able to charge generators similar to how the pyromane powers torches and stuff and the dino could also be able to harvest charge directly from the charge nodes and work as basically a transportable generator because aberration doesn’t really need another big op dino and I think a utility dino that can power bases is more important mid game because of how rare oil is on the map
Ab was revolutionary for Ark back in the day. It was the coolest and most varied map on release, the Island was buggy and while it was the image of Ark it was quickly becoming outdated. The Center was too modded for many and was just an eh map, while scorched earth was amazing imo but was is only one biome and so many didn't like it. Aberration had so much, and was the first time the lore became important and affected the amazing creatures we got. Hopefully it does the same for Ascended

Abberation is my favorite map. It really locks you down to the map whereas others you can freely come aswell as go easily. This one makes you work for it unless you know it. One of the maps where you actually need to know tricks, and other things to succeeded up until you master the map, and get the mobility of a rockdrake.
The thing I loved most about aberration was that it provided an experience that could only physically be achieved on aberration, the map itself is the thing that makes it so special, no other ark map ever made has the natural progression of aberration. The only thing I can compare it to is the snow biome, you can't just go to the snow biome, the environment will yell at you and tell you not to be there, you can physically be in it if you want, but you can't actually properly traverse the snow until you're ready to be there
Im so confident with the FSR 3.1 and frame generation update (plus the UE 5.4 new features), Ive found a mod on nexxus mods that adds this features and wow, I have an RTX 3070 and had 40-50 fps on medium settings, now with the mod I get to 85-95 fps in high settings. I higly recomend trying this mod out. (It only works for the steam version)
@@rakethemseals there are 2 diferent mods that do the same thing, just depends on your GPU. One is for all Nvidia rtx GPUs, and the other one is for all types of GPUs
I’m literally in a scorched earth server where they are spamming foundations to prevent the spawn of pearls. They need to make oil decently accessible. At least a few sources in blue zone
Abberation was the the first map I ever played and is my absolute favorite!! I can't wait for it to release! I hope they really take advantage of the lumen in UE5 and really push it and add in even more glowing elements like the ground illuminating when you walk etc. So excited!
I am hoping the spider is like the pyromane in the sense that it has two forms.. and Im hoping its bigger form will be something like jumping spider meets bloodstalker
no flyers was such a great change since they just make everything way too easy even on the other maps. currently playing crystal isles without flyers while trying to use boats instead and it's a blast

Trust me, not a single official pvp ab server is going unclaimed. It’s too good a map for grinding and caves for building. me and my tribe are locking down the entire server we choose.
they should really added blood damaged to rock drake because people that claim fighting rock drake find him lame also his supposed to be the wyvern of aberration he also have the face of someone that deals bleed damaged
I have a 40 series card and have turned off frame generation. The input lag just got too much and it's just fake frames. I lock my fps to 60 and have everything set to high and only use dlss balanced. I get 60 fps most of the time and makes for a far more enjoyable experience than using frame gen.
thats fair, but hopefully with the update, the input lag will be lessened (either because the base performance is higher, meaning more frames for the ai to work with, or because fsr 3.1 has less input lag than nvidias alternative (not sure if thats accurate))
Imo aberration is the most important map that asa needs to get right, if they do then they’ll satisfy the fan base and have more room to stand on when developing later maps, if they don’t… I’ll just say the future won’t be looking good for ark
crap i was playing aberation pvp, never used that basilisk skill that you can put structures from sadle being underground, also use scuba tank while siting on basilisk so you can breath being burrowed.
Its not gonna be sucess. Its gonna be another map where players gather to tryhard it for 30-60 days and abandon. Eventually use it to get drakes or metal easier
Hopefully UE 5.4 engine upgrade and FSR 3.1 will have big impact on performance. Apparently ASA now runs on 2 cores max and UE 5.4 should unlock all cores for game to use so it should help but only time will tell. Cant wait for Abberration though. Map is unique and i never got to play it properly on ASE as i came to the game right before Gen 1 was announced.
aberration is an amazing map! and ive tried a mod that implements fsr 3.1 and has some ue5.2 optimisations, and its been a massive difference, so im quite hopeful!
Rockwell and easy boss.....right....laughs at my futile 100 attempts to kill him...tames are pretty much useless and nameless and reapers are relentless
its easy, just need a good shotgun, cactus broth so you don't pull agro and a tek suit makes it even easier. but don't bring tames as they aren't needed
Ascended will never be saved. Even to date bossfights on official still load with Invisible and untargetable bosses. You have random mesh deaths without being anywhere near the mesh on center in over 10 locations because I ran out of waypo8nts to mark them, two of which are in the middle of the air. They allow desyncing to continue on pvp servers and just today I accidently found a way to dupe any in game item, on official, that can be done by level 40 and scaled to a dedi slot cap. Thier focus and attention is on making money. Which means puking out more dinosaurs, paid content, and maps. Instead of fixing very basic things like I don't know... making sure a crossbow can reload itself without having to go into your inventory and clear the load, then reload it manually before you can shoot again. Mesh raiding bases is a literal breeze on all maps, there are mesh holes literally the size of a tuso still on center, and the size of megalodon on the island. The fact that this game is literal digital cocaine with the design of its game loop is the only reason it perpetuates. Very sad, since I've been playing since day one on steam ase and asa.
I can understand the frustration, ive felt it too, but I think that if either snail games leaves due to their stock, or if they focus on fixing issues, it could be an amazing experience
That's what makes the map good. It changes the meta. Maintains authenticity. With flier enabled it would utterly destroy the map so much so there wouldn't be any purpose in releasing it lol. Rockdrakes, this new tame coming are all you need.
ASE is more popular because it has more content and probably is better optimized. This was ALWAYS going to be the case. Not sure why people bring it up as if it's a valid point to anything at all. But yes ruining it is potentially what might happen regarding visuals. This is a make or break it for ASA. It is the turning point.

Light pets already have the use to prevent nameless so this really doesn't make sense.
