Well done 👍👍👍💕💕💕💕 hardworking , united, loving family ! I really appreciate n admire your family, working together , harvesting n pruning your cucumbers! And brining the cucumbers in salt n explaining everything!
Thanks Dixon Family!! I had no idea that you even COULD prune cukes!! You are always INTERESTING and teach me, even though I have been gardening for over 40 years>>>>>and here I thought I knew everything! Most of the shows, websites and books I have already digested and eaten up>>>but you and Lacie always make me reassess my capacity!! Love you all! PS>>>>>Selah is becoming a very beautiful young lady!!!
Love the video I love the question that your daughter asked what a perfect teaching opportunity and I love how little Micah gets so excited when he found the cucumber
You all have a beautiful garden. The problem child goat is so cute with that PAUSE/PLAY button. 😂 Goodness! When she prunes, she REALLY prunes! LOL! 🤣 I look forward to seeing how much harvest those tomatoes produce after getting all that attention. She has taught me that I need to prune more. Thank you!
never thought that would be an option to prune cucks, grampa always let them grow up an over fence hoops, cucks would hang down threw the fence for easy harvest and keep them out of bird sight, thanks for the info mr mike never too old to learn something new, cheers
I love your theory of being care takers of the earth as well as animals. Yes us as humans are caretakers. Love your humour, you are teaching your children very well. Thankyou.
Yeah, a nice shady spot to lay eggs. Now that you have pruned them so much, I'm not sure they will continue to lay eggs under there anymore. They sure like to hide their eggs if they can.
Every video just makes me love you guys more! The RESPECT you instill in your family is beautiful and so inspiring. Much love and may Allah always protect you and your precious family.
Everyone is getting so grown up! Salah just gets more beautiful everyday, and the boys are such hard workers. With my Houdini goat, I tied her to a tire wheel, the metal part. She was new to the herd, and not quite integrated. All this did was keep her from getting to far away from the enclosure. After a month or so, she was more comfortable with her new herd and stopped trying to find her old family. Hope that helps.
I've been watching your channel on TV under my husband's account for quite some time. Today I added you to my acct and subscribed on my phone just so I can comment. It's was so cute & funny watching the kiddos play with their newly (then) discovered "Play & Pause" feature of the "problem child". Today I'm going through some of your older videos. Wishing your family success in all that you attempt. You have a beautiful family. I really appreciate & admire your method of sharing your family & life. I think part of your success is your humble & unpretentious personality, natural sense of humor, & videography style. ❤️
Nice cucumbers! Great that the boys are helping. It's great to hear the little duck noises in the background. Pause/play, so cute. Loved the joke about life being hard because it's green. Kermit would be proud. The strawberries look great. It is looking super good on the homestead this year you guys! Nice fermentation bottles. Those will look so nice as they ferment on the counter. The rain does sound nice on the yurt. It is so fun seeing you guys do this as a family. Thanks for sharing this. God bless.
Loved the sound of the rain on the yurt. We are having temps in the 90’s, humidity and are in a moderate drought here in Iowa. We need rain! Rain dances please!
Thanks Guys another great video, boy those cucumber plants are amazing as are your tomatoes. I always preserve my cucumbers when we have an abundance which isn't often as my husband eats them all. Cheers Denise- Australia
Everything is looking so good. No fear Lacie pruning technique,I’m getting braver,it definitely makes a difference. Looking forward to an update on your carnivore experience. The kids are growing like your garden, beautifully.
Helloooo from 🇨🇦 Wow your Cukes and Tomatoes are growing ... I see you pruning Cukes again..This is the 1st year in 10 that I do not have a garden😢 Miss it soooo.. While my cukes were growing I had them up like yous do outside .. and would just prune lots of the leaves ... And as I harvested some one told me to leave a little piece of Cuke on the stem of plant and more would grow in that spot .. it sure worked awesome 👍👍 I harvested so much from 12 plants... We ate all we wanted pickled lots and gave to neighbors all summer long 👍😊 God's Continual Blessings to you all 🙏😇💝
This is ALL so interesting, and fun to me as a viewer! You make it FUN for the children and that's GREAT family time! These moments become 'memories' that bond y'all. That can't be found on some store shelf... Its homemade and blessed! HAPPY HARVESTING! : )
I had to come watch again to get the names of the cucumbers Selah grows! They both made me want to grow them! Thanks for the great ideas Selah! Your parents have an amazing helper in you!
Micah is getting so big! I love pickles but never had fermented pickles. Those cute little ones are going to be so delicious. Mike I love a cucumber, onion and tomato salad. Once your cherry tomatoes grow in ooowee they're going to pair well with your cucumbers.
Great video and impressions of Kermit! lol I used to help my Mom make Bottled beets etc but we cooked them and then used a mixture of sugar hot water and vinegar to do them up, Nice to learn about fermenting! Thanks!
Love little Micah. He loves helping. Such a sweet little guy. He reminds me of my youngest son, who is now probably your age. Josiah's funny! You guys got great kids and an awesome family. Love y'all. God bless
Lacie, that top looks really good on you. A suggestion with the strawberry runners. Place them in the soil until they root, then clip off the runner so it doesn't sap anything from the parent place.
Even though this is a year old, that high tunnel you have set up there I bet rendered you a fruitful crop!! Love tomatoes and cucumbers. Great on salad or just alone. Interesting watering system there. Great family team work. How full did Hazel get? She would rather be sscratched than eat. LOL. WOW! That second high tunnel has tomato plants taller than you. You are correct on our roles as caretakers. A lot of humans though do not want to do that!! Rain is very relaxing. From God. Will put you to sleep if you lay down. Shela is precious Praise the Lord for windows. Enjoyed the video very much. God bless all of you!! ❤
What ever it is that everyone is doing it's showing really well on video. The farm is looking so organized. Continued success growth and blessings to you family.
I equate finding a veggie in a garden to hunting for seashells! It is so exciting, fun and rewarding to find the " treasure"! I love it and I am sure your family does as well! Your adventure is our adventure! GOD BLESS!
Beautiful family. I planted mm cucs, they were doing great, then died when temps dropped. I have more starts and the true leaves popped yesterday. Maybe I'll plant them Saturday. 🤞 🙏🏻 🤞 🙏🏻 🤞 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 Blessings, julie
BoSe makes a great selenium supplement which would probably help the problem child shed some of that discolored coat and put a shine on her. I really enjoyed learning about pruning cucumbers. I never knew about this before but it sure looks like it would make it a lot easier come harvest time. Thank you!
Ever fermented green tomatoes? Great for the end of the season when frost is coming and you have lots of green tomatoes. We make mixed salad with green peppers, carrots, cauliflower... whatever:)
I never thought about pruning cucumbers like you are doing, but it makes sense. I look forward to seeing the plants in a few weeks. I envy you all, it is really difficult to grow cukes here in SWFL due to the pests and hot humid weather conditions that promote growth of diseases. I appreciate how you involve your children in your work/gardening. That is how they learn!
I love mini cucumbers for snacking with hummus or dips….they cost $3 for four little ones……I like them better then large ones…. We love sweet pickle relish and using jalapeños along with cukes makes a great hot relish….. My favorite sandwich is toasted bread with sliced cuke and homemade Mayo…… Take problem child and tie her to a few cinder blocks and put her in a weed patch you need cleaned out…our jumper always headed for the poison ivy on trees and vines, we just kept watch so she didn’t tangle up her chain and moved her about…. Too many cukes then dehydrate them and make into a powder, great to make dressing with……add to Mayo, add to Italian dressing or just add to smoothies.
Marketmore cucumber is my favorite, too, but decided to also try Baker Creek’s “Monika” this year. Micah, Josiah, and Selah - growing up before our eyes! “Pause” - “Play”. Too funny! Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 6/12/2021.
I tried the tasty green cucumbers last year and they were great! You harvest them when they are the thickness of your thumb and they are so fresh tasting.
Well done 👍👍👍💕💕💕💕 hardworking , united, loving family ! I really appreciate n admire your family, working together , harvesting n pruning your cucumbers! And brining the cucumbers in salt n explaining everything!

I just found this channel yesterday, and I love it. I really do love your lifestyle. I wish that I live like that.God bless you sll.
Growing eggs in the garden. That's an interesting idea.
Oh! Cucumbers have suckers like tomatoes do! I wish I'd known this. I didn't know you could trim them down. Such beautiful green and blossoms.
I love your theory of being care takers of the earth as well as animals. Yes us as humans are caretakers. Love your humour, you are teaching your children very well. Thankyou.
I don't know why but seeing the eggs under the cucumber leaves made me smile
Yeah, a nice shady spot to lay eggs. Now that you have pruned them so much, I'm not sure they will continue to lay eggs under there anymore. They sure like to hide their eggs if they can.
This is a lovely family. He and mom are teaching how to garden. I love watching how they do things. I learn something every time ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Every video just makes me love you guys more! The RESPECT you instill in your family is beautiful and so inspiring.

The Kermit impression made me lol and smile 😃 thanks ❤️ I love your family and thanks for the quick pickle recipe lacey.
Those hooks work really well. The plants look so healthy, and everything looks like it's fairly easy to see.
Very playful health marriage and love✊🏾❤️❤️❤️✊🏾
Wonder how the cucumber flowers would taste? You can eat squash blooms I imagine cucumber blooms would be similar.
Wow, you really have a great crop of cucumbers. Way to garden.

Little man is getting to be such a farmer I just love him.
Loved the sound of the rain on the yurt. We are having temps in the 90’s, humidity and are in a moderate drought here in Iowa. We need rain! Rain dances please!
Well theres your problem, you must repent of your blasphemous rain dances and maybe God will water your garden.
Sayla is awesome. She brings laughter and character to the farm. I would have her as a farm buddy anyday. Love her expressions.
Thanks Guys another great video, boy those cucumber plants are amazing as are your tomatoes. I always preserve my cucumbers when we have an abundance which isn't often as my husband eats them all. Cheers Denise- Australia

There's a little french cucumber called cornichon which makes amazing pickles.
Love me some fresh cucumbers. Dipped in ranch dressing.

Did you save your strawberry runners that you cut off? If those were touching soil they would have rooted.
Man I enjoyed listening to the rain.
The new little goat is gorgeous.
Beautiful flowers on those cukes.
I use fresh dill in mine. MMMMMM I can’t wait for our cucumbers. Our season is behind yours.
I stick a piece of garlic in mine to give more flavor too.
@@audreyabdo7719 I use fresh dill, fresh garlic, and a grape leaf or two. The tannins in the grape leaves helps them to retain their crunching.
This is ALL so interesting, and fun to me as a viewer! You make it FUN for the children and that's GREAT family time! These moments become 'memories' that bond y'all. That can't be found on some store shelf... Its homemade and blessed! HAPPY HARVESTING! : )

My grandma used to love to pickle the little cucumbers. She’s add a bit of jalapeño.
Love little Micah. He loves helping. Such a sweet little guy. He reminds me of my youngest son, who is now probably your age. Josiah's funny! You guys got great kids and an awesome family. Love y'all. God bless
Hi...... Mike Dickson and Lacie nice to see you, thank you for showing your video homestead chicken Duck farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐐🎥👍👍👍

Lovely video, Lace, Mike & kids.
your video notifications are like a gift to me. I'm always happier when I watch your videos. I'm watching your videos here in Brazil
Thank you so much! It makes us happy to hear that our videos can brighten your day.
I have the exact same fermenting kit, just love it.
Does the high tunnel cover keep the plants from getting beat by hard rains? Is that why you are leaving the plants covered and utilizing the rain?
Those small cucumbers, here in the UK we call them wallies. we put them into vinegar and then they turn into a gherking lol
Did you know there are 11 types of leaves you can eat, like your cucumber leaves make a great salad green.. try it out .. you will love it
Marketmore cucumber is my favorite, too, but decided to also try Baker Creek’s “Monika” this year.
Micah, Josiah, and Selah - growing up before our eyes!
“Pause” - “Play”. Too funny!
Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 6/12/2021.
Love all the different cucumbers you grow and harvest, hard to get many types to buy at the moment can't garden.
I tried the tasty green cucumbers last year and they were great! You harvest them when they are the thickness of your thumb and they are so fresh tasting.
