All with plenty of fans. None under normal circumstances unless things have changed with new boards. I left the "scene" again for awhile so no clue on new products.
Well, I'm very slightly starting to regret pairing my 1700X with a B350-F Strix which uses a similar VRM to this (identical really, just with doubled SOC phases) with thicker heatsinks. Running stock voltage and clocks and the VRMs are chilly but when I bump it to 1.4V @3.9 the VRM heatsinks are mildly warm to the touch. I'll feel the back of the board tonight or tomorrow to see how hot it is, but I'm gonna hope for far less than 150.... Really sad that the majority of AM4 boards are pretty poor for overclocking the 8-cores.
After a little while of no response, I feel this should probably be thrown out there The upper human threshold of pain is about 55C. Higher than that and you won't be able to keep your finger on a heatsink without burning. VRMs are designed to sustain at least 125C and often run in the 90s. Even if you're burning your finger on the heatsink, you're still well within limits. Use another method of measuring if you want to measure temperatures higher than that. Don't worry so much, mate.
Nice video Brian. So saving some money buying b350 is only a good idea if you're going for the four core ryzen models. Or you could watercool that vrm LOL :-)
Another good video from Brian. Could you please say, if my chip is bad? I have x370-pro mb and ryzen 1700, because i set 1.4 volts and level 2 llc for 3.9 Ghz and in hwinfo/cpu-z i get like 1.435 in the peak but still not stable. I have the latest bios - 0805. I see like 90% people hit 3.9 Ghz 1.4v on their 1700-s, but i can't...
www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/4337935 , Also can u help me oc my ram?? I see it here on userbenchmark some pp hit 3.200mhz whit same ram what i have . I will be happy whit 3000mhz :)
So would it be a bad idea to run a ryzen 5 2600x at 4ghz on asus b350 strix gaming f

J. Goose. seems ok for benching. Certainly would not use it for mining/crunching.

Or is it just software measurement?
rafael oOze prime x370 pro set @ lvl 3 and 1.4 is about. 1.4. latest agesa seems to clock cpu less on multiple boards. just my observation.
Brian Mclachlan ok thank you again, Brian! Keep up your reviews and other videos, really interesting to see!
Brian Mclachlan what bios ver. could you suggest on this board for now?
Is this good imgur.com/a/Dew4c at 1.37500v ryzen 5 1600
