Thanks for sharing us Your mechanic skills and knowledge about Tiger. I just picked some days ago my Tiger XCA -18 from authorized dealer and they had ignored many of the items on the checklist even the "mechanic" had ticked them done. It was a 20.000 km service. Steering bearing was not opened or greased, bank angle indicators were not checked (one of them was totally broken), no grease could be seen on sidestand swivel pin or centerstand hinge. Engine oil level was just above the minimum line.... I asked workshop manager to call me next week when he is back from his vacation. We'll discuss about customer's trust and can it be still earned back somehow. I wish they could have the same passion for the work quality as You have. Maybe they just have to maximize somehow the earnings for their company.

I'm with you, when I have it all apart might as well do as much as possible. I actually already have my forks off, but I like your approach for the next time I do it. Looks like you are having a good winter working on your bike. I bought the castle socket to do locking nuts, but your way worked fine too.
That did not look too bad. I have never done any serious service on my bikes but this now looks possible. I am surprised about the design though. Bicycles don't use this system anymore. Do all motorcycles use this ancient bicycle derived bearing system in the headset?
A bit late to the party: loved the presentation and clear camera work, one question though, where did you find that adjustable "spanner wrench"?? I've looked and looked and looked and I can't find one anywhere...

Hello sir.. good to hear from you. On the Tiger this fall before I quit riding it I sprayed it down with 50% diluted Super Clean degreaser/cleaner and sprayed it off good at the car wash. That pretty much took all of the seasons left overs off the bike. I try not to use the car wash too often on my bikes but at least a couple of times a year I will do this. The Super Clean is really good degreaser but it is necessary to dilute it at least 50% with water and not to leave it on the bike to long... 5 minutes or so then get it rinsed off. If it is put on too strong or left on too long it can cloud the paint but I have had really good luck with it... good luck and thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
