I probably come back to this video once every few months. I was 13 at the time. I remember in April shortly after the baseball season started watching the news of the bombing that occurring in Boston and the 5 day manhunt that occurred after. Our whole world felt like everything was on pause and the only thing everyone could do was watch the news keep up to date with the police. I swear in life there are just those moments that just feel like there was a hand of a higher power playing a part. This World Series was needed for Boston and it almost felt like the Earth knew it too.

Joe buck sounds like any High school announcer. Compared to the other sports announcers when it comes to winning championships he is easily the worst announcer. Buck belongs in the 70’s when announcers sucked
2004 to me was perfect. It was almost playful, but I think he fully recognized the significance of the moment. He was the first man in television history to say the Red Sox had won a World Series after an 86 year drought. Red Sox fans had longed to hear it. And the line perfectly matched the moment, with the seemingly slow-motion and ever so careful jog over to first and flip to a gold glove first baseman. I'm partial to 2013, too. 2007 was just easy when we go back and look at it. It was sort of a boring series. The ALCS excluded, that was about as easy as 2018.
Wakefield was key in the 2004 ALCS. The true meaning of sacrifice for the team. He carried the whole team in those extra innings, keeping a team stretched to the breaking point alive. Made them believe. Made them know they could win it all.

As awesome as that would be, we need to be somewhat healthy for that to happen. Story has the durability of a paper straw and I have a feeling the pitching staff will collapse any second now.
The problem with the Yankees in 2004 was lack of pitching. They certainly spent enough money. The trouble was, fish n chips pitching at a caviar price.
