Control the centre. Develop your minor pieces to their optimal squares. Get your King safe. Then start planning your attack. Try not to move the same piece multiple times in the opening. Good luck! 😅
Again, making multiple moves with the same piece in the opening and falling behind in developing bites in the backside. On moves 3.-4. you simply gave your opponent a free move to develop.
Ivan, play the slav a defens egainst d4. it can transpse to caro cann aswell. if you want to play aggressive, plazy englund gambit. at your level, you will win all your games with it(if you dont hang your queen)
You're not wrong. I also like the slav because the structures are very familiar to the caro. It is solid but kind of passive, and makes it tough to get the bishop out. I prefer D5, C5, NC6 most of the time. It goes right for central control and can still transpose to caro structures. As for Englund Gambit, I can't really judge... I played it exclusively against D4 up until around 1400, where I then started to lose with it more often. It is extremely effective below 1200, especially if you get to know several of the potential traps. But I think it does stunt your growth eventually. I had to go back and learn a whole new opening for D4 in order to progress into the 1500s, which was somewhat frustrating. But it does offer easy wins in the lower rating ranges.
@5:50 not taking with the knight here probably cost you the game. By taking with the knight, you would have disrupted his pawn structure and had a stronger end game. Good luck in the next one.

Go back and report that guy. You absolutely played a cheater in this game. The dead giveaway is near-instant move speed. Virtually every move was consistently taking a few seconds while maintaining accuracy. No 700 plays that accurately, that quickly, that consistently. It simply doesn’t not happen. Also, 0 Mistakes or worse from him. This is virtually unheard of at the 1200 level, let alone the 700-800 one. Report and i’m sure they’ll catch him and you’ll get your elo refunded.

I’m not saying that you are wrong, he may well have cheated, but the opponent’s moves seem to make themselves, they were simple and logical … I didn’t see any insane Queen sac, checkmates out of nowhere type moves or anything majorly complicated at all. Also, they both seemed to trade off their minor pieces early which left them with mostly a rook-heavy game … granted, I could be wrong.
If this is a cheater you don't know anything about chess. This was a very simplist position, he has an acccuracy similar to Ivan's. Not every 80+ accuracy means the player is cheating, it depends on the complexity of the game. Ivan didnt make any mistakes aswell, besides that blunder. That means he was cheating? On top of that, he even made more inaccuracies than Ivan (4 vs 3). Ivan played a cheater few games ago, go check that out if you want to see a cheater in action.
Low to mid 800s start playing the ruy lopez i just wanted to say something and after low to mid 800 i dont know because i play sicilian accelerated dragon and kings indian style stuff the kings Indian style set up with the bishop and knight on the kings side is strong defensive wise and the bishop shouldn't be traded off so willy nilly and there is a set up people use to deal with it that most people don't know about it is where the dark squared bishop is in front of the queen to trade of bishops and creat an attack on the king so sometimes I push the a pawn forward and wait for that threat to disappear to castle and if they don't go for that set up then don't push the a pawn, this is if you have the set up as white for plblack it is the same thing for black just flipped
@@chadohioskibidi I don't play ruy lopez but for some reason people do and as for the kings Indian it is at least a decent opening also levy roman recommended it because it isn't too complicated and if that is the reason why you would call it brain dead then all I have to say is I don't want to spend hours on one opening until I make it to full intermediate and there is still plenty to know for middle game.

he didn't even try to review the whole game and he was playing hope chess by hoping his opponent was gonna place his knight there

Yep, the rook move instead of taking with the knight threw the otherwise balance position
