At 36:20 you say the rook isn’t defended but if you take his rook with your knight your knight is defending your rook so your original idea was correct, a lot of times it feels like the longer you think the more you move away from the correct play
I saw the same thing, @10:40 is basically a free knight. If the opponent decides to trade queens afterwards, then you are basically up a knight and have simplified the end game. This was an early match-winning opportunity … the moves beforehand, gaining the pin, making the king vulnerable, etc were great, but you should try to “exploit the pin” as much as you can.
Overall, great game, your opponent’s king was absolutely smothered at the end. I like how you were able to get his king off the backrank early, while keeping your own king very safe. Hopefully, you can get into the 800 elo soon!
At 36:50 it's fascinating to me that you realized Nh5 defends your rook, but didn't notice Nxe8 also defends your rook. Yes you would lose your knight, but you'd win his rook and if king takes you have mate with Rb8#. If bishop takes just move your rook, and keeping it on the 7th rank would lead to mate very soon. You found a nice bishop mate in the end so it wasn't the biggest deal, but being able to visualize what squares your pieces will cover after being moved would've helped you win a bit sooner.
28:13 u could have put the rook in d1 and if he take the knight with bishop u take the bishop with rook checkmate if he dosent u move the knight to f1 check he uses the bishop to block the rook u take the bishop checkmate 🤔👀
3:05 Oh, I want you to move your q to f7 so bad! Even if it's a mistake, I wanna see what happens... oooh, bish to b5 is looking interesting as well. 6:35 pawn to c5, then (all else equal) q to f7 is mate I think. edit. can block with queen. :( 29:10 I'm pretty sure you can get mate with rook to d1

For sure. Realized that in the analysis. I was trying to avoid him going for check with his queen, then b2, then takes rook on a1

35:55 I don't consider +9 being "a bit even". :D
42:17 If you lose a knight and a bishop for a rook, you're not up a rook. Two minor pieces are better than one rook. (N + B = 6 points, R = 5 points)

The lesson of this game is to solve tactics at least 15 minutes a day ;)

Yea him not doing rook to d1 made me tweak
Just trade the knight for the rook....
28:44 Here, you could win a bishop if you played rook to d1
Boring
Shut up
