I don't know about anyone else, but being in Colorado where it's always dry, I LOVE camping in the rain. There's nothing like falling asleep to the sound of rain. 😁 If I lived in the PNW I might feel differently. 😆
You would love camping in BC. Until you realize 90 days has passed without the rain letting up! Lol. But ill still take it anyday instead of scorching 115* F heat that you can't hide from.
This Old-New vision for the channel is exactly what I subscribed for so long ago. Thank you for staying true and wishing it will make for a good living in this new year🎉
Loving the new video! As someone born and raised in Utah myself, I felt it when you talked about how you dream of these Northern rainforests. As beautiful as the desert is, for the last 20+ years, it's all I've come to know. the Uintas are a nice break here and there, but they're still distinctly. Dry. I watch a LOT of Sean's videos, and I dream of visiting Oregon or BC someday. Glad you could make the trip! Edit: Also I do appreciate the slower pace. It's much more relaxing with the beautiful b-roll and voiceover!
@40:10 - @40:30 😮💨👌 my word. The framing and composition is just incredible. The contrast from the darkness of the trees to the trucks being lit up and driving to the light of the sky.
“Was it even raining?” Hey Justin. Great video. I really enjoyed it. Sometimes I tend to shy away from the longer videos, but I have to tell you that this one was awesome. Well done. What a great adventure, even though you got a lot of rain. Oh, and BTW, I was the random fella you came across at Long Beach Airport. I gave you my challenge coin! Even though it was quick, it was great to meet you and your beautiful bride. Hope you enjoyed your stay in SoCal.
I love the style of filming you do the recording rain drops on the windows or the dash setup where you just set the cam up while you drive its relaxing and different then the other jeep channels subscribed!
Thank you! It means a lot that you saw my same vision. While there is nothing wrong with the extreme Jeep videos, I am one who camps to find tranquility, and I’m trying to show that where I can in this new format.
was it even raining? I live on the west side of WA and the best part about it is going into the woods when it's raining, it's my favorite thing to do. Everything looks so pretty, everything sounds incredible when you're outside listening to the rain on the dirt, the trees, the rocks and on your rain jacket. Seeing your vehicle splashed or covered in mud is amazing. I've stayed out there seeing nothing but green trees, river views. Love love the rain in the woods.
But was it even raining? Best video you have produced. Long time subscriber and wow! These past few years I have enjoyed watching your growth with your builds and your love of photography. Its it great to see someone make a living doing something they love. I enjoyed every second. Your video brought me peace in this crazy world. . Thank you.
Thank you for watching! I feel the same way and I think I’m still figuring out my new style. But 4 episodes into Localander, I think I’m on the right track to create something I’d watch and stand apart from the crowd of overland channels that are out there these days. Adventure isn’t always epic and things don’t have to break or life be threatened to create a RUclips video worth watching. Most of us are out to go camping to ditch the crowds, emails, and junk on Netflix. We want to relax, slow down, and find tranquility. That is what I’m working on and I’m glad you can see it. Thank you!

I don’t think it was raining. Such a great video. Like others I love how raw and real this adventure was. Not showing just the good stuff. But everything that makes this so great. Thank you!
Was it even raining? Great video, Justin. I try to watch all of your and Shawn's videos and dream about those amazing places that you guys explore and camp. Thanks for those amazing videos!
Was it even raining? Great video man. BC definitely hits different, especially for me, living in sw NM, I tend to forget what rain is most of the time... 😅😁

Was it even raining?? Honestly loving these videos with the style you are doing, some voice over when needed but showing the work with the sounds without any music or other distracting added sounds. While that is an absolutely gorgeous location to camp I can't stand being that wet when camping. I little rain here and there is ok but puts such a downer on things that make camping so good, ie sitting around a good campfire. Happy New Year sir!

I’ve recently joined the Gladiator club, myself - I’ve yet to splurge on a camper (or canopy-camper) but the added space is already appreciated. Been following you since the wrangler days, some bronco stuff and now back to jeep again. I like your way of storytelling and especially what you bring up in this video about slowing down and not cutting clips too soon. You are absolutely correct, the slow pace and asmr kind of vibe is very nice. It is really relaxing and nice to watch! Don't be afraid to do more of this. Great stuff Justin! Oh and just a sidenote, get some sort of mount or stabilizer for the driving shots, because there is a bit to much shaking to be comfortable to watch, get a little dizzy over here 🤪 Rock on!
Thanks! Nice trip to BC. Love the tidbit "Was it Raining". I am looking forward to this LocalLander series and what you have in store. I am 54 and just purchased a 4Runner but am clueless about where to take things next to be able to do some local trips here in NE.

Was it even raining? Just wanted to say, "localander" hits the nail on the head. Loved the pacing on this one, and love seeing you tell your story. Awesome video.
Are you sure it was raining? Hey Justin, thanks for sharing this adventure with us. We can't always count on the weather being ideal, so at least now you have more knowledge of how to overcome the rain when you want to get out there. I have the itch to start my own YT channel so maybe I can take part is some of these epic adventures. I look forward to your heater build videos so I can incorporate a heater into my trailer. Cheers until next video.
Was it even raining? Quite the welcome to Canada Justin, I'm in flat and boring Manitoba a couple of provinces east. But hope to make it both your and Shawn's way in 2024 in "Betty" 2023 Badlands Bronco. All the best this holiday season, be safe and Jeep up the great work! lol stay dry my friend stay dry!

Never seen one drop of rain! Great Video!! I live vicariously through you. I don’t even own a overlanding vehicle. 😂 you and the others have my interest.
First topic: How to keep your gear dry in the rain day after day! I use a diesel air heater on high for as long as I can run it to dry out the bedding and canvas morning and night.
Was it even raining??? Boy, retirement in 3 years, then heading straight to B.C.! Meanwhile, from SoCal I can still hit Utah, Oregon & Arizona in my weeks vacation. Your heater setup is pretty cool. I bought a Silvel heater about a year ago (the shorter red boxed version - I think you had one!) and eventually found that it bolts nicely to a GSI Outdoors Micro table, which makes it very stable when tied down on top of the Decked drawers. Also the aluminum table keeps the hot exhaust off of tarps, etc. Info for those out there that own one of these! Anyway, Happy holidays to you, and look forward to more in 2024!
Was it even raining? 🤣 I have waited for this one ever since I saw you on the TSTN video of this trip. I knew an extra special JBMB video was on the way.

what rain? I didn't see any rain. :) no question... keep it up. I love that part of the world. I, honestly, wish i could experience that every weekend.
Haha was it even raining?! I could see those raindrops falling. Been in some epic downpours and freezing rain camping in the northeast but the views there outweigh anything from the northeast! Great video JBM!😮
Don't underestimate the power of air from the Dewalt blower unit I saw someone using early in the video. I have used mine several times to super blast a slow starting fire into submission. Like a good wind storm in a forest fire, it gets the flames going really good.
Was it even raining? 😆 It's like Pacific Coast all over again, but this time you were ready. What a difference to be able to comfortably pack everything in the back while standing. And do so dry.
47:24 was it ever raining? Thanks for visiting our neck of the woods. Come back soon. I assure you, it doesn’t rain forever ❤ in as much as I love the rain here.
Was it even raining? Thanks for the videos and your Localander series. As someone who's a weekend warrior, you are inspiring me to explore the Reno area more, and eventually the Salt Lake area.
was it even raining, as PNW native camper, rain is just the way it is, there are ways to start fires in the rain than dont cost 1300. bur it takes a lot of water to keep green and support forests, camping without trees is so odd to me.
That darn thing. Yes, it’s expensive, and yes there are alternatives, but I’m convinced that there isn’t a propane campfire on the market that is as comfortable as the Howl.
Ya, make plans to come back up. That there is the coast mountain snow ... Rain for ALOT of the winter. But I think you would enjoy those same areas in the summer months. So ya, come back and check it out. ... Oh! And I enjoyed the video as well.
Was it even raining!? Haha….. yep, that’s the PNW! Gorgeous, huh? I live right below, Burlington, WA, where you were at. I’d LOVE to camp on the lakes up there! And…… have never been to MOAB. That’s totally on my Life List! ❤️🏔🌲❄️
Was it even raining? 😂 I sure enjoy watching your videos since I’m also a Utah local lander.. or as I like to call it, camplanding. I’m finding my way back into it from when I “overlanded” back in the day or before it was “cool” (I’ve been doing the toy hauler thing but it’s time to move on from it. Wife approved!! 😃) Off roading into those out of the way places to find that tranquility has always been something I’ve always been passionate about… plus I’ve always liked photography as well. Just looking forward to what I want to build since there’s so much out there these days. I have my ideas. Be safe out there!
@@JustinBMcBride My scouting “camping” experiences were to Tracy Wigwam and Sugarhouse Park. 🤣 I did get to do some backpacking into the Cascades when my family moved to Seattle back in the early 80’s. So.. I can relate to the rainy weather.
was it even raining? No man it was just realy wet...... Got to say I am realy enjoying the localander format. I think you hit a home run with this one. Editing was great, the story was compeling, was a very nice watching it.
Should go to Ontario next way better wilderness then bc. Wabakimi is probably the best camping in Canada next to Temagami, Killarney and Tobermory(you can also dive for shipwrecks there going back to the 1700s and giant underwater cliffs )
Thanks! And thank you for the feedback! I agree. They had early Bourne Identity shakes. lol I’ve already got a smaller gimbal camera to mount in the Jeep that I hope fixes this in future videos.
Was it even raining? I saw the familiar landscape in the thumbnail and had to sit down to watch this! Glad you enjoyed BC and even though Shawn managed to pack a lot of sights into a weekend you still have so much more to see up here!
was it even raining? i’m a gladiator/alu-cab owner. i live in northern british columbia and still experience the scenery the same way you do no matter how many times i see it. love ALL your vids JBM. keep up the great work and if you venture far far north look me up

what rain? I didn't see any rain. :) no question... keep it up. I love that part of the world. I, honestly, wish i could experience that every weekend.
Thank you! It is insanely beautiful up there.
Was it even raining! Great video Justin, thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for watching it through! Merry Christmas to you too! Hopefully we can share a trail together this next year!
@JustinBMcBride Yes we need to make that happen! 👍
Haha was it even raining?! I could see those raindrops falling. Been in some epic downpours and freezing rain camping in the northeast but the views there outweigh anything from the northeast! Great video JBM!😮
Thank you! These guys have all the views.
Don't underestimate the power of air from the Dewalt blower unit I saw someone using early in the video. I have used mine several times to super blast a slow starting fire into submission. Like a good wind storm in a forest fire, it gets the flames going really good.
Force feeding oxygen into the fire!
Was it even raining? Come back soon. ❤
I can’t wait to come back!
Was it even raining? 😆 It's like Pacific Coast all over again, but this time you were ready. What a difference to be able to comfortably pack everything in the back while standing. And do so dry.
The camper made this so much nicer! Lessons were learned from the previous year in the PNW rainstorms.
But was it even raining!? Good to see you're still filming beautiful trips and enjoying yourself!
I couldn’t agree more! It feels great to have a trip like this under the belt.
Was it even raining? Justin, Another awesome video! keep them coming and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you!
Was it even raining? Love the content. Happy Holidays to you!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! Happy new year!
47:24 was it ever raining? Thanks for visiting our neck of the woods. Come back soon. I assure you, it doesn’t rain forever ❤ in as much as I love the rain here.
Was it even raining? That’s definitely some type 2 fun. Being in Alaska camping in the rain really wears on you
Haha! You’re not wrong!
Was it even raining?
Great video - just a simple question, why not buy dry firewood at a store and keep it in your vehicles to not get wet?
That’s what we did! There was so much moisture in the air that even the store bought wood was water logged.
Was it even raining?
Thanks for the videos and your Localander series. As someone who's a weekend warrior, you are inspiring me to explore the Reno area more, and eventually the Salt Lake area.
I need to do more down I-80 in the Reno neck of the woods… but I think I’ll wait until it’s warmer. Tahoe doesn’t sound too fun right now.
Anybody notice if it was even raining? That diesel heater build has my interest…
The rain was all AI… haha!
Diesel Heater video is in the works.
was it even raining, as PNW native camper, rain is just the way it is, there are ways to start fires in the rain than dont cost 1300. bur it takes a lot of water to keep green and support forests, camping without trees is so odd to me.
This desert boy doesn't understand rain camping! lol
Was it even raining 🌧️ amazing video god I want to get out and overland you have truly inspired me again amazing
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Was it even raining? Of course it was. However, I think this video convinced me on the Howl. Great video. See ya around town.
It’s 100% on the list to get up there when the bugs are as thick as this rain was. lol
@@JustinBMcBride one word ... "Thermocel"
Was it even raining 😅 loved the video man! Saw Shaun’s video earlier and knew I had to come see if from your pov!!
Thank you for stopping by!
Was it even raining!? Haha….. yep, that’s the PNW! Gorgeous, huh? I live right below, Burlington, WA, where you were at. I’d LOVE to camp on the lakes up there! And…… have never been to MOAB. That’s totally on my Life List! ❤️🏔🌲❄️
And here I am feeling like I'm in Moab way too much. Thanks for watching! Y'all have some beautiful scenery!
Was it even raining? 😂
I sure enjoy watching your videos since I’m also a Utah local lander.. or as I like to call it, camplanding.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, back in my day we just called it “scouts.”
@@JustinBMcBride My scouting “camping” experiences were to Tracy Wigwam and Sugarhouse Park. 🤣
I did get to do some backpacking into the Cascades when my family moved to Seattle back in the early 80’s. So.. I can relate to the rainy weather.
Was it even raining? Wow! What an awesome adventure. Hope to be able to do this one day with my son. Amazing footage. Just subscribed!
WAS IT EVEN RAINING? great trip
Was it even raining? C'mon man! That was nothing!! LOL! Yeah the BC Boys are hard on their drones! Good luck with the new channel!
was it even raining? No man it was just realy wet......
Got to say I am realy enjoying the localander format. I think you hit a home run with this one. Editing was great, the story was compeling, was a very nice watching it.
Thank you so much. I feel like I’ve found my stride with these.
Was it even raining???? Awesome vid. Spectacular views, great storytelling. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!!!
Should go to Ontario next way better wilderness then bc. Wabakimi is probably the best camping in Canada next to Temagami, Killarney and Tobermory(you can also dive for shipwrecks there going back to the 1700s and giant underwater cliffs )
Looks awesome. Great shots, although I had a tough time watching the shots inside your Jeep.. made me a bit nauseous. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! And thank you for the feedback! I agree. They had early Bourne Identity shakes. lol
I’ve already got a smaller gimbal camera to mount in the Jeep that I hope fixes this in future videos.
Was it even raining..💦💦 looks awesome. BC is definetly a spot I want to get to. Thanks for the good vid.
Was it even raining? I saw the familiar landscape in the thumbnail and had to sit down to watch this! Glad you enjoyed BC and even though Shawn managed to pack a lot of sights into a weekend you still have so much more to see up here!
I feel like I only got a Costco free sample of what is up there on this trip! I can't wait to get back!
Was it even raining, maybe. However the photography was awesome and spectacular . You should do it professionally , thanks for the rain.😊
Thank you! I suppose that since this is my job I am doing it professionally.
Was it even raining??😂 If you go back in the spring, summer or fall…..pack a lot of bug repellent!!😎 Great video as usual. 👍👍
Noted! Maybe a baseball bat too? lol
Was it even raining?
As a lifetime B.C. resident I can honestly say yes, it was indeed raining!
...it often does
Really enjoyed the slower style like you were talking about. Was it even raining?
Thank you! I feel like I’m mixing a few different styles and in doing so I’m finding my own style. I love this.
Was it even raining. What a great video.
Thanks for making it through! Glad you enjoyed it!
Was it even raining? Thanks for sharing, gorgeous video!
Thanks for watching!
Was it even raining? Thank you for sharing your adventure!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching.
Was it even raining? Thank you for sharing, much appreciated!!

i’m a gladiator/alu-cab owner. i live in northern british columbia and still experience the scenery the same way you do no matter how many times i see it. love ALL your vids JBM. keep up the great work and if you venture far far north look me up
Was it even raining? 🌧️
Thank you for a window into the great Canadian north.
Thanks for watching till the end! Glad you enjoyed it!
Was it even raining? No need to respond to this comment. I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy all your RUclips videos and I hope that you keep making them.
Happy to respond and happy to have a collection of positivity today. It means the world to have my work appreciated.
Was it even raining? If you like big trees put the Oregon, WA, and northern Cali coast on your agenda. So much to see. Thanks for the great content!
Glad you liked it! I think you’re talking about this area: ruclips.net/video/FIhCDE-yLjo/видео.htmlsi=ip1TnWHmita_t-Oi
Was it even raining? Great video, it was so tranquil to watch :)
