Well if anyone noticed the white mark the wolf has disappears when Kalani's spirit shows herself. So in the end the wolf goes back to being that little pup that had been following them. And the other two can go towards their own city of light. But in the end when the time is right the wolf might join them too, just not yet
@@wojciechjarzynski8558 Actually no, it's there until Kalani and Atevo? appear as light spirits. When Atevo is hugging the wolf you notice the white mark is gone. Plus when the wolf is watching them fly away it is still gone, leaving a pure black wolf instead.

In my theory she did this to show that she was in both worlds, so Atevo could see that, which he did, but he misunderstood. He thought that the wolf was supposed to be in the spirit world, when infact she already was in both. Oh, and maybe he still has the mark to help other spirits? WOW this was complicated to whrite, hope someone understands what my theory is.

That's my take on the whole thing. While it doesn't tell you how either of them got down off the mountain, the skeleton is her father, and the wolf I'm assuming to be the wolf-cub she saved. Hence why the wolf was 'perfect for the job'. One life saved in return for guidance for another.

Means it was very well written. I felt upset after seeing the ending, couldn’t even sleep. This game was a story first and a game second in my opinion.
I think they left the wolf (with saying goodbye) because they knew it wasn't fair to take the wolf when her/his life was yet to end. Life is a journey that decides what will happen next and the wolf still had a to finish it's journey. I don't now what the wolf still had to do but the after life wasn't ready for her/him.
I've only seen the beginning and the end of this game. There's going to be no delay in me buying this, and I will be watching no walk throughs, gameplay videos, or reviews. This looks to be a game I will definitely enjoy.
I'm very late to reply but I think they left the wolf because it would be unfair to take its life. I think it's simply just not it's time yet and I'm pretty sure they'll meet when it's time has come.
