    Soren Baker definitely broke it down and has a valid point, all 3 albums are classics but Dre’s vocals definitely help’s out with any project the Dr. has done. The Chronic -1992 album was way more balanced with all the original death row artists. What makes the Chronic 92 better is the production and the bigger variety of artist all through the album track lists and Dre’s vocals especially .

    The Chronic hands down because it introduced us to Snoop. After hearing the Chronic I couldn't wait for Snoop solo album. But, Dre definitely is better as producer than a rapper. Anything Dre touches is 🔥 especially when I heard California Love.

      I think to this day Snoops Doggystyle is the most anticipated album of all time in Hip Hop. I know it held the record for pre release sales for a long time and might even still hold that record. I’m not positive on the last part. I graduated high school in 1995 and all those albums like “The Chronic”,”Doggystyle” “Regulate G Funk Era” came out during my high school years. Man West coast hip hop was dominating the hip hop scene from 1988-1995. Don’t get me wrong Biggies “Ready to Die “ in 1994 was the shit. Big is my favorite rapper ever followed by IceCube. Also Illmatic had come out,Mobb Deep with “The Infamous”,Public Enemy with “Fear of the Black Planet”,GZA which “Liquid Swords”(which is in my top ten hip hop albums of all time),Gangstar dropped a few dope albums in the 90’s,A Tribe Called Quest, which Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders Wu-Tang with Enter The 36th Chamber and Forever. Raekwon - Only Built For Cuban Linx. The 90’s was the greatest era for every genre of music PERIOD. Bands like Nirvana,Tool,Alice in Chains,STP,Pearl Jam,Soundgarden,Sonicyouth and that list goes on and on. Every genre of music in the 90’s was dope. I don’t know what’s going on today but it’s nothing compared to the 90’s.

      @tomking7080 I graduated in 1992 a couple of years before you. I love the Chronic and Doggystyle. But, I'm a Pac fan, so I'm loving All Eyez On Me and Me Against the World. I also think Purple Rain to.

    • @tomking7080
      @tomking7080 11 месяцев назад

      @@Ms.Federally.Official-Matthews I hear ya bro. I’m a massive PAC fan as well. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and everyone in my high school was listening to West Coast rap because during that era Phoenix followed LA and the whole California scene. I’m a hip hop and music head and I listened to everything from 2 Live Crew,KRS-1,LL Cool J,Beastie Boys,Above The Law,Too Short and the list goes on. As far a a rapper I think that Big was the best to ever do it. When it comes to worldwide influence it’s definitely Pac. Pac was also more versatile with his songs. He could do “Hit ‘Em Up” and “I get around” to “Keep your head up “and “Dear Mama “. All I know is that our generation,Gen X,lost the 2 greatest hip hop artists of all time in a 6 month period. Looking back at being almost 46 years old they were kids bro. 24 and 25. I know that you are considered a adult at 18 but your not. Those two young men hadn’t even started their lives and they were taken away over stupidity. Pac over a fight which he shouldn’t of been in and Big because Suge needed his revenge in my opinion.

    Doggystyle was a perfect album. Just like all eyes on me, AC/DC back n black, Eminem Marshall Matthers LP, GNR appetite for destruction. Imo

    That's easy. The first chronic by the time 2000 came out the energy around it fell apart not to say it wasn't good it didn't have that feel like the original

    I prefer the OG Chronic over 2001 and Doggystyle. The production was funkier and more colorful than 2001 (Although 2001 is probably the best mixed hip-hop album I've ever heard), and there's a bit more substance in the lyrical content than on Doggystyle. I rank it about #3 on my all time hip-hop album list.

    Man… Doggystyle a hair over the Chronic
    2001 is cool but the replay value isn’t the same and it sure isn’t iconic as the OG. Doggystyle and OG are perfectly produced and mixed. 2001 to me is a tad over produced albeit still dope

    With Soren on this. Dre is the best non-rapper since Eazy-E. He's a presence that is missing on Doggystyle.

    Doggystyle is better cause it also had a stronger finish in the 2nd half of the album. Vs The Chronic. And it would’ve been dope having Dre rappin on there, Maybe that’s why they scrapped the OG Version of “The Next Episode”

    Absolutely Warren G doesn’t get enough credit for his contributions to West Coast hip hop. If it wasn’t for Warren G and then later DMX Def Jam would of went out of business

    It's The Chronic Album because it was one that started the Death Row ball to roll but, I think because that album had so much success it was easier to duplicate the formula if you would. You have to exclude Chronic 2001 and put Dogg Food in its place in my opinion. It's all West Coast Funk at the end of the day.
