American Bison Return to Smithsonian's National Zoo

I've heard rumors about the bison exhibit being temporary. Is this true?

no i doubt they would spend all that money for a temporary exhibit

MammothProductionInc Well a zoo is really not the same as like a real estate agency : and All this hype for a temp exhibit? they made a website for them 2 videos about them a naming ceremony. i went to the zoo today and saw them and there were bison flags all over the zoo : so i doubt this is a temp exhibit from all that

MammothProductionInc Well unlike many new exhibit's this one is an old exhibit just remade for them i think this is where the old camel yard was before they moved to the exhibit where the horses are today and another thing is this is really just in the weirdest place ever right behind the pandas and basically in the zoo in your backyard exhibit i mean there are MANY thing's different about this exhibit then all the others and the Biggest difference is why the zoo brought back the species [i said brought back because they got 2 new one's instead of bring the 2 they already own back] that is the animal that lliterally is the reason the national zoo is here today.

It's great that the National Zoo is getting bison again, but the supposed thousands of bison that they talk about are not true bison. They are a mix of buffalo and cow. The last remaining true bison are in Yellowstone park and they are in peril. The Montana livestock producers are systematically killing them.
