Wow. I visited the National Zoo in 1998, shortly before Hsing Hsing died. The exhibit was super depressing and dank, and all we could see of the panda was its back paw. This new exhibit is absolutely gorgeous! I need to head back and visit! (I've been to D.C. twice since then, but both times were because I was writing about the Honor Flight and couldn't get away to see the zoo).
The sloth bears are always hanging out in their den behind the conservation sign. It makes for a great view when they come out because the entrance is right by the glass, but that doesn’t always happen.
hi zoo tours, this is me the guy that got accepted to work as zookeeper in the nearby zoo just wanna give you an update on my work... it's fun but also mindblown since my first work is tiger and hippo which is pretty scary at the first place lol. But, after couple of month i'm getting closer to the tiger that i looked for which is kinda cool to know. and seeing new trainee's is kinda fun by joking around try to scare'em in work, but still trying to keep the respect on the animals. By seeing your channel improve so much since day 1 and i hope there will be more people wanna be a zookeeper's and start to care about the endangered wildlife by seeing your videos.
This exhibit looks amazing, I’ve actually seen all the animals except the Giant Panda and Salamander at other zoos I’ve been to, but the exhibits look so much better at this zoo, hope to visit it at some point
This place brings back huge nostalgia. I used to visit the zoo when my family lived in the D.C area, and even though I was quite young, this zoo is one of my favorites and a lot of the memories are still fresh. Can't wait to reminisce on my old hometownish zoo (since we also visited the one in Baltimore sometimes) and great video!
It's about time you visited my local zoo. Also, I know better than anybody how bad the parking is at this zoo. It's easier to just take an Uber to places in D.C.
Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing were the names of the original pandas that were introduced to the zoo during the Nixon presidency. Ling-Ling was the female, Hsing-Hsing was the male.
Hi there Zoo Tours! I have to thank you very much! You Inspired me to make a Zoo and Aquarium tour channel! I have a question, What camera and microphone do you use? Thank you and keep up the great videos!
This for anybody who wants Marlene the Otter into a movie and don't want to wait forever for Madagascar 4: Marlene in Kung Fu Panda 5! Marlene in Kung Fu Panda 5! Marlene in Kung Fu Panda 5! Marlene in Kung Fu Panda 5! Marlene in Kung Fu Panda 5! For Marlene to be in Kung Fu Panda 5, she needs to wear a closed vest and pants, have green eyes, be named Malin and be part of Po's kung fu student team. I also want somebody in Santa Barbara who visit small-clawed otters at their zoo to work with Dreamworks of making it happen for Kung Fu Panda 5 and have the writers of the film use nicer ideas for her in the movie than the ideas that were used for her in the Penguins show. Also, she should be played by Hailee Steinfeld.
isn’t it a little over 3 months before they are allowed to name them? Also, aren’t pandas only kept in 2 other facilities other than DC now? San Diego’s pandas were returned to china in April, though I believe they will be acquiring pandas again in the future.
@@annsmith1467 Got info from several members of a zoo enthusiast site. I'm guessing they've spoken to docents who have stated the zoo will not change the exhibit or replace the pandas because they'll be getting them back. When? No one knows - and I bet the zoo definitely won't say anything or even cause speculation until the deal is done.
@@ZooTours I know it's like a hard suggestion to be done, but I definitely think you'd enjoy seeing some of the zoos right here in Brazil. We definitely have the best zoos of Latin America
Wow dude, you really need more subs. Great editing, footage, and the effort you put into your videos is obvious. Amazing job!

Another thing is that Marlene should have something in common with Po and be edited by the Kung Fu Panda designers.

Yes, San Diego will be getting their pandas again in the near future, so eventually what I said will be correct again.
Zoo Tours thanks for clarifying that!
Zoo Tours SDZ will be getting pandas in the near future? Is this official? We’ve seen nothing posted about it on Facebook.

Nope
