I got one to replace an Orra SX that I have as a 'beater' combo that I take around as a spare or on camping trips. Once weather clears I'll give her a good run through. The Orra performed surprisingly well for its price. Had to keep the mag brakes on almost 75% but it casts really far.
I know what you mean..I think Abu is just following color trends. Black out your product and you can appeal to some. Especially vs the target market 13 fishing is going for Plus I feel this would be for those that are Abu loyal but want something a bit more than entry level black Max reels and missed out on the Revo price drop.
I haven't taken it out on the water yet but I spooled it up with some cheap Diawa 50lb braid and took it out to a field to tune it with a 1/2 oz jig and I almost spooled it on the first cast with the brakes halfway on.
Just got my new Fuego CT, and tested it out today. Judging from my own experience with BPS Qualifier, Lew's, and Revo, I think it's gonna be the winner for this shootout. Of course it all depends on with weight you're casting. But for ~1/2 oz, Fuego CT is really superb. Once I put some ceramic bearings on, I believe it'll handle finesse pretty well, too.
No actually I unsubscribed because they were all about the two brands. But this video popped up because I was looking at the Revo X videos. It should be cool to see a 6 way shoot out.
@@lucassimoes7411 actually bought it from Aliexpress 😂 200HS at a good discount for like 90€. And yes 100% original. Abu Garcia quality is not the best. Daiwa and Shimano is the way to go.
The slx is more accurate on difficult cast but not much distance, the revo x can cast a mile but not very accurate when it comes to flipping and pitching
New subscriber here! I have the Abu Revo X. I have had problems with the side plate popping off randomly upon casting or while in a rod holder in my yak. This will be my second time sending it in for warranty. I was informed by an Abu rep that there might be a known issue with the this model. The first time I sent it in they returned it with a new side cover and what seemed to be a "shaved down" side cover removal button. I am wondering if you have experienced this or if anyone else has that you have heard of? Great channel btw.

Couldn't find a schematic at the time (this July) and ended up calling Abu for a part number, which is when I was informed that there is a known issue and to send it in. Kind of a bummer because I do like the reel.
I had a pro max and after a bit it started to make a clicking noise on the thumb bar mid cast if that makes sense. I switched to Lew's but I like the look of these and I saw them for 80$ at walmart. Anybody say it's worth it? Walmart has the combo for 120$ too and that sound like a really good deal
TEXAS RIGGED I just picked it up at Walmart too for $80. Been using it for frogging and flipping with 50lb braid and it doesn't miss a beat with the heavy drag.

I've been throwing square bills and spinner baits on it. I'm gonna get another for worms and call it a day. You can't beat this price either. I'm glad Garcia fixed the cheap plasticy thumb bars. That's what kept me from buying them for so long but it feels like home now
Are spool the same on pro max and revo X can you please check it are those exactly the same ones.Looking for some lighter spool but find only for pro max and non for Revo X if those spools are the same so ill take the risk and buy one made for pro max :D .Thanks
Hi there , im planning to buy a reel exclusively for saltwater use and did a bit research on saltwater reels . One of the name that came up is abu garcia revo4x inshore which is within my budget , the price is 165 usd in india. And Curado K301 which is 225 USD was suggested by few , but im not sure whether its a saltwater reel or not. Kindly do opine. In your opinion hows the revo 4x ( inshore is same as revo4x except corrosion resistant ) ? Also while compared to curado K ?

Damn Abu, 19 grams??? Really hoping the new Premier and STX are closer in weight to the MGL Chronarch and Zillion SV TW. I know the upper level Abu reels utilize the Infini 2 spool which is the short shaft...
Sure hope so, I'm looking for one more setup, would love to try an Abu, but I'm just not sure it will touch the Chronarch or Zillion. The Gen 4's seem pretty solid though, and I'm really excited to see how the Premier and STX compare in their price markets...

Depends on the fish, a cheap real vs a more expensive reel is mostly about drag. I fish for steelhead primarily and some salmon. When your drag is getting abused by a big fish the cheaper reels will have a drag that gets jerky or sticky, a more expensive reel has a smooth drag no matter how much line is getting stripped. The surging drag is how you loose big fish.
Nathan Gibson can you swap spool in between them? Just looking for something lighter in china just cant find for Revo X and plenty for Pro Max :D. Thanks
I'm really not a fan of the Revo x. I can consistently cast my black max about twice as far. Also it's not a big deal but the Revo x is so noisy in comparison.
I have the Revo X in 7.3.1 gear. The reel is so smooth and sexy. That 18lb drag is also very nice.
Reel test, I bought a clear reel stand for my desk in office. My daiwa is on there now.

The pro max also has the clicking tension knob. At 69 bucks. Abu Garcia makes quality stuff.

I believe it replaced the Abu Garcia orra sx because it became discontinued once this was mention on icast

Actually got both. But Tatula for me was better. Since I fish mostly for big pike. Casts great large lures. Revo x was not for me unfortunately

never had that happen with mine, but then again I dont use it much. are you accidentally moving the switch that releases the side plate?

Love my revo left hand 7 3 1 I fish louisiana marsh for redfish, flounder, hell even a shark. Plus black matches with anything

all abu garcia reels are made in the abu garcia factory, they also make mitchell reels there because of a bad contract from years ago
