i have used a lot of reels..
i tried, Daiwa Lexa, Tatula FW, so disappointing... i also tried Steez A, same disappointing..
but the Tatula SV TW is Good...
i tried Shimanos, Caius, SLX, Casitas, Curado I, Curado K, Curado 71, Curado DC, Bantam MGL, Antares A, All of them ARE REEAL GOOD ! i even not disappointed by the Caius, coz cheap price but it perform real good.
now i only left 2 reel for use, its the Bantam MGL XG, & Antares A HG

Metanium MGL and Bantam MGL are my 2 favorite reels in my collection. Amazing quality!!!

well on Tacklewarehouse the only spinning reel on their best sellers list is the Stradic Ci4+ which is like a $200 reel

I'm with you. Surprised the Alderbarans didn't finish a lot higher given all the BFS style fishing they do and the fact they produce most BFS rods. I do love my 3 Aldies. Great job again and thank you!
I think BFS has shifted to the stream trout fishing in Japan.
I have 4 2016 MET MGL and I have 2 2020 MET MGLs. Man what a great reel.
How have you 2020s held up?? Still running smooth like a top. How do they compare to your 16s?
I have been living in Nagoya, Japan for over two years and I used to like Shimano, but currently Daiwa is my favorite fishing brand. For instance, what I could see is that Japanese people like to buy 2nd hand (used) "made in japan" products and those are more valuable. Also, I have noticed that Daiwa 2nd hand baitcasting and spinning reels are the most valuable and are sold immediately when become available. I ve been still waiting for my 2nd hand Steez daiwa for the past year and there are some many shimanos available. This is my opinion and daiwa Catalina and Saltiga are my favorite spinning reels too. This is my interpretation of "quality & performance" when you have a 2nd hand market as well!

I don’t understand...Shimano dominates the market (apparently in both the us and japan) but all you hear are people screaming “DAIWA”...”GET THE TATULA SV CT 69SX”. And it’s not like it’s isolated either...it’s all over the bass forums, youtube comments, everywhere. Bass resource feels like it’s been invaded by daiwa fanatics in recent years. Maybe it’s just a really loud community or something...
I use shimanos almost exclusively but the last thing on my agenda is to go around, trying to get people to “my side” (ugh...)
They are both close. Metanium is very similar in function to Steez. Smooth lots of upgrades available. Metanium will cast farther Steez SV is better for control. If you are open water get the Metanium is you are precision casting get the Steez. They both are exceptional reels.
I wish Daiwa would make a non tws reel

That’s funny...I feel the opposite way. Daiwas I’ve found to be far more controlled and user friendly as far as preventing backlash, etc...but with Shimanos, I’ve always had much better close quarters accuracy since they’re so open and free-flowing

I stake no chips into what's popular, because a lot of people are fooled by marketing, but you can rest assured that if you buy Shimano, you are getting quality, functionality, and dependability. I feel that the Japanese market understands that form follows function more than the American market does and they know that Shimano has it all in spades.

I think BFS is more popular for trout now in Japan than bass fishing
I am happy with my Stradic C3000 FL.
I also own a few Stella & Twinpower but there no worry of the Stradic getting scratched up.
Would you choose the Curado K over the 2020 tatula sv tw?

because the Curado K still casts further even though it's 3 years old lol. and you can't even have braid to leader go through the t wing, which sucks for those of us that use braid to leaders.
I wouldn't and I have both. Tatula SV is much more controlled. If you are strictly distance curado is a yard or two more.
@@Jon-nz3dm u use the longest leader i ever seen，here in thailand everybody use braid amd no body have problem with it
张泰 3-10 ft usually, some use up to 15-20ft leaders
Honestly I would pick the new Tatula unless I needed to bomb out long distances. Its like an ounce lighter and can handle the lighter stuff better. The Curado is still a level above the Tatula in smoothness though
Hi! What do you think of the new Bantam? I thought it would cast a lot farther then it did. Light lures and Heavy. My Curado 71 seems to cast further and less backlashes. Your take??
The Bantam is a great solid reel thats smooth as glass but I would not buy it again because of the weight. My curado 71 is the most finicky Shimano I have.
@THE REEL TEST It's incredible how much effort is putting Daiwa into Tatula series, The difference between Steez and Tatula nowadays are only weight, materials and ball bearings...But in terms of performance I think both are very close each other so... I think that Daiwa must do something with his Flagship...it should be much more superior to a current Tatulas , if not don't have too much sence to extrapay the huge money difference.
The Steez is a fraction smoother overall than the Tatula Elite and the new SV but not for double the cost of the others

Get them from Japan. I got my first and only one from Ebay. 280 and shipped within a week.
Hi can you do a test between 19 Scorpion MGL and 20 Metanium and if its worth difference of the price. It will be interesting if you can specify for the reels you test minimum and maximum weight it can cast. Im beginer and beginers wants a reel who can do almost everything :) I know its imposible. Thank you for nice work I learned a lot since I follow your channel.
If I were you I would get an SLX XT if you are just starting out and want a quality reel that can do it all for a great price
Great videos. When casting 2_10g lures which of the alderbaran reels should I choose ? . Does the alderbaran bfs cope the same as the 30 mgl and 51mgl
the BFS will cast all lures in that weight range better

The Reel Test, I was wondering do you sell any of your equipment that you've had for a while that you don't really use anymore. For example your shimano conquest bfs? I love conquest series, I own conquest 200dc 2019 version an getting interested in bfs due to your videos. Any of your stuff for sale from shimano?
There are reels that I buy for the channel and the ones I buy for myself. Ill eventually give away the ones I buy for the channel but the ones I buy for me I keep. The conquest bfs is one im keeping. going to do a long term vid on it sometime soon hopefully.

do you prefer the 30 or 31 aldebaran reel and how does this compare to the size like the 200 and 150's?
They have them on the japan lure shop at a fairly decent price. I like buying from them because you always get a gift.

Shimano fan boys are always happy. We buy Shimano to maintain that happiness. I have two Shimanos that are 30 years old and still function flawlessly.

No mentioning of any TD Zillion platform reels? Not even in the top 30? This is rigged man :) Anyway, my favorite is Daiwa SV103, a classic TD-Z platform reel with a SV spool.
it may have been in the 11-30 placings but they didnt list the details of the zillion mentioned there.
My personal opinion I think Shimano has went down the drain compared to new daiwa... I think when Shimano produced the core and metanium mg 07 they were on top on the game and couldn’t be beat. But now I rather Rather take the old Shimano reels rather than the new one.

The Antares is so bulky and heavy. I don’t get the appeal of it.
I finally bought a SLX DC, I put kastking florocarbon on it. It cast's ok but I like my kastking Royal Legend Elite, and kastking Megajaws both with florocarbon on them I like them better. My kastking Spartacus Maximus which I put that 9 strand j braid on it, I cast it further.
Curado didn't even crack the top 30....Surprised by it's popularity...
