What about this sounds anything like deftones ? Deftones hasent don’t anything close to this heavy in a very long time
@@Chadreactzchorus chord choice, chord progression and the fact that, while you might be right about the length of time since deftones big heavies, it still exists and godfathers aren't related to the kids they godparent so any influences will be small.

@@manyhandsmakelightsnacks I understand ur point. I just feel like every melodic metalcore band always gets lumped in with deftones because it has downtuned guitars and airy vocals. I love deftones just as much as the next guy, but I feel like these newer bands are doing it better than deftones at this point. I see so many people lump bands like loathe, sleep token, and love is noise into the same “deftones” type band category. While I’m sure these bands draw some inspiration from deftones, I feel like they have their own flow and have created something more interesting than what current deftones is doing.
@@Chadreactz fair point my friend. i'm 42 and have been on the deftones train since their 2nd album as none of my friends, or i, were cool enough to get on to "adrenaline" and i listened to "white pony" solidly for a year! it's part of my blood now so i can't not hear it.
i played some of "this place will become your tomb" to my 13yo and then some of "white pony" right after as he is moving toward metal and he gets it but, he would agree that modern noises are more interesting.
it's a genre progression, and i love it, i'm just built on the older foundations
@@manyhandsmakelightsnacks oh yeah man ofc. Obviously deftones paved the way for all these newer bands no question, they are legends. I just feel deftones might be passing by as time goes on, they’re still pretty young don’t get me wrong, but they’re live performances are getting exponentially worse

It's mixed with rock. It's alternative rock mixed with metal. I like how she did that that's very creative. I love music so much. You in o'ryan, thank you for what you do in all the metal reactors. All I can say for sure, is I'm thankful for the video, because this is definitely going on my banger list.
