That final shot really helped, because I wasn't seeing the pattern after the first 3 rows. It is cool to see the ideas crocheters have had over the years. Probably just experimenting -- but these have come out well and have made it to my eyes.

That is a very beautiful textured fabric; I like how it's the same on both front & back! They look like double crochet stitches to me! I'm from America & I usually wrap the hook twice with a chain already on the hook, for a treble & once for a double crochet! Am I missing something here?? 🙂
Tried this today and it did not go as planned. I apparently dont have the ability to swap the stitches that actually make the waffle pattern... so im doing the same stitches all the way up (not alternating them in the next row). What I have is a blanket with “waves”. Ill try again after this one now that I have a better understanding of what im doing wrong. Ive decided to finish it the way im already doing it cuz it still looks nice and is actually very lovely. Even though I did it wrong, thank you for showing me a new way to make a different kind of blanket.
Sarah Wiffen I love this st pattern too. Hopefully you’ve made the cover. But just in case:make a chain as wide as your pillow. Just make sure the chain count is even number of stitches. Make it has high/tall as you need to cover your pillow. You’ll need to make two and stitch them together🤗

On a Tight Weave, how do you correct a mistake made on foundation line and find you made 2 back stitches and then a front so it will not show. Thank you very much. Love your videos. I had 2 back stitches so I took and brought both forward at the same time. When I did that it made 1 forward stitch and was back in line. I can't even see where it was unless you look super close! 😀

Maybe a stitch the same each row. Would love more tutorials/ stitches using this super chunky with 10mm hook. You crochet like my late Grandmother from Limerick and she claimed crochet originated in Limerick Ireland. That's meant as a compliment she was also gifted with the hook. I'm about to start a king size blanket for my bed. And I love this stich! It has a lot of texture and I like that. But would it look good in a blanket yarn? Like Bernat blanket yarn?
I am literally a 3 week crocheter. I decided to just play with yarn and found it is very natural for me to tangle yarn in a very organized way. I can't stop now. I began a variation of this in bernat blanket yarn. It is super fun and on trend with that bulky appearance but not as formal as this sample piece. I am making a bedroom chair throw and a matching bed scarf for the foot of the bed for our log vacation home. It will go well with a refined but cozy decor. The bernat blanket yarn would make this family room friendly, kid friendly, pet friendly but not formal living room friendly or gift quality for your elegant but aging grandmother or mom. It just lacks the polished and put together look that this showed.
I’m making a pillow with this stitch and I’ve cobbled up a large cake of yarn although I love how it’s coming along !! A large blanket would be quite an expense -
I'm just making this into a large blanket and am starting to think about a boarder. I really want something to match the chucky texture/nature of the blanket. Any suggestions?
I am a 2 week beginner myself. I have made a scarf for my hubby and am using this tutorial to make a beautiful red blanket for our bed. I have fallen head-over-heels in love with crocheting and cannot see myself ever stopping! Keep at it and I am certain you will make many wonderful things!

Hi, the stitch probably wouldn't be as defined as that yarn is quite 'fluffy' but you can do it with any yarn you like :)
