    I was at The Flock Fiber Festival in Seattle. It was my first yarn festival and now I’m hooked. I too bought lots of yarn and one of the Flock bags. I looked for you at the festival but sadly never saw you. I went both days and I think Sunday was my favorite. I was able to meet the two ladies who own Spincycle Yarn and they were just lovely and kind and humble. I was a true fan girl. You are right, Chip and Aaron from Fiber Hustle live in Seattle. They are planning on signing up for a vendor booth at the festival next year. I have one of Chip’s bags and some of Aaron’s sock yarn and I really like both. I live near the Tolt yarn shop in Carnation so I have of course been there. I’ve also been to the Lamb and Kid and La Mercerie on Bainbridge Island and your description of both are spot on. Loved your podcast so much.

    My allergis are bothering me.🤧 Took a med and was watching Needles at the Ready Podcast. I woke up to you two lovely ladies! I don't know how I found them to begin with, cuz I'm not a knitter. But, I loved watching. I love the talent of needlework. I never learned to knit, but can crochet a bit. Arthritis limits my hadiwork now. My husband knits! I always run hot, so I don't wear many sweaters. I love watching you two! Tracie strongly resembles one of my husband's cousins, and I appreciate the beautiful sister vibes. (I lost my sis in 2018 @ age 54.) So, I have subscribed to enjoy your talent. Serendipity!!❤❤

I am watching y’all to get my mind off of my next treatment steps. I would be at the end of my fight but they have found a lymph node that was positive in my mid chest. I plan on watching y’all while doing my treatments! Love you both bunches!

    Seeing you both at Flock was a HIGHLIGHT for me!! You are so sweet and positive to everyone. Thank you for not running when you saw me gushing! I also had a great time there and purchased gorgeous yarn I can't wait to knit. I wish you had been able to go into JEMS Luxe Yarn booth to see their beautiful, colorful yarn! Their minis are amazing--especially the chunky ones. Your alpaca story was HILARIOUS! My husband and I went to San Juan Island for 2 nights after Flock where we stayed at a BnB that had goats and alpacas. Luckily we did not get spat on!! We went to an alpaca farm as well (where the alpacas were also well behaved), and I purchased alpaca yarn there that is dreamy!! I have also been to Tolt, and I've knitted with YOTH yarn, which is lovely.

    Great episode especially all the local Seattle area shops. My son, DIL & 3 grandkids live north of Seattle in Shoreline. I’ve been to the area several times including Bainbridge Island when Churchmouse Yarns were there. Also visited Tolt yarns (great shop), NorthWest yarns in Bellingham & other shops. The ice cream shop you mentioned is wonderful too. Our last visit we grabbed ice cream & ate it on the ferry.

    Thanks for a great show. I could immediately tell you had lots to say, show, share, and tell; that your Seattle trip was wonderful, and you have enjoyed your time away, but were glad to connect with us, and have been busy! Loved it ALL. Thanks for updates on the fires, we in South Dakota have had many days where our air quality has been bad from those fires devastating Canada, and the horror of Hawaii 😢 is beyond words. And yet, we unfortunately have climate change deniers.
    I’m always glad when you speak to the tough issues that we all face 💛
    I see so many things I would love to attempt, but am really trying to be cautious of my fixed income in this inflationary time.
    It is such a joy to listen to you, and your sharing of knitting and your lovely friendships. You widen my world 🌎. Thank you💛

    • @dianebell3653
      @dianebell3653 Год назад

      Yes there are climate change deniers. There are also people who blame everything on climate change.
      Of the wildfires in Greece this year, 667 were caused by humans, either arson or negligence and there is video footage of downed electricity cables initially starting the fire in Maui.
      We can blame a lot of stuff on climate change but not everything.

    I don’t know if you follow Leslie Friend (A Friend to Knit With). She knits beautiful garments in gorgeous yarns, but she totally recommends acrylic for her Butterfly Baby Blanket and her Shrug Pattern which is knitted in Hue and Me. I’ve knitted two of them. Great for gifts when you don’t know how things will be laundered. I was surprised to find this yarn in the UK, and I was surprised how nice it is! It will make a gorgeous granny square blanket. I want one now!! I’ve just recently discovered granny squares and I’m totally down that rabbit hole. 😅 By the way, I also nearly peed my pants listening to the alpaca spitting story. 😂
