The first girl seemed to just take the tips off and leave them, which is probably why the seam is bigger but its less steps. The 2nd girl seemed to have interchangeable tips to allow for a wider range of clip on lengths. I think they're 2 takes on the same innovation, but they should co-patent for both their benefit, so no matter if someone else produces it they BOTH get paid.
Ehh I understand why you think they should paten it but at the same time this is somthing everyone could make if they have a 3d printer, what’s going to sell is their designs not just the idea. So really it makes no sense to paten the technology.
I believe both of them bc I swear I had the same idea in my head just no interest nor the skill it takes to create them so they're both really admirable for getting it done and pulling it off so well. Both their nails concept are amazing
Reminds me of how two creators in US and UK both created comic strips of a character called Dennis the Menace about a naughty schoolboy, but neither of them knew the other existed! Parallel ideas are fascinating insights into how human brains work!
This is a case of simultaneous invention. Two people came up with the same concept at similar times in different parts of the world. I think if they worked together, they could really make something amazing. Even if they don't work together, it only adds options to the market and increases the chances for more innovation. I don't even like painting my nails, it makes them feel like they're suffocating, but I have been learning about nails recently because I need them for my larp character--same with makeup. But seriously, these kinda like awesome.
They should patent this idea. Corporate nail makers will reverse engineer it, patent it, and make millions of dollars from these people’s ideas. If that happens, they run the risk of getting sued for their own creation later on.
@@Strawberries1994design student here. They can't really patent the idea but can patent the production process and the specifics. Like how the mechanism works etc.
@@Strawberries1994 I commented that because designs in itself is really hard to patent. Because you have to prove you were the first one to come up with such idea. Whereas a process is a lot harder to disprove the ownership of. For context and credibility I'm a design student and had to learn these things.
@nikitatavernitilitvynova design as in how it is shaped and how it works is not hard to patent... that's actually what you are supposed to patent, that's literally THE PROCESS... you are saying the exact same thing as me... I have a degree in illustration, illustrators do design too... and a big part of my career involved learning every detail of ethics, law and copyright and how to patent things in every category.
Yeah, I agree with your main point - there have been many examples of similar or even the same things being invented at the same time in different places. And I honestly think that it’s great that both of them decided to create these designs and (as far as I know) are not openly beefing with each other? I guess it’s just some people in the comments trying to portray them as enemies for having similar businesses.
I mean it's entirely possible Hannah saw the first video about it, it's not a *lot* of views, but if you're already viewing nail content... fully possible. Equally possible is that they both came up with it independently. Either way, if neither are feeling hurt about it, there's no reason they can't both have their own product in the same vein. Mostly this comes down to a common issue: fans getting hurt on behalf of their faves and causing problems/arguments that don't have a purpose.
it could be either way tbh she could have seen and decided to steal but she couldve seen it and after the creator didnt post anymore, privated, and basically disappeared for a year she mightve thought they gave up and made her own could also be she was unaware its not original i believe hannah, coincidences happen 🤷♀️
I find it hard to believe that Hannah could’ve been responding to the first video when her first prototypes were made back in either June or July. Her product also requires a lot more calculations because of the replacement tip so she had been working on that for quite some time which lines up with the prototype in July.
@@pithygrapefruit The year is what's most important to consider - the original video was posted in early 2023, whereas Hannah's are newer. With 25K views on the video that eventually got privated, it's not too much of a stretch to say that it's entirely possible Hannah, who is already being served nail art videos on her FYP, saw it. The lie about the patent makes things kind of sketchy to begin with - since it takes multiple years (yes, even in Brazil) to get a patent. Patent pending perhaps is what she means? Which gives similar protections? Either way, the possibility that she either did or didn't see the video and either did or didn't just come up with it independently doesn't really change things if neither of them take offense to it. Should a legal issue arise, there's enough timestamped evidence to prove the other ones came first, but it doesn't seem like either have a problem with the other existing - just with having to deal with the freaks starting wars in the comments.
The thing is.. you can patent the specific design but you can't patent the idea.. is like trying to patent "table", you can't...but you totally can patent a design of a table.... . even I had this idea a couple time like hundreds of women have said already... and the way of attaching and detaching is different, so nothing to argue here.. both creators are owners of their own idea
I think it would be good if Hannah said something about it too. It’s obvious neither copied each other, I’ve also thought about clip on nails before (but have no relevant experience so. Yknow) It’s really not that crazy.
It happens quite often that people will invent the same solution; it’s happened many, many times over the history of the world. I think this is just one of those instances. They can individually patent their processes, I think; both of them have different processes, different mechanisms etc.
Not a nail-girlie myself, but these two creators designs are really cool and it's awesome that they're both trying to fill a niche they want to see. I really hope there's no animosity between the two of them because of this coincidence and that they can collab at some point.
It seems totally reasonable that they both thought of it lol. Ive even thought of how it would be cool for something like this to exist before i even saw these ones
the same thing happend to the lofi music, a guy in Japan and another guy from the US? made the same thing creating the lofi music without knowing each other, it happend randomly almost at the same time, we are over 8 billion ppl, are ppl now really expect an idea to be just a one time thing from one person? This stuff already happend even in ancient times, lol. Also, the concept of these nails is something that is used in our day to day life's, just added to nails, like the popsocket, where you can also change the design, or Lego, or other things that are detachable or even changed the attachment. I have seen similar things with Juweliers like necklaces, really thin and "fragile" but actually hold really well. or another Exempel, "I have short hair but I want a long ponytail!" attaches one of these long ponytail hair clip extensions. (the ones I see in so many Chinese Videos that look extremely good and realistic, saw a girl really having one of them, I was so confused because I knew she had short hair but now it was long, then she showed me and i was like "oh yeah, have seen those, dame!")
finding out that two wonderful ppl had the same idea that literally can save me only wearing nails for like five days. I defenitally will try both of their produce out.
i was watching this whole thing go down just a few days ago, their ideas are different and both amazing, i hope people know that more than one person can have similar ideas
the way i was just recently whining about not being able to enjoy having long nails because i play guitar and piano. im glad i came across these creators from your channel, i can finally rock some press ons :)
This idea/concept has probably existed since long nails as fashion has existed. We just now have the technology as well as that technology being widespread which has made this possible and viable. Not surprising at all that these two have come out. There's probably more out there, we just don't know about them.
They both definitely have the same idea since even i had the same idea too. Everyone with the long nail issue definitely does at one point i think. Having it done though, good on them. I think its ok for both of them to try and make it since the technilogy behind it is different. I do think FOR NOW as we see it, quti's clip on method would definitely keep the nails on more sturdy and longer though, but we shall see how hannah does hers.
lol If my orchestra instructor in high school caught us with something like that we would be out of the class till it was off our hands. At least the left hand. Nail length can't go past the meat of the finger. Also you might have to dig on this one cus I swear this is another (my tired old brain remember this in the 90s) moment again. Another item that use to have something similar that was forgotten cus it just ended up a bad idea in the long run
10:13 almost impossible for multiple women to steal from each other. This just seems like an idea that dozens of the women with the ability to create came up with. They don't seem very easy to make and all are slightly different
I saw that and thought the same! I think they both had the same idea as the manafacturing process takes a while and it would’ve started before the girl who had hers handmade, but the girl who handmade it wouldn’t have seen the manafactured one as it was posted after
For press-ons, I use the sticky tape and then use glue around the tape. I also sand down the part of the nail that I'll be sticking on. They last about a week that way
ok moral of the story they have the same idea now sthu cuz none of them ACTUALLY copied the DESIGN. so its actually the ppl who made the drama instead of realizing ppl can have the same idea.
I feel like this is something that people shouldn't gatekeep or get mad over, okay sure talking about who started the idea first is fine but like to make it? I feel like we're in the era where there's no need for a monopoly business or one person doing something, just like how press ons are now trendy and so many businesses hopped on it. There doesn't seem to be a stealing situation, they both worked for the same goal - modular nails - in their own way. It would be neat if they ended up doing a cool collab together advertising each others' sets or a specially made collab series once they get to the release step. :)
9:17 that person is 100% correct.
