Great video! I used this to fix my Broil Mate up. I didn't realize how easy the replacement of the burner was! I was about to buy a new BBQ and then did a quick search and found this video... Now I have a working BBQ! Thanks!
Just had mine rebuilt after almost 12 years of use (same as yours). Canadian made, heavy aluminum cast and iron cast grates. 100% worth rebuilding. Surprise that you needed to replace cast iron grates, they should last forever. You missing top shelf on yours and I also want to point out that burner should be attached to bottom with 2 screws. Yours were most likely rusted out that's why you were able just to lift up the burner. My igniter works fine, just needed to clean contacts. Great grill and great video! Thank you!
I am still using it today and I love it. The best part is, you can still but the parts. You can spend a lot of money on a BBQ but it does the same job. Thanks for tuning in. Stevo
Excellent job. Would you send the last dinner memo to me again as I seem to have misplaced it? Original parts is the way to go for sure. Thanks for the video.
I have a small Charcoal grill with the cast iron cooking grate ..I try not to over clean everything because that is were you get the good flavor for hamburgers and brats ..Now I am hungry lol
I've rebuilt mine and lasted another ten years. I've had my broil mate over 20 years. The handle just broke off so finally bought another one. Trying to find rock grate to convert to ceramic briquettes.
I have the exact same grill. My issue is it wont go over 400°. I’ve cleaned my burner and get a nice consistent flame all the way around the burner. The flame goes up and down when I turn the dial but I’m not sure its burning at full capacity. I’m thinking its not the burner, could the valves need replacing??… any thoughts
I saved about $75. For the time it took I felt it was worth it. Now if I did not like the BBQ, I would have moved on. And the sparker did not work at that time, was a bit corroded.

They are a pretty simple appliance to work on. I really liked my Broil Mate and had no problem saving some money to tuner it up. Thanks. Stevo

Turned out good but it has been really cold here so I have not used it that much. Have a great day

Had a brat last night. I do have charcoal as well and that is really the way to go for true barbeque
nice job sir
What is the model of the bbq unit?
It is a model number 1651-54. It takes the same parts as a Broil King. Thanks for tuning in. Stevo

This unit has been great. You may have to custom design your rock grate to work but I would think it is possible. Thanks Stevo
Why did you light it that way? Didn't the button work?

It sounds like the pressure regulator that connects to your bottle. Give that a try. Stevo
Where did you buy the parts and how much did they cost?
I bought the parts at a BBQ outlet for about $160 Canadian. You can get the parts online as well.
What was the cost of the parts VS buying a whole new BBQ? Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a whole new BBQ.

Bruce sent me here lol
Thank you muchly for joining in. Stevo
