I enjoy watching these videos. Some manga recommendations of stuff I didn't see in your collection (I think) are: "I want to eat your pancreas" which is a single volume drama/shoujo. "Girl's last tour" which is a 6 volume slice of life sci-fi. "deadman wonderland" - which is a 13 volume dark shounen. I also didn't see Gantz, but I believe you said in an earlier video you hoped for a deluxe hardcover edition in the future.

Awesome video man!! I couldn’t help but notice a distinct lack of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind in your collection, I think it’d be something you’d LOVE. It’s Hayao Miyazaki’s magnum opus and honestly one of the best pieces of fiction I’ve ever read. The hardcover box set that Viz has out is just a phenomenal set of books that I think you’d kill to have in your collection. Much love man keep up the awesome content!

    Nice collection.
I would recommend Magus of the Library by Izumi Mitsu (published by Kodansha). Volumes 1-5 (Volume 6 is stated to release December) are out. It's about a kid named Theo Fumis, who is inspired by books and a central library in his country to become a librarian within that library. There's a lot of world building and focuses a lot about how to take care of books. I recommend this because you clearly enjoy taking care of your own little library and clearly enjoy books as much as the main character.

Since so many people mention it, I’m pinning this:
No, I don’t have Fairy Tale. I dropped it after about 18 volumes. I picked it up back when Kodansha originally started publishing it because I was a huge Rave Master fan, but I didn’t vibe with it. I think I gave it more than a fair chance.
Off the top of my head, a few others I’ve dropped and sold were Drifting Dragons, Gleipner, Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun… I can add to this as I recall more.
Yes, I love a lot of series, but not everything is for me and I don’t really like keeping stuff I don’t enjoy in my collection.

You're not going to vibe with everything. I collect vinyl and manga but I've been collecting vinyl longer and just like manga there are some bands and albums you just don't end up vibing with. Once my vinyl collection got too big i had to start purging out those albums that I didn't end up fully engaging with. As far as manga is concerned I'm being pretty picky with what i collect.

Your library is always a beautiful sight to behold. Would love to hear your thoughts on Case Closed when you get around to reading a good chunk of it. It's one that you don't often hear many people speak on due to the long length/financial commitment. It's a super classic series though and I loved watching the anime on adult swim growing up!

    my recommendations for you:
-yona of the dawn (a shoujo series about a deposed princess, her bodyguard, a genuis pretty boy, and four guys with dragon powers. it's my favorite manga and it has something everyone would like imo. it has some romance but mainly focuses on historical fantasy, supernatural, action and political elements)
-orange (a short time-travel shoujo romance that's contained in two chunky omnibuses from seven seas. also has a spinoff called orange:future that i need to read)
-play it cool, guys (four cool guys make stupid mistakes but are still seen as cool by mostly everyone. it's in full color!)

Hello! This was truly a wonderful tour to be apart of! I've only found you recently, and I'm so glad to have somewhere I can turn to when I don't know what to go looking for next! I would love to recommend some series if it means introducing you to them for the first time as some of these are very dear to me. Sorry for so many beforehand! I think I put too many tbh but oh well, I hope you'll find something that you enjoy!
    My personal favorites are:
    - Mushi-shi, calming short stories involving a traveling medicine man going from town to town investigating cases relating to Mushi (very similar to horror manga Mononoke, which is another great one that unfortunately does not have an English print). Hard to find and expensive (I'm still trying to save up for this one).
    - Pandora Hearts, still relatively able to find new copies online. With themes of Alice and Wonderland intertwined into the narrative, it can be quite chilling and topsy-turvy at times with cheeky humorous moments. You can really see the art evolve over time into a VERY beautiful style.
    - Blood+ and it's follow-up Blood-C (which I just learned existed). Creepy elements with action, mystery, and quite heart-warming moments (been a while since I've read). Used copies available.
    - Magi: Sinbad no Bouken/Magi: Adventured of Sinbad. If you like Magi, then you'll love this. This tells of Sinbad's youth, and how he rose into the position in which we first meet him! Some people I hear like this series more than OG Magi, but you be the judge! Available online.
Series I apologize that I'm too lazy to give descriptions for in order of my personal recommendation:
    Made in Abyss (Adventure/Fantasy/Horror)
    Yona of the Dawn (Adventure/Fantasy/Romance)
(Did you have One Punch Man?) (Action/Superhero/Comedy)
    Deadman Wonderland (Thriller/Dystopian/Post-Apocalyptic)
    Black Butler (Dark Fantasy/Supernatural/Comedy/Detective)
The Case Study of Vanitas (Dark Fantasy/Steampunk/Supernatural) & the author of Pandora Hearts
The Girl from the Other Side (Creepy/Heart-warming/Mystery/Adorable Art)
    Fairy Tail (Adventure/Fantasy/Typical Shonen)
    xxxHolic (Supernatural/Comedy/Psychological)
    Higurashi (Murder Mystery/Psychological Horror/Supernatural)
Madoka Magica (Dark fantasy/Magical Girl/Psychological Thriller)
    Jack Frost (Action/Adventure/Horror/Comedy)
    Princess Resurrection (Dark Comedy/Horror/Fantasy)
    Enjoy!

Really great collection and display set up. 2 questions:
The first is, how did you insure it?
The second is how do you decide what to collect first? I know it depends on how much you have to spend but other than that how do you decide?
I currently want to collect 3 or 4 that are already complete I just don't know what to get first. I go after availability but sometimes fear some going oop before I can get to buying them. I am currently limiting my focus to a few at a time so I don't get so overwhelmed and to prevent myself from buying and starting multiple series.
Thanks and look forward to the updated future tour!

There was also the madoka Magica wraith arc manga that just finished with it's 3rd volume and covers the gap between the end of the series and the beginning of the rebellion movie and I think it's a pretty phenomenal read!

Every time I watch these manga shelf videos, my wallet just hurts haha - super impressive collection! I know you mentioned wanting to get more in shoujo & josei (although happy to see Children of the Whales on there - that series has some of my favorite shoujo cover art), so I have a few quick recommendations, all pretty different from each other!
Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey - It's from the same author as Princess Jellyfish, and while that series is much more popular, to me Blank Canvas is her best work. Josei, semi-autobiographical, and only five volumes all in-print. Easily one of my top ten series of all time.
Yona of the Dawn - Long-running, at least for shoujo, action-adventure series that I've been reading for years (I even remember way back when Kentaro Miura did some fan art for it to help promote it). It's a lot of current readers' first dip into shoujo for good reason.
Please Save My Earth - Kinda impossible to fully collect now unfortunately, but a seminal classic in the shoujo demographic if you can find them. Full disclosure that the art and the way certain story beats are handled have shown their age a bit, so maybe worth checking out digitally first.
And as far as non-shoujo/josei - some series I really love that I think are worth looking into are:
The Girl From the Other Side - although beautiful hardcover editions are coming out now so maybe wait for those
The Case Study of Vanitas - Vampire manga usually doesn't work for me, but it's mix of action/drama/fantasy/mystery/horror/etc... reminds me a lot of FMA just with some romance elements
A Bride's Story - Some of the most gorgeous art I've seen, particularly with the detail and textile work. Historical travelogue set between different nomadic tribes and how people + communities navigate different daily life hurdles

I hope to see the shonen jump tier list soon! A lot of titles there I am not familiar with, curious which ones you find worth reading.

I LOVED the full tour of your manga collection. I have a few manga recommendations of stuff I didn't see in your collection like "fairy tail" by Hiro Mashima and got published in kodansha's it also has a finished anime and spin off manga's. "toilet bound hanako kun" by Aidalro and got published by yen press it also has a anime and a 1 volume spin off and the creators also have a book for the other works they done called "toilet bound hanako kun 0". I also saw that "deadman wonderland" wasn't there its a 13 volume dark shonen and it has a anime adaption.

Hey man. I would totally recommend Yona of the Dawn. It's a fantastic series from the Shoujo Beat line. It's the best Shoujo I've collected/read. Granted it's the only one i've read, but I digress. It's a commitment though, it's quite long. I recommend it if you accept the challenge 😁.

I do not know if you would like this book but I recommend looking at Cirque Du Freak. This series is how I got introduced to mangas. They recently rereleased it into a omnibus so maybe your local bookstore may have it.

I'm still very new to purchasing and collecting manga. One aspect that is a hurdle is dealing with hard to find out of print volumes. My current nemesis is volume 7 of Gangsta. I'm really hoping it eventually gets another printing.

The collection is looking as impressive as always. I just had 3 though - 1) Rurouni Kenshin was the only VizBig collection you didn’t have, do you prefer the singles ? 2) I really wish Trigun was re-released, hoping for the DarkHorse Deluxe edition treatment. 3) if you could start over would you use the same configuration of shelves ? I always liked the idea of custom shelves for my collection

What a great collection! Thank you for sharing it with us. I would recommend checking Yona of the Dawn - a historical fantasy with great plot and well-written characters. I love it sm and will keep recommending it to everyone. Aside from that, I really enjoy Black Butler, Bungou Stray Dogs and Noragami

One suggestion: make a time stamp in the video and description on when the actual collection starts. Starting with questions instead of the collection itself likely cuts down on viewer retention, strange as that may be. A time stamp to when it starts would be a good way to get around that.
And yes, I loved the use of the gimbal. Made it all look very professional.😊
