BLOWN UP? The 421 goes DOWN as THE MUSTANG starts taking shape at JAXWAX!

  • It’s been an incredible week of both highs and lows. The Mustang is looking INCREDIBLE thanks to JaxWax and Zach Copus with Tidy Rides in Columbus! But just before we left home, the Malibu’s engine threw a wrench in my weekend plans.

Usually when a channel blows up their stuff, they make it seem like its no big deal. I love how honest Bill was about this. This to me feels way more honest as to how a person truly reacts to their baby blowing up.

.060 over makes it really thin between the cylinders and sealing that tiny area with an MLS gasket will be challenging when spraying 300.
Id sleeve it if it were mine, keep the bores small.

Bill- It really hit home when you described the feeling of having an engine go unexpectedly..... especially when you just got finished putting it in and dialing it. I had the same thing happen last fall, on a brand new BBC in my gen 2 camaro. just went to the fuel station to top off for a car meet that next morning and the #7 intake head just popped off, clean break, on what was just a normal drive for some fuel- That set me back so far I will spend the next year paying it off, and it also stopped any other things I wanted to do to my car this year in it's tracks. At the end of the day, we tear it out, make it great again, and move on. You will do the same. Good luck, and thank you for putting into words how it feels to lose something that you have worked so hard to make your own. God bless

yo old man! have watched since day one, and for quite awhile through SRC content. Sucks that the Malibu broke, but as we both know, it is what racing is all about, fix, brake, repair, repeat. I suggest that when you go to a full race block, possibly a brodix (tehe) that you seriously upgrade the trans BEFORE you break it, as well all know that WILL be the weak link as soon as the new motor drops in. With all that said, I really think your going to have more fun in the Mustang, yes I am partial to Mustangs, as it was my car of choice when trolling the streets when I raced. If I was to do it again, Id have to go with a mopar vehicle and a taco built hemi from a junkyard to start :D

Oh my dad I just knew could never be or do any wrong in eyes of an only child, I've seen him wrench in cold miserable weather as the coffee froze solid that I brought to him while working and as a kid we didn't understand why our dads did this but now as an adult 47 I know now of all the reasons of the why's and what's, he did it for his all, his family. But the best thing I ever seen my dad do wasn't any of these things, the best I ever saw him do is on Wednesday Eve and Sunday a.m. he would dress up and serve the lord , I never will forget the feeling of walking through the church doors him with his bible and me and momma with him. As bad as it is to have to deal with this, at least it happened before you loaded up and headed down to your destination. In a way it was fortunate that you took that last drive around the block before putting the Malibu in the trailer.
Oh, and I agree with erikk was says you are a rich man. Except, perhaps not in the way he means. Yup Old Man Bill is rich beyond measure!
