Purchased a Khaki King on Whatnot from Second Hand Horology. It really needs AR coating. Other than that great watch. If Hodinkee added AR it would have been amazing.
I really like this design approach and I own both the Khaki Field and Pilot Pioneer Mechanicals. But at some point Hamilton needs to elevate them a little bit. The textured dial on the pilot pioneer is a small touch that would make a big difference on the Khaki Field and I’m a bit surprised they didn’t do it on this version. Given how quickly these sold out, I assume Hamilton will release a non-LE version with a white seconds hand. Surely they know that they’ll sell a lot more than 800.
Always love the classic looks of a Hamilton Field watch. I have a hand wind and an automatic. The hand wind was 350 brand new and the auto on bracelet was just over 400. It will probably sell out but $595 seems high.
Great hands on review on one of my favourite brands. After owning a lot of khaki field Hamiltons I still have only Murph and mechanical 38mm witch are staying in collection. This one reviewed here is for me the best balanced dial-handset combo design and vintage feel. Great watch and a great details on the watch reviewed. Your review of the Vaer watch helped me to decide and go for it, thanks : ) Cheers, Alex.
I like Hodinkee limited edition s Bought the Timex & Hodinkee Skindiver that you recommend great watch 👍 I have the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Brown dial with vintage loom .
I have the 80 hour regular dial Khaki Mechanical, I see here in the comments about the AR, mine does not have that problem it might be one of the best so maybe they changed it? I bought it earlier this year. I like this one but I like mine more. There is one person who I know who would love this watch IDGuy, I guarantee he is picking this up. Its like made for him.
This is a nice LE, though not something that made me purchase it. The 38mm hand wound Khaki Field wears a bit small my my wrist/taste though. I do like some other 38mm watches. I did pick up the Field Notes though. It's really irritating that Hamilton doesn't add some (or more) AR to these watches, as I can't imagine it is all that expensive to add, and it would really elevate their watches to perfect. I've heard complaints on the lume, but my expectations of lume on a non-diver are not as high.
It seems like they have great movements but the rest just isn't quite there. Shorter lug to Lug, ar coating better lume and screw down crown. That's what's kept me from buying them. I'd rather buy a swc bunker or even ark
Would have gotten it if they didn't do the orange second hand. That just makes it look cheap to me. Plus the other khaki fields can be gotten for $350 so not seeing the extra $250 in this one since its the same watch pretty much.
Hamilton knows they’ll sell way more than 800 of these, so I suspect we’ll see a non LE version with a dial seconds hand. Also, $350 is gray market price. If they do release a non-LE version, it’ll eventually hit that price.
It doesn’t look like any Khaki Field as it doesn’t incorporate the trademark 24 hour scale. Also, unlike other Khaki’s the numerals and the indices are lumed. Rather than just the latter. I don’t know why Hamilton doesn’t do that on all its regular Khaki models.
The dial is based on the old Hamilton 75003-3 GS watch that was produced for the British military. The dial design is the only thing they got right because everything else is off: hands, case size, crystal. I’m a big fan of this style of watch, but this version is really a low effort on Hamilton’s part.
I wish they would make a 36 or even 34mm
I love 36mms
Yes, I wish they make this as a reissue of the 6B Mark XI RAF in 36mm or 34mm but in brushed rather than bead blasted.

i have the bronze one … I love it … so simple so comfortable… and that bronze ….
does the watch back not cause any rashes?
@@jk25653 no … it has a titanium case back

This is a gunner !!! I like large size watch, but this one looks great !!!

I love it and managed to get one. For me I can’t wait to put a black NATO or leather strap on it which I think will look incredible 😁
Nice watch, but it doesn't blow my mind. I am more interested in the new Pilot Pioneer with a white dial. Thanks for sharing.
Even my 3-figure Khaki is very special to me! :)
This is an awesome watch!
I like Hodinkee limited edition s Bought the Timex & Hodinkee Skindiver that you recommend great watch 👍 I have the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Brown dial with vintage loom .
I own the Blancpain FF hodinkee and if Blancpain would make a production run out of those it would be in huge demand.

The Chronograph looks just like this one but different.
Like that railroad minute track 😍

These are very eye catching.
the lug gap is as big as the Valles Marineris
Looks a lot like the Vaer field watch.
This is pretty sweet, I just can't stand Limited Editions
I like limited edition if i like it & get one if it's sold out not so much .
I'll stick with regular Hamilton.
I'm over the limited edition stuff, especially a "collaboration".

the only knock i have on Hammys is the AR and lack of auto on these mechanical fields. Their watches are awesome though.
@@BJJandBS Hamilton offers automatic versions of the Khaki too that have better WR as well.
I don’t know why you would want a screw down crown on a manually wound movement. 🤷♂️

Why remove the military time on a military watch?
I think it looks better
Looks cleaner

I prefer my white khaki field
This is sick!
Cool watch!
Love it. Amazing review. Thanks again. Shakaexpress
James Bond wore Rolex in the novels.
I just want a 38mm Murphy
Wooo
I recently sold my khaki field with a chocolate dial.
I have that really like it .

It's now the iconic field watch overpriced courtesy of hoodinke
Already fu**ing sold out!!! 😭🤬😈
The clunky lowbeat movement is a dealbreaker at these prices. Hard pass.
Junk
Always the same awfully long flat lugs....
Whatnot sucks
just another boring watch. Nice business Hodinkee
7:35 That Heuer is SWEET! Now there's a real man's watch, not this stupid looking lazy example.
Sold out
Looks a lot like the Vaer field watch.
