I don’t need one of these, but I’m glad they exist in the market. If I had a buddy who wanted to get his or her first road bike, I would definitely suggest they look at one of these.
I started riding in the 70's when a 400 wasn't considered "entry level" or a "girls bike", I'm not sure why that changed. The truth is these bikes are perfect for the riders of all ages and abilities unless you have specific needs like long distance highway touring etc. Who's driving 100mph oon public roads except hooligans anyway!
the thing is you always want some wiggle room at highway speed; to do quick passes (slow passes are DANGEROUS) and to deal with headwinds and long uphills. TLDR if your bike can't comfortably exceed highway speeds than it isn't highway safe. also 100mph indicated is probably about 93-95 in actuality.
@@eikonisefar more important are good brakes and quick steering. I’ve never once needed to exceed 90mph to avoid a car. If you do, you’re doing something wrong. MSF doesn’t recommend higher speeds as you indicated for a reason. More speed isn’t the solution.
