When I lived in AZ, I was amazed that the house construction crews started at 4am, but you have to beat the heat somehow. Me, being a night owl, often spent time outside after Sunset, but there was still a lot of residual heat from the Sun baking everything. I am amazed by this family, working around that hot metal container during the day in the heat of May!

I get exhausted just watching. 65 years old here in New Zealand. The other day I started at a farm at 7am, teat blocking, then 2 cattle shifts of 20 kms each finishing at 5.30pm. I jump out of the vehicle and shut all the property gates along the roads. I slept 9 1/2 hours that night. Still recovering lol. Feels good though, doesn’t it. Keep up the great work guys. 🇳🇿

As parents you both are doing an awesome job, not only are you working together to make a home for your family, you are teaching 😀 them your children life and good health🪥🧼🧽, they are learning their education as well as survival. Ada did a great job painting the ends of the rafters after they were cut. Yay, putting on the facia at the end of the rafters. Yay, first row of roof decking up. Too bad about the warped rafters. Shipping containers are made from corten steel. Rust doesn't affect them.

The goat barn is looking great. It will be very nice for the goats and all of you when working in the area.
Blocking in between the rafters would have pulled the rafter straight and provided additional strength.
The good thing about doing the goat barn project now is that by the time you get back to the house, the foundational rows will be really settled in 😊 LGB looks fabulous

Automatic gates… max and occy on YT put in a solar one for a massive heavy wood and metal frame one. A small one for a gate might not be too difficult.

Thanks! We're still about halfway through the roof. Will be finishing like our other roofs here with underlayment, metal roofing, gutters to catch water, and 3000w of solar panels rack mounted to the top.

It all looks great! I had that pressed wood crumble on me in Cali when I used it on my shed. My advice, protect it, paint it, it will last longer, mine only lasted like 5 years. the desert weather is so unforgiving. I love the colors you chose!, The more shade the better!
It’s covered with underlayment and soon to be covered in metal roofing. It’ll be fine.

Remember that the "Corten" steel" is designed to be rusty. There is a Corten steel bridge structure near my city that has had all the paint stripped and left to rust as a design feature. The paint job looks great.
bonjour la famille how are you all doing of late ? so i'm in the south of France again and constructing a wooden scaffolding. yikes, i have no time for the internet or myself. measuring, measuring and assembling oh my ! what a joy to see you all again working and smiling. Ladies Adalai and Ada are true champions of the outdoors. the closing shot of the two people atop the container in silhoutte spoke to me. there's always beauty at the end of the day and after having worked hard all day too. 'But' let us not forget, you've got it made in the 'shade !'
You can use a used garage door opener for a gate open. You have to Huckle-buck some stuff. I’ll try to remember to put a link to a YT video.
