Create a pattern using a PNG in Adobe Illustrator tutorial for surface pattern designers

Do you know you can create patterns in illustrator using pngs?
This is great when it comes to using the pattern preview tool in illustrator combines with your procreate or hand painted pngs!
You can use this method with any png, I like to use my procreate motifs or hand painted watercolours that I have edited in Photoshop.

*importing your png into illustrator
*creating a pattern
*changing the base colour
*creating an artboard so you can export the pattern tile.
