I'm so glad people are realizing that you don't need a 300 foot giga to have a fun, and exciting ride in your park. Although the cost for this was pretty insane, I'm sure they can drive that down and allow it to be more viable at other parks.
Especially if you like coasters but are terrified of heights like me. I want fast and cool layout and theming and airtime and inversions but I hate giant hill climbs hahaha
So I've been on this ride at least 5 times within the last 2 years and here's a few things I love about it: 1. That first drop is crazy in the last row. Especially when you're backwards or sideways! It's a quick punch to the gut and then once it's over the rest of the ride is mellow. 2. If you have a larger group of 8 or more people then it is super cool because you get to watch each other rotate around and sometimes be face to face with most of the members in your party while going through inversions! You can literally wave to your friends and family while upside down together! It's unlike anything else out there. 3. When going through the inversions, it really does feel like time is slowing down. Most coasters speed right through those elements but this one slows down and it actually feels like you're floating midair. It really is like magic. 4. This ride will always feel different every time you ride it. Depending on where you sit and all the different angles you can achieve while riding. Just when you think it can't get any crazier, it still does. 5. I love the steampunk theme. I think that SDC will adopt more steampunk attractions in the future and it will only make the park more popular. I love the direction this park is taking with the addition of this ride.
I rode Time Traveller 15 times these past two days (0 minutes waiting time) and now I consider it to be the best roller coaster in Silver Dollar City. A trully master piece!
@@st4rs4addi I don't think so, but I can only speak for myself. Time Traveler is unlike any other spinning coaster that I've ridden. Silk smooth and no jerking around. Pure joy!
@@crazy4wavescoasters741 i did end up going on it when i went to sdc last month! it was soo much fun!! everyones right, it was a super super great ride. probably my favorite ride ever.
I've been anticipating this review as I wanted to hear your take on time traveler. I have to say that I agree 100% on the points you make in this review. I've found myself describing it as more of a rotation than a spin. The fact that they call it a spinning coaster turns away a lot of guests I think. I know the general consensus is that outlaw run is better, but I'm sure you only think that because it is more intense and it is an rmc, though I feel time traveler is a better fit for silver dollar city because it is such a unique coaster with an out of this world experience you won't find anywhere else.
I was able to ride it on the third Public train out of the station on ole big day and was on the last train of the night on it and it is a truly remarkable ride and would love to see more similar rides like it come to the US!!
Let's not forget, folks; This is a terrain coaster. Also, it'll be even more gorgeous when summer comes and the green grows back in. I wonder how this will affect Thunderation.
I mean how it will affect the ride experience. Thunderation uses to be all by itself in the woods. Now it has a neighbor. I wonder how the scenery will change.
Not much change, you only really sense it (when on Thunderation) when you first come out of the station, on the helix, and on the lift hill if you look over your right shoulder. But really it's rather innocuous.
@@sonimatic Thunderation isn't as good. I miss it being out in the middle of the woods. This roller coaster is much better than Thundation, but it ruined the "lost in the middle of the woods" feeling.
in the back row, that blind drop out of the station is amazing, plus its really cool how you are rotating during the drawn out inversions. Its a very unique feeling, and it kind of reminds me of Goliath's zero-g stall for some reason.
Rode this today! Definitely a unique experience as you are not straddling the rails of the toaster and sideways drops leave you feeling that first time experience excitement again. I spent most of my drops and inverts while backwards but loved it as the seating mechanism is so comfortable and smooth. This is a great addition to this wonderful park!
I had alot of fun on this coaster, it really is a different ride in every seat, another fun thing they have, the gift shop sells these steam punk googles that have kelidascopes in the lenses and they let you wear them on the rides, it really adds a whole new feel to the rides.
I rode this last Thu and Fri and i was totally blown away by this. What a fun ride and that drop in the back car is one of my favorite elements of all time. Also i didnt see it break down at all (Outlaw Run broke down 3 times when i was in the area)
I've had a chance to ride this coaster a few times last year and 5 times this year and I have to say, it is my favorite roller coaster right now. Every ride is different and you experiencing some insane moments on this coaster. If you get one of the back two cars, you will go down that 90 degree drop sideways and what a sensation that is.
Finally got to ride this! Every seat and every ride is a new experience on this thing. Rode first in the front car and thought the ride was pretty calm with a slightly more intense feel in the second half. The second time in the rear car and thought the whole ride was way more intense. With the spin on top of that, it makes every element unique to each time you ride it. Such a fun ride! Tip for the type of ride you want, the front makes the first drop feel like it lasts forever and makes it bigger than it is adding to the height fear factor, but the rear whips you over the top with tons of air time and makes the drop more speed intense. Both are a fun way to ride!
I absolutely loved rode it on Thursday of spring break the drop is insane the floater/ejector depends on the train and time of day. I loved the speed and just experiencing that. Taylor the sideways ejector on the turns is crazy. I hope you see this
This ride has a much more friendly than aggressive experience. Most outsiders are intimidated by this ride by the way it looks. On board it feels smooth as butter.
I was able to get a 15min wait, which was awesome cause we had a guest pass so when we went on pass holder appreciation week, we got to time traveler early, such an awesome ride
Time Traveller looks so cool. Im really hoping Mack puts one of these into the Europa-Park, it looks incredible and I think it would fit in quite nicely. I don’t think they’ll get another tall ride, because they got a lot of noise complaints about Silver Star, so another launched coaster would make sense for their next thrill coaster. I’ve heard rumors about Rumania/ Transylvania being the next country, doubling as the Halloween Area and I could definitely see a slightly creepy version of the Xtreme spinner there.
I agree with everything you said.its a great ride.2nd ride, went down the 1st hill and part of the 1st section completely backwards and loved every second of it!
The more I see of this amazing coaster, the more I want to make a trip to Branson, MO (of all places), and get the Silver Dollar City experience. When I first saw the CGI advert for this thing, I said, "Oh HELL no! I felt nauseous upon riding Pandemonium @ SFOT!" But as you said, this is a Mack Free-Spin, and doesn't really spin all that much. (Pandemonium spins WAY too much for me!) And it's all in the service of giving you a different ride experience every time. This is a clear winner in my book. Can't wait!!
I have ridden this... 5 times? Yeah, five times. Anyways, I LOVE THIS RIDE. I am usually very chicken about roller coasters, but when I rode this, I wasn't scared. I had a blast. The first time I rode this and we were in the station, I remember remarking that "If I wasn't about to plummet 10 stories in a 90 degree drop, I would want to stay in this seat." I feel like I can settle into them. The seats aren't very pushy, even in the ride. The cars are amazing too! I love looking at the little time travel thing when in the station, the one that has the month, day, and year, going around as if deciding on when and where to go. Theming? They _nailed_ the steampunk thing. I felt like I was actually in some sort of clock factory as well. Should you ride this ride? _YES._ Should you visit SDC, even if you only rode this ride? YES! I love how you get a different experience every time you ride this. One time I was on Time Traveller, I did what felt like a somersault on one of the loops. It was awesome! Please, ride this ride if and when you can. It will be an unforgettable experience! (If you didn't notice, I love Time Traveler)
Fantastic ride. Super smooth, thrilling, and fun. The spinning completely resets any expectations about speed, inversions, etc. The specs don't reflect the experience in any predictable way. 50mph sideways or backwards is wild. No dizziness, either.
If I ever make it out to Silver Dollar City, I will definitely make sure to ride this ride. This gives off such an H. G. Wells vibe and I love that theming.
Never clicked on a video link so fast LOL. And I agree with you about the theming, just after I saw some pictures of the queue and station, I asked on Reddit about what the "cutest" roller coaster is, because somehow I feel like those clocks and gears and signs make Time Traveler a really cute coaster, in a way.
When I went to SDC they were having technical issues with the ride. My sister and I waited in line for about 40 minutes while they sent empty train after empty train to test the ride, finally we gave up and as we were all the way at the top outside they had sent the first people on the track!!! :( I will say though that the atmosphere is nothing to be missed. During your walk down to the ride you'll hear banjo/acoustic versions of some very popular songs mentioning time. My favorite one I heard as we were leaving was "Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time." It was just one of those unique SDC touches that you won't experience anywhere else!
Unironically one of the roller coasters I'm most envious of the US for having. I really hope some park in western Europe adds a Mack spinner, and SOON.
In 2021, there is a Xtreme Spinning Coaster coming to Plopsaland De Panne, Belgium. (rcdb.com/17725.htm) It is rumoured to have a similar theming like the Time Traveller and the layout with five inversions looks really cool!
Thank you for this awesome review. Just from the sound of it, Time Traveler sounds like a great ride and something that I can handle, since I'm not a huge fan of spinning rides. And the fact that this is the first of its kind, I can fully understand that this would have technical issues on opening day. But I have to agree, if this is a success (which I think it will be), I can already see other parks having coasters like this in the near future.
I loved it and the Second lunch was perfect I like you said it gives you time to think about what you just went through I mean you know 100 foot drop in and the turns and everything and then that second lunch you takeoff and you go straight into a corkscrew I mean that is fantastic
Another fab review! :) Dragon's Fury at Chessington is a really cool spinning coaster. It's a custom Maurer spinner and is kind of intense. But it has some cool airtime with it and for a spinning coaster, it feels very bizarre. There's also a nice Maurer spinning coaster at Alton Towers too. It's not quite as good as the Chessington one, but the helix at the end made me grey out, which is kind of strange and nemesis at the same park didn't. The Maurer spinning coasters over in the US do look kind of bland. I don't know if these 2 coasters are as good as time traveller, but they are definitely more intense for sure.
The first 420 new teen coaster I got Chance to got the ride time traveler at Silver Dollar City this is by far one of the Epic news coasters opening this Year and a Must ride I was absolutely blown away by creation so let talk me about little bit in crazy about what you can expect when you go ride time traveler Silver Dollar City something else there but also you have to remember this Ride really epic Ride rolling launch into that it With the second one instead of abruptly stopping so so I think are those two are just minor complaints why I'm not going you a epic socre but overall just in general This ride is absolutely WOW it is worth a visit out to silver dollar city And My opinion undoubtedly the second Best ride in Park outlaw run sill King that ride full of a intensity this is not an intense coaster don't go in here excepting a really intense ride go to ride time traveler because you're looking for a fun experience This is a perfect definition of a coaster that blends thrill coaster with trains coaster because I believe that every member of the trains should be able to ride this and enjoy it look at them two are faye and Nate
Time Traveler is such a fun ride. I dare say it is my new favorite ride in the park. It just felt so weird to ride and I couldn't help but laugh the whole time!
I have ridden on this twice and let me tell you, this ride is amazing. The drop is the scariest part, in my opinion. Another ride like this is Wildfire. Would recommend both rides to anyone who wants to have a blast.
Bro if you are interested in it there is a liscensed upside down water slide in a town in Missouri called chamois it’s pretty cool it’s called avalanche an you should definitely check it out
This looks so awesome! I really wish Disney World would build one of these. I know it has Guardians now, but I feel like a spinning coaster like this or Ride to Happiness with the Disney Themeing would give them a new attraction that has that high thrill factor that Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster had back when they were new attractions. It would also allow them to compete with Universal in the thrill dept.
Plz do a coaster fight between this and outlaw run, looking forward to what the future of silver dollar city is going to be, and great Vid like always Taylor.
Hey man, I think this the coaster train and layout that will be applied to the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster at Disney World in Florida. The cars are suppose to turn at key points just like this coaster, and it's also a launch coaster. You might find it interesting to follow up on if you liked this coaster, and the Guardians films.
This was my favorite ride at Silver Dollar City as I judge on how much fun a roller coaster is but don’t get me wrong Outlaw Run is fun I just find Time Traveler unique
Definitely, I wanted to know because I personally thought the back was actually really intense. It felt close to Outlaw Run to be honest but to each their own.
The last car is the best one i think. Rode in all 4 cars and 3 and especially 4 are better. Rode it several times in a row with my 12 yr old daughter and each time is a bit different depending on the weight of the 4 people on your car.
Can’t wait to ride this new coaster. I’ll be getting to experience it in late May which is hopefully enough time to iron out all the bugs. Great edition to the park and it’s in a needed space. The only coaster on that side of the park was just thunderation and the grand exploration coaster (kiddie coaster). So I’m glad it balances out where coasters are located.
Kermit The Frog Wow, how did I just see this. The ride exceeded my expectations 10 fold. This was really really fun and every time I got off I was laughing. This coaster isn’t about the thrills it’s more about the experience as everyone I saw coming off was smiling and laughing. This was a perfect addition to the park and a needed one. Definitely worth the investment.
rct3isepic looks like there is a lot of room in the area. Could be adding some stuff next year depending on how well it does. Something cool like from old to new buildings and stuff.
They don’t want people getting sick, Nothing will end a day sooner than nausea and guests will take that feeling home with them in memory, The stop helps the sight & mind connect.
kids and I loved this ride... tottally rode it a bunch this week... and the back car smashed my old man nuts.. pulling hard out of the gate.. front car was the best 4me..
Thanks for the review. It looks very cool. I am hoping the SixFlags will see the success of it, and bring one to Magic Mountian. That would be great. Again thanks.
I should have known you were there on Sunday when it got stuck on the first launch (they even tried to launch it multiples times but they manually removed everyone). Also that first launch was also added as a block section so they can run more trains :) Lastly, to you, did it seem like each car has its own rotation pattern? Second row always goes face down the drop, first row always goes down backwards. Last Lastly, I thought Power Keg was a better ride than Outlaw Fun.....
I’m a little sad about the rating. I would say it deserves a 10. Yes, we don’t know what the launch would be like with a rolling launch but that shouldn’t prohibit its score. And people are bashing the spin speed. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!😂 But good video. Great comments
You make some good points. It is a really good ride and deserves all the praise its getting, but I don't know if I would consider it perfect. It is very good though.
Coaster Studios I agree. It’s not perfect but I got to back my home park. You know how it is!😂 But still, love this channel. Great video. I’m excited to see how the new RMC’s hold up after Twisted Timbers review!😍
When i was there a few weeks ago it has a stop and launch and then the rolling launch and both are good. Of the coasters in the park its the smoothest riding.
Something you didn't mention is that when the roller coaster stops on the second launch, the cars still spin, so when you stop, you wait to see your orientation of how you will take the launch. Once the spin stops, you can get either really excited (or disappointed) over the launch, and you get a second at best to prepare yourself for the launch until "Ready for launch"...
FINALLY got to SDC this year. Very fun ride. But I only love it in the back car for the first drop 😅 The restricted spinning kills it for me. I had several rides always facing forward or going sideways and staying there.. Im fine with not crazy spinning but most of my rides didn't even spin; Powder keg is my favorite coaster at Silver Dollar City honestly :) And I think Tony Hawk/ Pandemonium at St. Louis is a much more fun (though less impressive) spinning coaster
I'm so glad people are realizing that you don't need a 300 foot giga to have a fun, and exciting ride in your park. Although the cost for this was pretty insane, I'm sure they can drive that down and allow it to be more viable at other parks.

I rode this today, it was INCREDIBLE
On of the cool parts is when they say two pepole on 7 and stuff like that it was cool how it’s so organized
Time Traveler is such a fun ride. I dare say it is my new favorite ride in the park. It just felt so weird to ride and I couldn't help but laugh the whole time!
Never thought I'd end my first trip to SDC wishing Time Traveler was my #150 instead of Outlaw Run.
I have ridden on this twice and let me tell you, this ride is amazing. The drop is the scariest part, in my opinion. Another ride like this is Wildfire. Would recommend both rides to anyone who wants to have a blast.
I have no way of going to the us... but I really really want to ride this thing...
Finally making my way to Silver Dollar City next month! Dollywood is my home park so I'm pumped to see how their sister park is!
A wise coaster idiot once called Dollywood the Shitty Silver Dollar City. I have to agree
Is it already open? Wow
Bro if you are interested in it there is a liscensed upside down water slide in a town in Missouri called chamois it’s pretty cool it’s called avalanche an you should definitely check it out
7:44 just like Bluefire at europa Park!
Awesome ride! Got to ride it last weekend.
You posted this on my birth day
Sucks that I live so far from SDC, but maybe I could come there sometime
Plopsaland de panne is going to buils this ride! I’m hyped
I have wanted such a ride for so long.
Looks like an epic family coaster!
I think this is a beautiful ride
Great video, but you left out two things! How exactly does the rotating work and where is the on ride POV video?
ProjectLifeCommand TPR has one now. 🙂
@Bob Schneider, thanks.
Here's the link for it. ruclips.net/video/OzrAtHVk_Tc/видео.html
Plz do a coaster fight between this and outlaw run, looking forward to what the future of silver dollar city is going to be, and great Vid like always Taylor.
time traveler is my favorite roller coaster
Visiting the video having just ridden the sister coaster in Belgium 👌🏻
Omg best coaster I’ve ever been on!
Perfect review
The theming is beautiful. So steam punk!
Rode it four times once in 3rd, twice in front and once in back. It and Wildfire are tied for 2nd best roller coaster at SDC.
So exited for that 95 foot tall loop when I ride it ;)
Did u hear about the one in Belgium that looks nice according to the video
This looks fantastic. Let's hope it's not like lightning run. I hope there are loads more of these!
Bean waiting for this!!!
That coaster gave me the feeling of "which way is up?" Pretty awesome coaster but the B & M @ SDC was my fav.
It is a really cool ride concept. I would love to ride it and see how fun it is lol
What rows/cars did you ride?
Funfunpark front and back cars. Back is the way to go!
Definitely, I wanted to know because I personally thought the back was actually really intense. It felt close to Outlaw Run to be honest but to each their own.
My nickname is front seat...
How'd you like it? I've ridden it also and love it.
I wouldn’t mind tryin to Ride it. Could it Be Rose at night?
My only gripe is no theming during the ride. How cool would it be to be going through an old timey or even western town doing all of this?
rct3isepic looks like there is a lot of room in the area. Could be adding some stuff next year depending on how well it does. Something cool like from old to new buildings and stuff.
Looks awsome...it can definatley be built on when added to another park.
And it was... check out Ride to Happiness at Plapsaland de Panne!
They don’t want people getting sick, Nothing will end a day sooner than nausea and guests will take that feeling home with them in memory, The stop helps the sight & mind connect.
brainurizm 101 that is a good point. This is a family park, so you get family audiences. I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate that brief stop.
Looks really cool
I’m excited to ride this :)
kids and I loved this ride... tottally rode it a bunch this week... and the back car smashed my old man nuts.. pulling hard out of the gate.. front car was the best 4me..
Thanks for the review. It looks very cool. I am hoping the SixFlags will see the success of it, and bring one to Magic Mountian. That would be great. Again thanks.
Time for you to come to plopsaland in Belgium mate...we got something we call 'Ride to happiness' overhere...
Omg yes...it looks so damn amazing....the roll out is neat... but the drop out of the station is super insane on TT.
I rode it three times in a row and it is ammaaaaaazzzzzzzziiiiiiinnnnnngggggg
I should have known you were there on Sunday when it got stuck on the first launch (they even tried to launch it multiples times but they manually removed everyone).
Also that first launch was also added as a block section so they can run more trains :)
Lastly, to you, did it seem like each car has its own rotation pattern?
Of the coasters in the park its the smoothest riding.
im going on it this june of 2019 and im going on it with my mom im so excited XD
how was it
Something you didn't mention is that when the roller coaster stops on the second launch, the cars still spin, so when you stop, you wait to see your orientation of how you will take the launch. Once the spin stops, you can get either really excited (or disappointed) over the launch, and you get a second at best to prepare yourself for the launch until "Ready for launch"...
FINALLY got to SDC this year. Very fun ride. But I only love it in the back car for the first drop 😅
The restricted spinning kills it for me. I had several rides always facing forward or going sideways and staying there.. Im fine with not crazy spinning but most of my rides didn't even spin;
Powder keg is my favorite coaster at Silver Dollar City honestly :)
And I think Tony Hawk/ Pandemonium at St. Louis is a much more fun (though less impressive) spinning coaster
