Ukraine is not just viewed in a fiscally lense but also a moral one. The pennies on the dollar that we spend in ukraine to drive out russia is a no brainer. And the morale point is what we as Americans say what we stand for and how we see ourselves. We are the good guys. And that serves to build our soft power worldwide. Soft Power saves lives, saves money, and opens doors.
This is so naive. There is no saving Ukraine with the current strategy. They cannot win with their own military. They are too small. Additionally, they are constantly on the defensive, never on the offense. There is no threat to Russian territory by Ukraine, so Russia will continue to bombard Ukraine for as long as it takes. It might take ten years. Russia will not stop unless there is a clear deterrent to their aggression. Currently, this is not about "protecting democracy" it's about defense companies getting rich by supplying arms through federal funding, while Ukrainians are systemically eradicated in the name of "freedom".
