Man Butterfly 3000 is such a way to close the album. It gets me every time I listen, like emotionally, but also musically I feel like its a perfect capstone.
Dear Walter! As a giant gizzhead i've watched a lot of reactions to their music and none resonated with me until i found your channel a few months back. Thank you for all the fantastic content, you're a genuine and kind dude with nothing but wisdom to share. Keep up the good work and all the love!
I liked interior people and shanghai but havent really clicked with the rest as much, though i give the album a listen every once in a while cause i disliked other albums in the past but later they became favorites. Edit: oh shit that last song was crazy. The magic is working.
I always give an album a few listens over a couple days before I disregard it and that usually works for me. A lot of different factors can change the way I feel about an album depending on the day.
Butterfly 3000 (the song) is my favourite Gizz closer. It just hits me different for some reason. I love how Stu formulated each sentence. It's just a few lyrics but I feel all his compassion and love for his daughter in them. It's just exactly how I would feel if I were to become a father. I would like to have them experience all the good stuff that life can offer but also give them the stregth to get through tuff times that will surely come. Only gripe I have with the song is the length ... the drop NEEDS to be longer. It's good the way it is but there would be so much more potential :o
I remember when this album dropped, I had just found out about the band about a month ago and had only listened to Flying Microtonal Banana on loop, In my naivety I remember listening to one song on this and going "wtf this is NOT rattlesnake 😡" lol
People ask me what my favorite gizzard song is, and its impossible due to how they make music for the mind, body and soul. Shanghai literally heals you when you listen to it, so its THE soul music
@walterooski i really appreciate it! Now It would be amazing to get a chronological/discography order playlist of all of King Gizz reaction. I love watching and re watching every King Gizz content from you!
FINALLY SOMEONE RECOGNIZES 2.02 KILLER YEAR FOR THE BANGER IT IS HELL YEAH WALT
Clearly you're a person that can identify peak.

@walterooski oh perfect! Time to fully watch the evolution of a non fan to a King Gizz fan!
Bro I'm seeing them this saturday too. Would be nice to meet you
Their best album
Finally here
As a fan of King Gizzard & Psychedelics, this is a top-tier album. It's like Polygondwanaland but more synth heavy. And probably more uplifting.
Definitely more uplifting hahaha. Less tension naturally built into this one, less likely to go dark when you're in the cosmos of your mind.
@walterooski it's one of the few gizz projects that brings tears to my eyes, especially from 2.02 Killer Year on.
"It gets better."
