Will never buy another Yonex racket.
Had a limited edition ezone 98 that ended up developing a crack and then fully snapping at its throat. Sent it back to Yonex for a “quality check” and they came back saying that they couldn’t see any defects with the racket and blamed it on me simply because the racket had a few scratches at the top part of racket head.
Never going back to Yonex again.

The quality and feel of Yonex racquets are outstanding and no other brand can compete with this high standards.
Many other racquets from other brands feels very stiff and harsh on the arm during play, the YONEX racquet are the most comfortable and soft racquets I ever played with (beside my old Dunlop racquets from the 80's). I like the low stiffness in the racquets and the touch / feel U get out of these racquets, really outstanding.

Switched from long time user of Prince to Yonex Ezone 100 2022 6 months ago. Really enjoy the power and vibration dampener effect from the rackets. I’m 69, played tennis since I was a boy, still play strong 4.5 doubles against players sometimes 1/2 my age, and I feel the Yonex Ezone is the best racket I’ve ever used. I do place lead tape at 12, 3, and 9 positions for plow through and improved spin on serve, and used Prince Duratred grip overwrap. Quality of my Yonex rackets is exceptional, all weigh and feel identical. Great job on their part!

Very cool video thank you TW! I used Yonex badminton rackets and Wilson tennis rackets for years. But now I'm thinking about trying Yonex tennis rackets for my next one after your Yonex video series. Are the rackets on 8:28 Vcore Pro?

This is precisely why I am playing with Yonex tennis rackets and strings however can you please bring back the Ezone DR 98 formula, the weight and balance of the older generation was perfect.

I was pretty much a Wilson racquet fan most of my tennis life, but recently I've been slowing switching to Yonex. I have a vcore 97 pro 330, great racquet, just order a vcore 97 HD also hear alot of good reviews on it..

started with a local brand (wood), moved to a metal Dunlop then onto a graphite/carbon Wilson Hammer 6.1
Later, tried some RFA97, but it was too stiff for me. Discovered DR98 and bought 5 at once. Sadly, can't find any new DR to buy

Excellent video. Goes to the Heart of the Yonex philosophy of Pride in manufacturing. BUT their R&D is another matter. We have seen them veer towards making their racquets more rounded and making their racquets stiffer and stiffer ... So even though their manufacturing is second to none, their R&D is far less disciplined and almost bipolar. That's where their Achilles Heel has been for decades and continues to be, at least in Tennis. The Ezone line is a great example. The first three generations (Xi, Ai and DR ... I believe Kyrgios still plays with Xi) were great and and then they fell off a cliff. Same with the RD series from the 90s.

I agree with you I am still playing with my old DR 98's the new Ezone versions simply is just not the same after testing all the new models I still do not want to switch. Making sure you are at the forefront of development and technology is all good but getting to a point where the new model is worse than your previous model means you are missing the point.

The rackets are a lot more rounded. Look at the new Regna 98. The only 'straight' edges are the tip and the throat area (where the mains start and end) the sides are very curved.

Japan is known for putting out high quality products in many different industries. Yonex is no exception. I don't see the sense in paying $200+ for Chinese made Wilsons, Babolat, ect. with inconsistent QC and specs meanwhile I can get a Yonex from Japan and know that I can buy multiple of the same racket online and they will most likely match up well.

Quick question on my Vcore 98 the grip size seems one size bigger than the rest of the industry, is everyone else doing it wrong? Also when are we getting a new Vcore 98, it is way over due.

Some find the Yonex grips to feel slightly on the big side. We haven't heard as to when an update to the VCORE line will be released, unfortunately. Troy, TW
