C7 is a 7.2 liter parent bore engine (not removeable wet liner like a C9 or above). Uses HEUI fuel injectors like a 7.3/6.0 powerstroke so changing the oil every 10-12k is recommended. Not a bad little engine for school buses, RV's and medium duty trucks. Only let the CAT shop touch it would be my opinion. Sharp truck.

Thanks ! I only run class A CDL loads. But you are limited with these trucks because the gvw is only 19k the tow rating is 33k. It’s perfect for CDL hotshot hauling. My trailer is rated 24,900. Thanks for watching !

hi..im not in the hotshot business but will get my cdl soon in order to move one piece of equipment for my company..do you know if i can haul 38,000 lbs ( including the gooseneck trailer)with a 2007 m2 106? i cant find anywhere whats their gcwr is...

Beautiful truck! I'm looking to upgrade to one as well in the near future. Do you have it registered as a tractor?
Yes I run an apportion plate rated at 45k the truck only has a gvwr of 19k but the trailer has a 25k. The hitch is rated at 33k. I had a Ram 3500 and these are far and above better than that. But they cost a lot of $$$$$ too. So you have to balance it all out. Thanks for watching ! Another great channel that runs a Freightliner Sport Chassis is Adventures in trucking. Hey there sir. I just came across your channel as I was looking for videos of folks running Freightliners sport chassis trucks. I realize its been a month since this vid cam out but could you give reasons for using this type of truck as opposed to say the Ram 4500 or 5500's. I am considering this type of truck myself with the cab configuration. I feel like the rear would make a great sleeper unit and also the truck as a hole seems more "OTR friendly" over a Ram (or Ford). I'm guessing the truck weighs more (class for class)? Let me know the pros and cons you have experienced with "Fred" and thank you for sharing. Safe travels!!

It is made for heavy hauling like what I do in the hotshot business.
Back seat makes an amazing sleeper.
My Freightliner gives me 5k more gvwr then my 3500 Ram
Cons
Seems to be drinking more fuel
After nearly two months of using no way would I go back to a Ram.

It’s a nice truck. I think you should have named it Hawkeye, though 🤷🏻♀️. Oh and did you call those lights chicken lights? Never heard that before. Hope the truck serves you well for a really long time. Shame about mytee and your collab. Maybe the new peeps will set something up with you too. But they may not see it as a good business move for them. If that’s the case maybe something else will come along.
Yep Chicken Lights 😂 idk where the name came from. I did think about naming him Hawkeye but when I seen that it had a cat motor I thought of Jerry Reed wearing that Cat cap on Smokey and the Bandit and then before you know it that lead to me loving Fred and then I had to call him Fred 😂 I just couldn’t leave Fred out 😂 now I just need a stuffed Fred to ride along with me 😂 Thanks for watching !

It has a bed so it can't be classified as a tractor and your overall length has the same rules as your pickup truck. Most states that is 65'. Make another attachment point for your breakaway cable. You cannot attach it to the same place as your safety chains. Personally, I would have bought a semi tractor with an real sleeper so you can run sleeper berth and make some real $$$.

The rear area does meet all the DOT requirements for LxWxH in a sleeper berth. Most ppl don’t know this about the M2 chasis though.

I am planning on using same setup. I am from Alabama as well. Any tips you have for me would be greatly appreciated. Will have my license in December.
@@thomaswilliams2208 Until you get established with some good companies you will have to run hard and cheap. 3 weeks out and 2 or 3 days home and only when you get a profitable load coming home. Never take loads just to pay for fuel just to get home. Exception is if you are in a state like Florida and you really really really need to get home fast.
