This race was like Talladega a few years back when Kenseth and Buescher flipped where the rain really started coming down right after the race ended
I got a kick out of martin talking about Harvick being the class of the field when he did that so many times last year. I also feel it was a little unfair he was penalized but then got to have sticker tires for the race. He looked like you do when you play a nascar video game and you start in the back, you pass 10 cars in the first corner. Will be interesting if nascar changes that in the future.
I live about 6 miles from the speedway and it is not in Atlanta it is in Hampton Georgia.
I wish nascar was just announced this way always in the radio conversation on which ever is most interesting lol

There gonna half too eventually. Pavement doesn't stay good forever. Just look at what happened to Jeff Gordon at Daytona. Had the fastest car than a massive chunk of pavement broke lose as he was exiting pit row and went through his front end destroying his radiator and engine.
They basically ruined Texas, added too much and no one will ever go that high into the corner
Can't say I don't disagree there, but It was somewhat of a necessary evil. Repavements are just things that have to happen. Sometimes it works out for the best, sometimes it doesn't.

All the Chevy teams seem to be struggling, Newman was a complete nonfactor despite his front row start, and the highest finishing bowtie was 9th. In fact, Dillon is still the only Chevy driver in the top 10 in points, and that's only because he won Daytona. Oh yeah, and Michael McDowell of all people is currently ahead of all four Hendrick cars in points
They have the new Chevy bodies and are learning right now, doesn’t help Jimmie is in a slump, Byron is a rookie and Elliott and Bowman just haven’t got momentum going. We have done two races, you can’t judge the other 34

Because you start on the tires you qualify on. MT didn't run qualifying as a part of his penalty - so the tires were stickers.

Seahawkfan1995 big e lost the 500 22 times but still owned Daytona.... hold the L buddy. Harvick owns this track but luck took a lot of prize money from him the last 5 years. When the whole field shows up trying to copy your strategy and you still win by damn near 4 seconds you can say you own a track.

We need more races like this imo. People are saying to repave, but why? So we can watch them run single file? You have more lane options at Atlanta and it's a lot more about driver and mechanical grip, than aero grip. Bowyer had a good run, Newman was great until his tire went down. We could actually see a more diverse field if more tracks were like Atlanta.

It was actually the best race I've watched in a while with all the tire wear and strategy. Lots of diversity through the field, lots of passing. It's just that the tv coverage is boring because they only want to show the leader and they don't know how to cover the different strategies.
