A friend of mine and I used to randomly play this song on open mic nights at the local bars who actually had open mic nights... To scattered applause from those who actually knew anything about Ween. Good times...
Goddamn this is amazing on so many levels. Charles Bronson was from Portage, PA (right outside Altoona, my hometown), and Ween is from New Hope, PA (outside Philadelphia). Henry Fonda (the evil dude in this) was best friends with James "Jimmy" Stewart, who was from Indiana, PA (about an hour outside Altoona).
Wow! Drawing all kinds of connecting lines . Putting them on a Map and you were born in the eye of the storm the Pennsylvania triangle. Guess that makes you the guest of honor at the Cinco de mayo dinner . Buenos dias my friend
That chord just after 4:47 is so amazing. It cut right through me, leaving me in total chills. I think you need the previous chord fresh in your head, from the second go around.
So classic Ween. So beautifully strange and professional and unique. Burnish tardes, amigos! Look out for my chieeken... with poison eenterlaced with da meat. Love the twist. The “duality of man... you know, the Freudian thing...” - Joker, Apocalypse Now. Este muy perfecto!

@@YGR12five7 I didn't catch it the first few times I heard the song, but then it just hit me. It totally sounds like the guy singing was the actual murderer maybe!
Considering they were both born a few years AFTER "Once Upon a Time in the West" was released, I highly doubt it. That said, Charles Bronson was from their home state of Pennsylvania--in fact, right outside my hometown of Altoona. They are from New Hope, outside Philadelphia, which is about four or so hours east of Altoona.
I SAW THIS BAND IN BUCKS COUNTY PA WITH MY COUSIN AND WHEN THEY PLAYED BANANNAS AND BLOW I RECOGNISED THE SONG AND WE CAMPED OUT AT THIS CAMP HEINEKEN HAD JUST INTRODUCED THE KEG CAN WE DRANK THEM AND SMOKED GANJA!
He killed his brother out of intense jealousy (considering the lines what his mother says about his brother) He admits this in the end, but also in the beginning he says someone shot his brother 3 times in the back, that’s something you would do if you do not want the victim to see your face. What he means with you look like my brother is that because of his jealousy he can not recognize his brother anymore in the true sense of the word except maybe for his appearance He wanted to be the favorite and could be by killing the murderer of his brother (just a guy he frames off course) it becomes clear the man is a stranger cause he tells him the truth before killing him. Now he can go home being the hero of the village and favorite of his mother. Some other people think he commits suicide and is talking to him self in the end..but he says that the people of the village believed him So I don’t see that work with confronting en killing himself
I have a theory that his Amigo was already dead when he found him. If you found the man who killed your brother laying dead wouldn't you consider it a joyous day? And he doesn't actually say that he's the one that killed the guy. Let me know if you think I'm talking out of my butt 😂
The protagonist killed his own brother. He pinned the murder on the man he was hunting down. The protagonist was jealous of his brother as the lyrics clearly indicate.
