This is my favorite song of theirs. Gene is so good at singing. I would get drunk with one of my friends and he would play the guitar and I would try to hit those highs.
Gene is underrated as a singer. Dean is underrated as a guitarist. In fact, everyone in Ween is underrated; they can play any style or genre of music: pop, rock, blues, jazz, tejano, psychedelica, soul, funk, disco, electronica...anything. It upsets me that Ween gets no respect. And sadly, this song is not on Spotify for some weird reason.
One of my old boyfriends had a cat we named Sasha for this song and would sing “my girl Sasha, looking good on the street” to her nonstop in the highest voices we could muster 🩵😹
By interesting you mean Ween right? Ween is my youthful soul. My expression and freakishness. Sleeping in strange beds drunk on white rum. When Ween was on my self was intact.
@@seanbrennan5192 The 60s-80s were AMAZING times for music and I feel like the artists in the 90s took all those decades and mashed them up in a way that we will never see again. So I guess for me the 90s represented the best from the years prior PLUS massive innovation and creativity.

I only ever heard this song because Daft Punk played it on their Essential Mix in '97 and always just figured it was from the 70's! Shoulda probably realised it was newer because of the Boyz II Men line, however the tune was playing right as side 1 on my C-90 finished, so maybe it was missing from my copy? AND they turned off the deck and let it slow down to a stop right as the "mannequin was..." verse was repeating so I didn't catch it then either!!! I'm super surprised to find out it's from the 90's!
Chad Ginsburg of the band CKY in the crowd at 2:16 (next to the dude with the red sign, who was his bandmate in Rudy + Blitz at the time) and again on the fence in the upper right corner at 2:41. It's wild that Spike Jonze directed this and their worlds collided again just a few years later.
This song is like audio clickbait... think about how many people heard this song and went out and bought the album, only to listen to it and wonder just what the hell they actually bought lol
@Dyslexic Batnam The desire of those who voted to repeal Roe versus Wade to save many lives of unborn babies does not reflect their lack of desire to save a lot of people from becoming homeless. I don't see the SCOTUS making rulings anytime soon to help save a lot of people from becoming homeless. Homelessness can lead to premature death. It can also lead to drug use, mental problems, legal problems, etc. If one is going to look to save lives, why not try to save everyone then? Do you think that when you were a kid, your parents were okay with you only cleaning half of your bedroom, only finishing half of your homework, only cutting half of the lawn, only doing half of your chores, etc.?
