- Filmed on 13/09/2022. Time for our journey back home but this time, we are stopping on what is a brand-new station. Which is one of the smallest stations managed and operated by Avanti West Coast. This is Macclesfield (Season 9 Episode 32)
Situated along the West Coast Mainline, this station still proves to be as popular and busier than ever. Despite the narrow platforms, the station situates itself to be next to a waterfall which there is quite a few wildlife animals there.
This is the gateway for Greater Manchester and for London and the South. A Cross Country Service which was running one of few trains a day between Plymouth and Manchester Piccadilly is running heavily delayed due to a track defect.

Macclesfield station is surprising to say the least with quite narrow platforms. In terms of variety, there is plenty of passenger traffic stopping here.

Great video Ricky. Why is CrossCountry was running 40 minutes late from Plymouth to Piccadilly
This was due to a track defect near Birmingham which caused this delay.
