A beautiful, interesting and entertaining video. Your prductions keep getting better and better. This is so well produced that the BBC would be proud of it.
Absolutely stunning footage. To Netflix - make sure you get hold of these guys in the future - people will pay good money to see the adventures of Sailing Yacht Florence
I had to watch this twice. The second time on my large screen HD tv. The film making is just gorgeous. You have really outdone yourselves with this little epic. Thank you,
You have taken your cinematography to a new level of excellence with this video ! The night sky filled with stars was simply stunning. I have backpacked and camped in very remote areas in the US but none approached the clarity and sheer impossibly large number of stars visible in Fish River Canyon. Love the rustic camps and "loo with a view" !
Hi guys. I have been watching for a while and your filming is getting so good. Absolutely stunning scenery and gorgeous night shots. Wish your episodes were weekly. But worth waiting for. Next weeks episode looks just as good!
Looks so familiar to me . Did that trip 40 years ago and hitch-hiked about 16 times through South West Africa /Namibia. Its an amazing environment which looks after itself. Another major fascination is the meteorite nearby which struck in 1902 . It is an iron one about 12 ft in diameter . The hottest temperature I ever hitch-hiked in was also nearby on the national road north to Mariental . It was a boiling 51 Celsius . On that day I drank 14 litres of water and sweated out every drop with none to have a leak. I had to sit because I felt so faint. Only stood up to wave a car down every now and again. Thanks to water and my spare sugar and salt to add otherwise I would have passed out.
It reminded me of my trip to Namibia 4 years ago. What a fantastic country. Amazing views and wildlife. The people were so friendly and eager to help you with routes and identifying different tracks and animals. Becareful going night walking though. In some places that puts you firmly on the menu! The usual excellent cinematic and drone shots and well constructed story. Thank you.
What an incredible hike! I love the details of the camp sites- nothing over blown, just stunning views & cool layouts with vistas as the focus! Buuuut, after a long day of hiking & avoiding getting sucked into quicksand- what a glorious retreat! Incredible footage, loved the end of day lighting- very cool that you got the drone up in time to catch it!
Just WOW! Thank you SO MUCH for this adventure. You two are the BEST. What wildlife do you have to be concerned about? OR , on the flip side, what wildlife can you expect to encounter? What a stark and glorious landscape. Quiet. Yes! I had one camp night recently that had NO human noise... except for an occasional jet. Birds, insects, breeze and NO light pollution. I need to do that again. SOON! I look forward to each of your videos. Thank you again.
I am living in South Africa and have been to Namibia many times. You captured the dessert feeling in an absolutely stunning way. Your videomaking skills are outstanding. Great video. Thanks
I am very happy that you got the chance to experience the country of my birth. Beautiful video, and as has become the standard in recent videos, excellent, excellent choice of music! Also quite liked the bit when Namibia conspired to keep Amy there...
I always have wanted to be out at night free from light pollution so that I can stare at the light of the stars that may have taken hundreds of million if not a billion of two years to get here for me to see. I admire you and people like you who have had the thrill of seeing the night sky, and taken a pictures of light from stars that may not even exist anymore. Well done Florence! Best, Webhead USA
Your cinematography and video editing has exploded in the last six months. It’s spectacular. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and your experiences as you travel the world. Z.
Hello from Alberta Canada. Excellent choice for a land excursion have done the Grand Canyon the Fish River Canyon is certainly equal in most respects. However the true isolation and night sky at Fish River definitely superior,. Thanks for taking the time to document it for us must have been a challenge to remember to pick up a camera with so much to take in.
In my mind i always thought that the skys over southern africa both on land and at sea were the best that i ever saw thank you for confirming this i first saw this in 1964 in my mind it seems like yesterday thank you
11:43 (edit 11:23) That sky! Oh my gosh. I've seen pictures like that in magazines and on physicist Brian Cox's shows. Always thought they were enhanced in some way or in another galaxy! But to see them here with your camera...just Beautiful!
I have watched all of your videos, some I have watched multiple times; but this is one of your best. Your pictures of that beautiful night sky are just stunning. I envy your grand adventure but I am so glad that you share it with all of us. Be safe and thank you for this wonderful look and a world most of us would never see.
Spectacular 👍👍👏👏👏. Great documentary of the hike, and what a great job the trekking company are making of if. Wonderful experience, thank you for sharing 🤗🤗🤗
Stunning scenery beautifully captured on video. I hope your journey north along the Namibian coast allows you to visit Walvis Bay and meet the amazing Dreyers, Naude and Katja and family and their colleagues Antoine, Denzil and Wally and Kat and all the other Ocean Conservation Namibia team members. If you haven't seen their videos of the rescue and release of seals at Pelican Point and Cape Cross from entanglements with ocean borne plastic detritus then please do. You are in for a treat.
Interesting to see how the hike trail has changed over the years, I hiked and canoed it back in 1985, the only shower facilities were having a bath in the river.
Your videos are getting just wow! Very very impressed. The music story… guy’s seriously. Well done! Talent is showing itself and I think many will agree. Keep up the great work.
Namibia is one of those places I wish I had visited but never got around to it. Those campsites looked incredible and the scenery was awesome, I can't wait for the next episode !!!
Harsh but beautiful country and the vision you guys provide is just stunning. Impressed with the facilities to cater for hikers - well thought out. Thoroughly enjoyed.
That was mind blowing. What a unique experience and sooooo well documented. Really a great edit. Thanks so much for sharing. I know how much work it is.
Stunning video as always .. hope the Namibia tourist board are sponsoring you ! … loved the hands off trek .. if it had been NZ there would have been signs everywhere, dont do this, dont leave litter etc, with safety first ropes all over the place .. !
Hi guys great video of one of my favourite places .....always thought one had to do the whole canyon as a hike 8 days ....the 2 days looks more my style .....enjoy... Mike from Zimbabwe
I've been watching since the Cape of Storms episode, and I love the content y'all put out. No other documentary / vlog series (Including professional tv documentaries) has been able to so perfectly show the wonder and awe in Sailing, History, and the World. In a world where far too much of history (Especially for kids) is about memorizing dates and specific events, your content provides the kind of nostalgic 'Tales of old from faraway lands' that works as a sort of gateway drug to history. Your content somehow manages to encapsulate the feeling of a story-telling session with a well-traveled grandparent or old salt sailor. Keep up the good work. You're storytelling ability is so far unparalleled! Fair winds and Following Seas, -J
I live on a small plot of land in NZ, I also have and open air lavvy where I can watch the world go by. Mine is nowhere near that lavish or spectacular, but I do, on occasion, fly my drone from there and it has a wonderful valley view. It was once an old country school restroom, school long gone but the toilet still remains 90yrs on. Nothing like open air comfort and a view to kill. Lovely video as always.
Even if I must admit that my dream is very far from trudging through a canyon in Namibia under a blazing sun, I must admit that this video is superbly shot, that the landscapes are impressive and majestic, and that the quality of the shooting, the editing and musical accompaniments achieve here a rare quality. Thank you for this documentary which perfectly conveys the heat, the drought and the apparent absence of life in this canyon.
Your videos are so very interesting and your technique and the way you frame your stories just blow my mind. You have become very professional cinematographers worthy of a paying audience rather than simply amateur videographers on RUclips ( not that there is anything wrong with that). You deserve the broadest possible audience. Thank you for your efforts and skills.
Indiana Jones eat your heart out :-)! Great video! I miss those stary skies - Really impressed with your shots! Proper epic hike, looked like an oven! Type 2 fun :-)!
Just incredible guys, your adventures keep inspiring, amazing that you've all but circumnavigated with just you two in a 37 footer, not to mention that your vids have gone from good to great. Bloody good job and thanks so much for putting it out there for others. Legends.
WOW! National Geographic could not have done any better. Ya'lls cinematography is so professional. Great job! Dee and Deb, Chesapeake Bay Virginia, USA
What a spectacular place to be!! I love your photography it just captures the desert so well!!! I really does speak to you with a lot of drama and emotions! You guys have gotten very, very good at this! Those places reminded me of my time last fall in Monument Valley, the absence of sound was very emotional for me and the light from the stars at night was awesome to feel!! I am enjoying your trip as much as you are! Thanks, keep up the good work!!
I follow your journey for years now, in my eyes you two are the best filmers of all sailing channels
Absolutely stunning footage of a land most of us will never see. Thanks so much for posting and fair winds ahead. from Devon,UK

You both have an eye for presenting fabulous views!
That must be the best photographs of the night sky ever seen. Fantastic. Well done. Love the content.
your videos are always good but this was one of the best - and it wasn't even about sailing! :-)

Skies, plural for sky.
