    I know this is about the G3C vs Stoeger. It’s just gonna be the Taurus for me. That aftermarket support is everything. I have the G2C in 9mm and .40. Regarding the finish- it’s a tool, more specifically a self-defense tool. I love the restrike feature for dry firing. I also love that I can use the same holsters for them. Affordable and reliable- I’ve only ever had issues when it came to specific ammo with the 9mm. I found that out during that break in period at the range. But that’s the point of live fire training.
    FTR, I am a S&W fan girl. I do believe if you save & have the chance to find an older M&P on sale, that’s the better option. It’s not ammo picky. I normally carry the G2C because if I ever had to use it in a self defense situation, it can be replaced in a few paychecks.

    My gf is looking at a Stoeger Str9c for her first carry gun, mostly because of price (even though I told her I'll buy her whatever she wants). They seem well built, but a cheap finish. I told her I will not spend my money on a Taurus though. After working at a shop and having to send a ton of them back, I'd never let someone I love trust their life to one.

    I accept this as your apology to sig 😅solid video. I have a G2C been great, understand questioning Taurus after their most recent recall. Stoeger is solid think they have a better trigger than glock too out of the box. Looked at one last week, made me scratch my head for the price.

    Im an advocate for the stoeger str 9c. Love it. Shoot it more accurately than my glock. Most people are unfamiliar with the brand name. But they are great guns for the money. There are not a lot of holster options unfortunately which is the downside.
    They should follow canik and provide a quality holster from the factory. Also the back strap is extremely aggressive. Use that blue rubber stoeger band if they give it to you but other than that, give them a few years and for the market to catch up.
    The STR 9C us a great first gun That wontbhurt your pocketbook and is super reliable. Not one single malfunction 1000 rounds in.

      Facts that Trigger Polish up so good for G3 Series guns when you dry fire. You really get the best out the gun when you know the trigger

    • @deucedeuce1572
      @deucedeuce1572 Год назад

      @@spnfirearms The restrike does not pull the striker back as far as it does when you get the normal "single action" trigger pull. It's not quite an 1/8" less... but it's definitely enough to weaken the amount of force that the striker uses to strike the primer. It's so much less that I've wondered if the restrike would even work on a G2C/G3C handgun. If the original full power strike didn't fire the gun, then the 2nd weaker strike is probably even less likely to work. Usually if a round don't go off on the first strike, then it will not go off on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th strike. It definitely can happen though. Have seen it in revolvers and double actions though... but it's just less common from what I've seen.

    • @WarriorSoul357
      @WarriorSoul357 Год назад +1

      A lot of people really do enjoy the restrike trigger for practice in dry firing. I had a Walther p99 which also had the restrike trigger.
      I'm not going to say that it's a *bad* practice. But. It's definitely a different pull than if your striker is cocked. It's longer, and it's heavier. If you are trying to practice working on the trigger break... it can give you bad habits. Which, could lead to down and left POI. Not for all shooters, of course, but those still learning trigger discipline, it could be something they'd have to work through later on.
      All that said, do I think it's a cool feature? Yeah, kinda. I mean, I was kinda glad that my p99 had it. Just in case.

    For new conceal carriers. First and foremost, WELCOME to the society of concealed carry!
    What Spin was saying, about being conscious about printing.
    Literally EVERYBODY worries about other people being able to see their gun, when they first start carrying. When I started carrying mine with me, while I was out and about, I felt like everybody was staring at it. (Granted, concealed carry permits weren't publicly available 30 years ago in my state, either!)
    And I went through that, all over again, when CCW legalized, and I started wearing at the hip.
    If you want to minimalize your footprint... obviously the gun you choose is going to cause the printing. The clothes that you wear can either exacerbate, or negate some of those signs from the gun. The holster you choose, and the belt you choose, is very important for minimalizing your gun's footprint. Or in Spin's case, he carries in the pocket, so his holsters are designed to help flatten out the shape of the holster, helping to hide the pistol.
    Once you've gotten used to carrying, you'll start to worry about it less. It comes with time. Unless you live in an area that is not gun friendly, most from that area won't make any kind of deal about, even if they aren't too busy staring at their phone to actually notice you, and notice that you have one. (That's... NOT a joke. Sad fact, too many people are glued to that phone too much of the time.)
    I will advise tho... keep your situational awareness at 10 when standing in lines. The highest percentage of gun grabs happen in gas stations, convenience stores, and checkout lines. Alter your stance, to keep your arm between somebody else, and your gun. Practice it in the mirror so you can tell what makes you look obvious, and what doesn't. And practice with somebody watching you.

    🤔When I was first getting into firearms. The stoeger normal 9mm was it for me… I stupidly (at the time) went with a pawnshop XDS9 as part of a trade for my AR instead for my first pistol… My OCD bugged me about getting a used pistol when I could’ve got a brand new pistol with the money… I just wasn’t thinking. I have a bad indecision “fxck it get that one!🤷🏻‍♂️” attitude that I’ve been getting better with… However, that XDS9 with the grip safety helped me become comfortable carrying with 1 in the chamber…
    If Stoeger has a full size option thats 17+1 capacity I could think about getting one… Nah probably still won’t.. I’m VERY picky about the firearm brands I get nowadays…😬

    No kidding on that taurus. Looks like it's been holstered quite a bit. I'm surprised you haven't run into any malfunctions with these budget options but how it holds up on the inside is more important than how it looks on the outside.
    With these budget options showing more signs of long term and wide spread reliability, it may force other brands to get more competetive with their pricing and drive prices down. Shame there isn't more aftermarket support for them.

    The re-strike feature is more of a feature that can be appreciated in a gun fight, not at the range. In a gun fight you most likely will not have calm cool collected mind that you have at the range. You will most likely be screaming either internally or externally, pissing in pants, and squeezing the hell out of that trigger. With a glock you are dead in the water till you tap and rack.
    So. Glock = bang bang bang click click click ... tap and rack bang.
    Taurus = bang bang bang click bangg bang bang ( tap and rack if that round does not go off second strike)

    One thing I forgot to mention is the grip angle. The Stoeger grip angle is much sharper and is a lot like grip angles of other guns that I've heard people complain about. It has the near identical back strap as the Glock 19 and also the identical front grip angle (with finger grooves, which is another big complaint that people have with Glocks). I don't mind the grip angle of Glocks at all... but I do think the G3C fits in my hand better and also points more naturally. I don't have to consciously draw the gun and point it downwards to get a sight picture like with the Glocks. I've never tried a Stoeger myself though... but it really does have a near identical shaped grip as the Glock 19. I also have trouble with Glock 19 grips being too wide... and if I'm not mistaken, the STR-9 has an even thicker grip than most Glocks.

Know send it to stog and wait 3 months to get it back. So i decided against the purchase. Now if i can find one for 200 yeah. I own a glock 17 a mnp 40 compact. A rugar p95. A g3c and a g23. And a Taurus 605. Those g2cs and g3cs pistols fired fine right out the box. No break in at all. I fired steel brass and aluminum cased ammo. Good guns for the price. I do have my complaints the finish is crap and on my g3c sometimes when i chamber it with certain hollow points it jams the round between the grip amd the slide. So with cheaper handguns it will have ups and downs. But id rather have a jam than a broken trigger.

      It’s not a bandwagon. That’s the problem with people today. They don’t accept facts. They don’t accept statistics. They don’t do research. I love my Taurus’s. But also go look at how my gx4 came to me. Look what condition it was. You shouldn’t be hurt from a video my man.

      @@spnfirearms I’m not hurt young man I said I was disappointed. There is a difference. Facts? I do accept facts so don’t go all Tom McDonald on me. I am well aware Taurus had quality issues in the past but how long we going to beat that drum. Didn’t Sig have some issues a while back? I enjoy your channel and it’s good to see a young blood so damn knowledgeable and passionate about firearms. I’ve actually followed your recommendations before. I said what I said out of respect. Don’t get that twisted.

    G3c I believe got less recoil than my 43x and is a 12+1 3 mags trading 43x for 26 soon so I can get bigger mags and less recoil and should conceal better with shorter grip nice vid
