I think a few people misunderstood what we were saying about the comments we are only talking about the back catalogue for example if you comment today on a previous video we won’t be going back to them so there won’t be able to reply to comment on older videos. Have a great weekend everyone 👌👍
Great video and only commenting on the current video is more than fair, at the end of the day you got work and a private life to concentrate on, RUclips is a hobby so it has to be fitted around real life. Keep up the good work#.
Absolutely right, we all know the score and you can't be expected to go back for an unlimited time to all historic videos. In my humble opinion I would much rather you spend time on the content, if you have time to reply to comments then that's a nice to have. There are only so many hours in the day. Keep up the great work guys 👍👍
Love how this channel has evolved, for Chris to go from a quiet person to actually being so confident now in front of camera and the new channel he's bringing is just awesome, keep up the brilliant content guy's and the fact you've been honest from the start about how busy and hardworking you both are no-one can blame you for not replying to every comment
Gents, you provide entertainment for subscribers so no need to apologise for not liking comments. To be honest, I have commented positively on several of your videos and when you get a like it does make us non-famous people feel a bit special (it does to me anyway). Keep up the great work!
Gents - what a significant change I have seen of chris over the past 3 years or so! So confident in front of the camera since we saw him hiding in back ground just after your Ferrari fix! I will stop commenting on the videos to save you guys some time but know that you helped me get through the Covid lockdown in Canada over the two first years of the channel ! Take care and I will be watching ! 🇨🇦👍
I've been a subscriber for some time now, and watched all uploads, and only ever commented a few times. But felt the need to comment again. Its great to see the channel going from strength to strength, Chris going from not going on camera to quite happily doing so. Two genuine guys, going about there normal jobs, filming it for the likes of me to get 20-25 minutes of viewing pleasure 3 times every week. Filming it can be a pain, what with setting up tripods etc when you just want to get the job done, then all the editing. We'll done chaps. Your commitment and passion is a credit to you both. Anyway, enough waffle!! Cheers lads!
People have to remember that primarily you are a business and you've ventured into youtube, and a fantastic job you do of it too. Keep the videos coming and respond to comments if and when you can. You're in control. Top start on a good money maker in the polo. Cheers guys.
It's a shame she lost her car but I hope the camera suffered as well. There has to be some satisfaction in writing off a speed camera 😀😀 Even better if it was unable to record her speed
Chris & Rob, Get your Partners to LIKE or LOVE the Comments. You do the Written comments only. -) Rob has your Partner driven the Lambo YET ?? Love the Videos, KEEP em COMING.
I have to take my hat off to you. Such genuine honest guys. Always making time to explain things to your subscribers ,never leaving anyone in the dark. Keep up the great work.
Fully understand about the comments lads, you have a a home life too and there is only so many hours in a day. Keep up the good work lads. 2 best mates making the best salvage vids and 1 heck of working partnership. Teamwork make the dream work. Top lads.
Guys, thank you for your honesty. At the end of the day a huge percentage of subscribers want to see you guys putting out great content 3 days a week, I’m sure a lot of us will fully understand your reasoning behind your decision, keep up the with great content.
Fully understandable about comments to older videos, each video has hundreds of comments, how many subscribers actually read all of the comments so we expect you both to keep going back and back, this video is brilliant, hats off to Rob he doesn’t get the credit he deserves, we all go on about how good Chris is (which we know he is) but Robs knowledge is also unbelievable, my god do you know your way around cars mate, plus your contacts to spares and and negotiation skill is on another level, Chris’s instagram is well worth a subscribe very interesting and seeing the other side of Chris away from his day job 👏👏👏
it goes to show that you guys have a good reputation for paying a fair price for cars and its shows as the cars are now finding you!, thanks for all the time you guys put in to putting out 3 videos a week that's more than most of the channels with over 1million subs and a full production team , always worth watching👍
I think most people would agree that you’re not expected to reply to everyone, you’re doing plenty getting through the actual work 👍. Keep up the good work chaps, much appreciated.
I just brought and repaired an 11plate one of these for my daughter to learn to drive in. Brought with light front damage, as with yours no rad damage, mine didn't even do the bags! I hope you have better luck than I did engine wise tho, I put a battery on it spun it over and instantly heard there was no compression. Good luck with yours. I've finally done mine but would've been cheaper if I'd just brought a clean running car!!!!! Love the channel
Another great project starts. This car has had a heavy whack but your inspection shows how strong modern cars are. The damage is nowhere as bad as it looked when it was first unloaded. Definitely worth saving. Looking forward to the next video in this one......
I don’t comment much on RUclips but i just wanted to say that working on your own Rob you made that job look a complete Doddle which just proves to me how Fantastic you are at this Job. Well done mate. Terrific Work. 👍
Don’t worry about not responding to comments lads, you both do enough and give us great videos, just keep doing what you do and we will all show our appreciation as always
Guys we all understand the time issue with comments. You keep doing what you do, the work is fantastic and the attention to detail you put in is just brilliant. Keep up the great work.
The polo has saved many local motorists from receiving a ticket in the post , it sure hit it with a wallop, great video as always guys , enjoy the weekend and spend a bit of time with your families 👍👍
Very good video and nice new project. Your comments, on the comments, is very appropriate and understandable. How could anyone expect just the two of you to do all the work you do, which is what we love to see, and also spend all that time reading and replying to comments on "all" your videos? It's impossible. Anyway, do what you do best and thank you as always for the great content and the exceptional work.
Big cheer went up when you said it collided with a speed camera. Damage on this one looks less than what was first thought. Used to have same model myself in same colour. Put it up for sale and the phone never stopped ringing off the hook .
Rob and Chris. So much to enjoy of late you really are spoiling us. The yard is as full as I have ever seen it. Loved the recent boat vid and the finishing of the ST Fiesta was excellent. Thanks as always you guys are the best by miles on youtube.
For the size of the channel you guys really take time to interact with us more than so many others it's appreciated. I was also thinking on your last video when it ran late I would say so many of us build SRUK into our Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Thanks Fellas! 👍👍👍
I have no idea how you guys have time for anything working like you do. totally understand why you have to not reply to comments. keep it up and this will be a bad winter cos of the heat we have got used to so stock up on logs for the burner
Well, I think Chris has cracked it, every time there is a job come in he will catch up with the admin until old Rob has stripped it!! Love it.😚. Its going to be a cracking car when its finished. I know how she feels about speed camera's😗. Have a great weekend guys.
Very well presented Rob & Chris, I for one understand that if you tried to comment on all the comments then your work/ our enjoyment will suffer. Keep up the great work you two do.
Hello both, what a great video, this is a nice looking car to rebuild,to snap a brake disc it must have had a hard thump.so far it seems to come apart quite straightforward.the results will be worth waiting for.
you guys do so well it's nice to see people succeed.... I'm after a huge favour do you think with your connections could help a guy out in Inverness north of Scotland... your channel has given me insperation to buy a cat n car for my daughter's first car... it's a 2016 ibiza fr... I'm struggling to sourse a secondhand frot bumper and drivers wing complete it's in black 3 door... I was in a bad motorcycle accident last year now getting on my feet slowly so your channel motivated me to try this and give me something to do while I get my life back together.... if I don't hear back it's cool and keep up the hard work rob and Chris all the best Ali..
That’s a great testimony for how well made Polos and modern cars in general are. Dread to think what the outcome may have been in something older. Keep up the good work - it should be a quick fix.
Hello Rob and Chris, thank you for uploading another video. Looking forward to seeing the end result. No need to apologise re the comments, especially now that you have so many subscribers. Ged
First impact was a kerb in front of the speed camera which took the full force of the impact slowing the car enough for the speed camera to stop it but without sustaining major damage to the frame. Being on the drivers side means it was on the opposite side of the road 😲 Top channel, great content as always lads and keep 'em coming
It's been a very looked after car, very clean. I'm glad there isn't too much structural damage. The idea of breakaway parts is a good one. I think this little polo will repair very nicely.
The chassis in that car must be really decent to take an impact like that and look so straight. Best of luck with the rebuild 👍 I'll be eagerly keeping watch for the next update 😉
Guys I'm surprised you even bother to comment on some of these replies, it's far too time consuming but I think it's one of Rob's old school traits about feeling obliged to reply to comments made directly to him and not wanting to appear rude. I certainly wouldn't take it that way but what I love about these vids is watching both of you going through the damage like a pair of cancer surgeons. Decisions being made on the fly and bosh, job gets done.
Amazing how little damage there is when you see that snapped disc and the subframe😱 I was thinking oh dear but it is a testament to a very well designed car
No need to feel guilty about responding to comments chaps. Another great video. Looks like a great little car. I'd have no qualms buying one of your projects 😀
Will be a nice polo once fixed very localised damage parts should be fairly easy to get & Rob & Chris don't worry about not being able to reply as you say you are extremely busy for it being just the 2 of you working on the vehicle's looking forward to part 2 on the polo already 😀 👍👍👍
Well done lads on the detailed video once again. I hope the young lady who had the mishap with the vehicle was ok. We have all had accidents. Great in depth video Rob. I'm sure we all understand the implications with responding to the messages. Thank you both Rob and Chris for the continued entertaining videos. Don't ever change. 👍👍👍👍👍
Totally understandable guys about replying to every comment. This looks a very nice project that will give lots of good content. I’m sure this wi be a cracking car when it’s complete. Have a great weekend guys
Thanks for another great video, That is going to make a nice car real quick. Now if what you says true, there isn't a shortage of photographic evidence to say what happened before the cops turned up at that accident !. Thanks for the reference to "Rocker panels" as we call them here in Canada. The JCB is one of the most versatile machines out there. I've been using my backhoe loader this week as a 90 hp hydraulic tire bead breaker while replacing damaged front wheel rims on a big combine harvester. Take care guys.
Always a great video, first looks at the polo it looked bad , It don't look to bad when you take the bent bits off , happy days Now you got to chase down the spares good luck guys , Always a pleasure 👍👍
That radar is the one that fits behind the badge on the upper grille, it just clips in, the older radars adjust by turning screws to align it with a calibration board, the newer ones are calibrated through the software, you may get away without calibrating it but once any wheel alignment is done it is strongly recommended to do a calibration on it 🙂
Yes I agree many of the safety systems will need radar to be calibrated for them to work correctly I had that with my mk7 golf after an accident and had loads of messages it was only when I called the dealer they explained and I booked it in it was fine ever since
@@SXI1972 yes the body shop didn’t do it but I booked it in with Volkswagen because of the error messages and they told me about the calibration being necessary and thankfully the insurance company paid for it to be done
We all think alloy wheels are brittle, this shows how much strength that design has. Always amazes me how every part is designed to bend, break and distort ultimately to save the humans. Great engineering
I think people love these videos because it just goes to show that with a little elbow grease an knowhow, you too can have a rather smashing little whip for cheap. You just may not have the absolutely fantastic hair that Rob does or the sweet silent charm like Chris has. But you'll have a nice ride to show for it. :) (I haven't even watched this one yet an I'm already praising it). ha ha ha
Hi from Durham guys 👋 👍 Rob you where on fire just spannering away but great jot tearing it down 👌 hope you can get what you guys need quickish time and can't wait to see it come together 👌 thanks for your time be safe and see you soon 👍 👋
Beautiful little car lads. The looks really bad is has to a hard impact its pushed that front wheel back. But there’s nothing that you guys can’t do. Good little runaround once you source parts for it and getting it driving on its four wheels. Good content Rob and Chris. Have a Cracking weekend.
I always figured you guys generally only responded to the latest videos. The fact you guys still put effort into answering as many comments as you can is a massive achievement 👍
As you guys are working impressive ..but most impressive thing is your freindship..its rare to have guys that close on working envoirment.cheers mates.
In your hands that is going to be a great car. Great the way you talk through the damage step by step. Really enjoyed that film and amazed at how hard you both work
Thanks for the video Rob and Chris, I hope the driver of the VW was ok and not badly hurt. It’s good to see you flexing the spanner’s Rob, I completely understand about the comments and do not expect answers to every post I put on here. Good luck Tom
Great video again. Unbelievable that such a hit has created such little damage. As always will be a great car when done. Goes to show how big the channel has become. Fully understandable that with so many videos on the back catalogue now, that replies won’t be possible on these. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Chris and rob, the amount of time you put into the build never mind the time it takes to make a post, plus as Chris says keeping up to date with the accounts, I’m sure I’ll bump into Chris one day because museums are a passion of mine as well, when I was working I used to bore everyone they went to the pub I went to the local museums, great post guys and looking forward to the build seeing as the car is only a few years old
Another great video. I'll be following this one with interest. Nice to see the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear on display on Chris' desk. They're not the most common set to collect, well done.
Hi guys, glad the lady was OK but obviously shame about the car and can't believe she was trying to be ripped off by the company saying they would take it for free shocking, looks like a fairly easy repair well for you guys anyway, love the John deer clock behind you👌look forward to the next one, have a good weekend 👌👍
Great looking projected, and is going to make a lovely car, your right with the comments, you have to draw a line with reading the old video's and comments, I'm sure that everyone will understand, keep up the great work.
Nice video and an interesting shunt on that one. It always amazes me to see broken brake discs like that let alone driveshaft and hub cracked. Must be a huge amount of energy. You could hit one all day with a hammer and not crack it! The biggest question of all though - THE NEW CLOCK! when is that bad boy going up on the wall?!
I hope people take this on board, You boys that can ,work hard to repair these vehicles and make these entertaining and informative videos. Thank you both.👍🇬🇧👏LondonPaul.
Thanks for another great piece. The Polo should be back on the road without too much trouble and will no doubt attract a buyer quite easily. Sad for the young lady involved and hope she was unhurt except her pride. An expensive mistake. Have a great weekend.
Just thought I’d comment regarding the recovery guy getting pulled over. It would have been DVSA, vosa no longer exist. Anyone reading this who is going to pick a car up themselves, be careful. Any recovery vehicle that doesn’t have a tachograph, cannot weigh over 3.5t, that’s a combination of the recovery vehicle, and the vehicle being recovered . If DVSA pull you and you weigh more, you could have your vehicles confiscated and be fined. Bare in mind a small flat bed pickup will weigh at least 2 ton, only a relatively small saloon car can be transported on the back.
Brilliant video Rob and Chris, will be a great motor for someone once it's done , great work again lad's have a great weekend lad's ,thanks for all your great work on RUclips Rob and Chris
As usual lads great content. Happy to see the fact that you publish these videos is also helping you out in a way by bringing these cars to you by your own publicity. But this is all as a result of your effort, personalities and great interaction. Thanks for all your efforts guys, genuinely great content 👍
I think a few people misunderstood what we were saying about the comments we are only talking about the back catalogue for example if you comment today on a previous video we won’t be going back to them so there won’t be able to reply to comment on older videos. Have a great weekend everyone 👌👍
Have a great weekend lads - Cheers :)
Great video and only commenting on the current video is more than fair, at the end of the day you got work and a private life to concentrate on, RUclips is a hobby so it has to be fitted around real life.
Keep up the good work#.
I got it. Very clear.
Victims of your own success! Have a lovely weekend guys 😊
The quiet man so confident now on camera. The pictures from the boot fair that Chris got were nice.
Have a good weekend fellas
Love how this channel has evolved, for Chris to go from a quiet person to actually being so confident now in front of camera and the new channel he's bringing is just awesome, keep up the brilliant content guy's and the fact you've been honest from the start about how busy and hardworking you both are no-one can blame you for not replying to every comment
Gents, you provide entertainment for subscribers so no need to apologise for not liking comments. To be honest, I have commented positively on several of your videos and when you get a like it does make us non-famous people feel a bit special (it does to me anyway). Keep up the great work!
We’re not famous bud 👍
Gents - what a significant change I have seen of chris over the past 3 years or so! So confident in front of the camera since we saw him hiding in back ground just after your Ferrari fix! Top Marks to the young lady for taking out a speed camera, we ought to club together and buy her some flowers.
I agree
I’m in
It's a shame she lost her car but I hope the camera suffered as well.
There has to be some satisfaction in writing off a speed camera 😀😀
Even better if it was unable to record her speed
Doesn’t look like she was in a 30 mph zone with that damage, maybe 50
And driving lessons.
Chris & Rob,

Fair play taking a chance which helped someone out too. Every success well deserved.

I totally understand what you’re saying about back catalogue comments 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and hope other people do too! Keep up the good work 🛠⚒️🔧🪛🗜⛏🔩⚙️🔨
Big cheer went up when you said it collided with a speed camera.
Damage on this one looks less than what was first thought.
Used to have same model myself in same colour.
Put it up for sale and the phone never stopped ringing off the hook .
That was quite the hit. But hitting a speed camera, that is doing Gods work that is.
2 of the loveliest guys on RUclips
would happily buy a car form these two if they were in my area.
Rob and Chris. So much to enjoy of late you really are spoiling us. The yard is as full as I have ever seen it. Loved the recent boat vid and the finishing of the ST Fiesta was excellent. Thanks as always you guys are the best by miles on youtube.

Great explanation Rob & Chris about comments ! It would be nice if you both could do a live stream say one a month too answer questions

Glad to see Chris embracing his stardom lol ,I remember at the beginning of your channel how he liked to remain out of shot.
We (the genuine followers) fully understand your situation.
Just keep doing what you are doing!

Super little project lads x

Hello Rob and Chris, thank you for uploading another video. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
No need to apologise re the comments, especially now that you have so many subscribers.

The front of that "rocker panel" just needs a new flipper welded in. 🤣🤣
First impact was a kerb in front of the speed camera which took the full force of the impact slowing the car enough for the speed camera to stop it but without sustaining major damage to the frame.
Being on the drivers side means it was on the opposite side of the road 😲
Top channel, great content as always lads and keep 'em coming
The camera was in the middle of the road
Well done for hitting a speed camera 👍
I like those little Polos, love the way they’ve added that swage line up the sides, looks smart 👌
It's been a very looked after car, very clean. I'm glad there isn't too much structural damage. The idea of breakaway parts is a good one. I think this little polo will repair very nicely.
Hi chaps, great video as always, just strange what catches the eye when you are talking but I wonder if those leffe beers are still on the shelf.
Wow! That front wheel really did take a massive impact, I've no doubt this is going to make a very nice buy when completed.
The chassis in that car must be really decent to take an impact like that and look so straight. Best of luck with the rebuild 👍 I'll be eagerly keeping watch for the next update 😉
Nice to see Chris getting a day off and Rob doing some spanner work. That Polo certainly got a good thump in a specific area. Nice work guy's.
Great video, props to the subscriber who tipped the nod to you
Guys I'm surprised you even bother to comment on some of these replies, it's far too time consuming but I think it's one of Rob's old school traits about feeling obliged to reply to comments made directly to him and not wanting to appear rude. Nice to see Chris' office doubles up as a Comline warehouse !! 🤣
Not keen on the hairy assed spider that ran out from the wheel @10:30 😂
I spotted that too
Will be a nice polo once fixed very localised damage parts should be fairly easy to get & Rob & Chris don't worry about not being able to reply as you say you are extremely busy for it being just the 2 of you working on the vehicle's looking forward to part 2 on the polo already 😀 👍👍👍
No replies required Rob and Chris, just enjoying the content and education you post. Thanks!
It’s only on old videos so like if you comment on this video Monday you wouldn’t get a reply 👍
You guys work so hard to bring us this great channel thank you both for the fantastic content 👏👏

10 min 30 seconds in check size of that spider run out from under wheel 😵 you got a Welsh resident nw 🤣
Brilliant video guys . Nice to see Rob getting his hands dirty , & Chris having a bit of a chill . Keep em coming .
Always a great video, first looks at the polo it looked bad ,
It don't look to bad when you take the bent bits off , happy days
Now you got to chase down the spares good luck guys ,
Always a pleasure 👍👍
That radar is the one that fits behind the badge on the upper grille, it just clips in, the older radars adjust by turning screws to align it with a calibration board, the newer ones are calibrated through the software, you may get away without calibrating it but once any wheel alignment is done it is strongly recommended to do a calibration on it 🙂
Yes I agree many of the safety systems will need radar to be calibrated for them to work correctly I had that with my mk7 golf after an accident and had loads of messages it was only when I called the dealer they explained and I booked it in it was fine ever since
Was that after you got it back from being repaired, the body shop should have sorted that out through your insurance
:) (I haven't even watched this one yet an I'm already praising it). ha ha ha
A scrap yard offered to take it for free, they’re having a laugh, Good content lads.
Instant like on your uploads..always good honest quality work..great team guys..inspirational 👍🇬🇧
Cracking vid as always but the main question on this one, where did that spider go to at 10:29 😂
I always figured you guys generally only responded to the latest videos.
Keep up the great work 👍🏻
I’m glad you understood it bud getting so many comments thinking we’re stopping wen it’s only the back catalogue 👍
Chris and rob, the amount of time you put into the build never mind the time it takes to make a post, plus as Chris says keeping up to date with the accounts, I’m sure I’ll bump into Chris one day because museums are a passion of mine as well, when I was working I used to bore everyone they went to the pub I went to the local museums, great post guys and looking forward to the build seeing as the car is only a few years old
Totally understand that guys. I never comment on the line on old videos. I known that you are busy people. All the best.
I quite understand aout the comments, amazed how much time you spent replying as it was! The best channel guys.
Another great video. I'll be following this one with interest. Nice to see the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear on display on Chris' desk. They're not the most common set to collect, well done.
Fully understandable about replying back you have created a monster channel, well done to you both 👍
We are only talking about old videos the back catalogue 👍
It’s all good guys, sure everyone understands your position regarding answering comments. Keep up the good work, nice to see Rob getting stuck in. 😉
“Dear Father Christmas can I have a map of the UK as I have no idea where any where is, love Rob” 🤣
Hi rob and Chris great video , can't wait for the next one from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
Nice video and an interesting shunt on that one. It always amazes me to see broken brake discs like that let alone driveshaft and hub cracked. Must be a huge amount of energy. You could hit one all day with a hammer and not crack it!
The biggest question of all though - THE NEW CLOCK! when is that bad boy going up on the wall?!
you two do work hard. i'm surprised you have enough time to even do videos. well done both. and all the best for the future. 🙂
No washbottle was harmed in the making of this video!
Bit of an extreme way of avoiding a ticket ! Great video , as always.
Superb video guys. This VW has really taken a good one.I am sure it will be back on the road soon.Best channel on salvage cars.
