Hi rob here’s an idea for a episode.
Film the process of putting a finished vehicle on instagram and how you choose who to sell it too.
Ask the person who is buying the car if they wouldn’t mind being filmed picking it up and show us all what goes off.
It would be great to see the finished vehicle getting a new home.
If they don’t want to be filmed try the next vehicle you sell I am sure someone wouldn’t mind being filmed as they are likely subscriber’s.
Hope you do this as it would show us a side we haven’t see yet.

Oil pump failure, very common on these. And Chris is right, its a wet belt that degrades, and indeed blocks the pick up!

Brilliant video a day in the life of SRUK once again. We had a family of foxes behind our shed last year, not sure how many. I went out there and the dog fox was just coming out, we had a bit of a stareing match and then he just walked off as he didn't see me as a danger. Anyway a quick fix on the red car with Chris on the hammers and out the door. That was genuinely funny with the other one springing into life for a while. That little man with hammer is back, can you give him a job as he likes hammering? I will be looking forward to seeing the engine swap. As you say probably a days work. Thanks again Rob and Chris for the video. 👍👍
That red one is a gem. I did driving instructing in one of those and even when trashed by learners it never let me down. With such little milage and general maintenance it could last another 20 years

Great video, loved seeing the quick turn around of the red Fiesta, with the bodywork Jedi, Chris removing the dent, I'd happily drive it as is. I've never heard ecoboom before. That did make me chuckle. It does run lovely, if you like the sound of nuts and bolts being shaken in a biscuit tin! 😄

I am from the USA and in Nov. 2017 I drove a 5 door Fiesta w/stick as a rental for a week, putting 1,100 miles on it in England and Wales. An excellent choice for UK driving. Just the right size, especially on the narrow track back roads. Sadly the 'Ecoboom' there is like the Focus and Fiesta in the USA with the DCT 'automatics' (I had a 2014 4 dr. 'Saloon' from 2016-21 I got rid of due to the bad and unfixable trans).
How difficult will it be to get a good used engine? May be better to get a rebuilt 'short block".
The red Fiesta was a great deal, will be an excellent car for its future owner.
Any chance you will strip the old engine to see what’s what and what’s actually failed ? Top job guys again 👍

On the eco boost, the oil pump is driven by a wet belt, they fray and the debris’s blocks the oil pump. I’ve had them damage turbos and vacuum pumps along with the engine.
Engines are well priced at Ford but would defo check the oil driven ancillaries.
Oh and I bet your air con compressor bolts snap! 😉

The ecoBoom engine is fine for 3 years @ 6000 miles on a PCP. That's all that Ford needs them to do. If you own one after that age and mileage then have a good credit card limit.

Foxes get a bad rap! I live close to Norwich city centre and often see or hear (scared the bloomun life out of me the first time I heard a fox bark!) them in the early hours. We don't have rats and food waste on the streets around here....., and some of them almost seem to be tame.

Hi Rob and Chris,what a result,sold one and one in progress, Chris made a brilliant job on the wing on the red one you really can't tell its been fixed.the ecoboost one does some a bit tough but a new engine will sort it out.
Hi Rob. I had a 15 plate ford fiesta with the same millage. The same problem happened to me in November last year. All the fiesta needs is a new oil pump a oil filter and a new wet belt. It will still run if all of the parts are fixed.

just love this channel guys, its great to see the work being done even to an engine change, great stuff keep it up.
I'll go for the piston skirt broken. I did one recently. It's due to injector over fueling. You can get a set of pistons for £60, easy to fit. Also there's I no need to take off the front end to get the engine out, it's so small you can get it out by just disconnecting the gearbox. You don't even have to take off the driveshafts, just unbolt the shaft bearing on the engine block. Hope this finds you well, keep up the good videos. 👍 If you take off the sump you mite find some piston and you can see right up under the bottom of the piston. I was lucky with mine because the bore was in perfect condition. If you do pull the engine out of the top you have to take off the wipers and the plastic gutter. Sorry also disconnect the air con pump from the block no need to take out the gas.
Hi Rob great video and shows your sort of standard working day. Have had a 2013 fiesta st from new and part ex for a focus st . Both these have the eco boost engine. Never had a problem with the st fiesta for 8 years . Hope the same for the focus. I do have the cars serviced religiously and I hope that I will not be a victim of the eco boom engine.

Entertaining !. That Fiesta three cylinder will make a good video when you change the engine. I think there must be at least a dozen of those cars having an engine swap every week somewhere. Might be nice to see the dud engine pulled apart, see what happened to it. Keep them coming Rob, always a delight to see you both working on this stuff.

Awesome Video Guys. You got two little 1.0 EcoBoost they are great little cars one of them is a runner that needs pulling together which Chris can do. one is a non runner that probably needs an engine.
These 1.0 EcoBoost Engines use cambelt that driven with oil.

Nice easy job on them and they are on a timing belt just take note if you take the bottom pulley off u will have to get a tool to like it back up with the timing. Also u can just drop engine out the bottom without having to take bumpers off

It is easy to see if you have chain or belt. When there is a plastic cover in the front of the engine, and i mean the side with the pulleys, it is a belt driven. When it is aluminum cover from under the tappet cover to bottom of sump it is chain driven.
I'm worried now lads! My missus bought a 2018 Eco Boost ST Line with 28000 on the clock seven weeks ago. Now I am waiting for it to go bang at any time lol luckily she has taken out insurance to get her money back full price for 4 years as long as it is dealer serviced in that time. Not sure how much that cost but it's good to know. Get rid before the four years run out lol

Wouldn't own a ecoboost even if they gave it me free, tons of issues i think the major one is coolant leaks that can happen so quick you've got no time before engine goes boom! i was so close to buying a ecoboost from Evans Halshaw who told me how reliable etc they are until i watched one of your videos a while back on a ecoboost and then googled it and found out they're a nightmare even if you service them your still delaying the inevitable so went for 1.5tdi focus and honestly best car i have ever owned especially with 8 speed automatic.

I had the same problem on my wife’s ecoboost, started rattling like made! Got the oil pump changed, it was all clogged up! Now runs as new

You were right In the first place. The black car is a zetec s. It’s a zetec with a body kit and the 125ps 1.0 in it. Your black edition car is a ST line black edition. ST line simply replaced zetec s in around 2016

I had the same car as the black fiesta. Well known for having faults with the turbo. Gets incredibly hot and does the head. Luckily mine was under warranty but needed a whole new engine. Think that’s where the nickname ‘ecoboom’ came from
