Always a great video as you say rob it's only nuts and bolts , the second hand spares market must be doing a killing ,
You have to do what you have to do it's now mobile and frees up the ramp for another one,
Happy days
Keep up the good work guys 👍👍
Nothing wrong with back to back videos guys, for me personally it keeps the continuity going and I don’t have to go back and watch the other vid to catch up, but then again I’m an old timer and the memory is just not as good, now where was I and why am I standing at the top of the stairs, 😇
Speaking for myself, I don't mind how many videos a project runs to. I really like to see all the 'finishing touches', and some before and after shots. Good work as always guys. 👍
Glad I’m not the only one to use their knuckles when using a Costa Coffee touchscreen. 😂
A previous RUclips of yours brought to mind that, a pocket laser pointer would be just the job for helping you identify the parts and damage that you are talking about.
Great stuff guys.
The dynamic duo strike again! Great vid again gents. Love the content you’re both putting out. Looking forward to this and the Audi being finished.
This is my favourite Yoooo Tubee channel by far, I've been here since the start.
Love how Chris got that broken bolt out! What a smart guy. You're gonna fly through this one!
Rob, Why not try and finish the Range Rover to free up space in the workshop? After all it has been sat there now for a long, long time.
I have got out hundreds of snap bolts and seen loads of fake video on RUclips about snap bolt removal, I never once thought to do or seen that cheers for the top tip Chris 👍
Great to see Chris picking up the camera more & more, what a knowledgeable bloke. Great video guys
It's been quite a journey seeing Chris come out of his shell. Dude is so knowledgeable, he's probably forgotten more than I know!
Nice job on the Polio! Is Chris still doing paper work😗. Thanks Rob for showing us how the Costa coffee machine works, very impressed...Take care guys and thank you, see you Wednesday.👍
I was glad to see an update of this car so soon. You've both pulled a blinder getting the parts and getting it rolling again. Even though the bonnet is bent, it's like a totally different car. Top work. 👍
You definitely cracked on with that one Rob, great to see the wee Polo coming back together.
Always amazes me the vision you guys have . Turning a wreck into a viable machine and doing it proper Respect lads 👍
Good evening Rob and Chris. Some excellent work in this video. Car coming on well. Lots of nice comments as well. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
It's all just nuts and bolts - remembering where they all go is the tricky bit 😀
Looking lovely rob you and Chris are always professionals at what you do love watching mate
Going to be a lovely little car this. I love when snapped bolts come out like that Chris it makes my Willy fizz. 😂😂.
Wow what speedy work Rob did on finding the Polo parts 🙂👍👍. It is amazing how quickly you striped the car & then got it sat back down on all 4 wheels. Congratulations to the both on such great work, here's to seeing the next episode of Salvage Rebuilds.
Don't worry about similar back to back videos, it's still interesting to see how different impacts cause different issues.
Yet another interesting video.
Thank you both.
I actually rather like the videos back to back so you get a clear idea of how long the job takes. When you hop from one project to another the viewer loses track of progress. Just my 2p worth. Keep doing what you do 👍🏻
Great as always. Love getting home after a long day at work and watching sheer automotive brilliance 😊😙
Well done Chris, great result with the broken bolt!! I have a great 70,s story of a broken bolt on the water pump impeller on a triumph Stag, I thought i am in trouble now, but ignorance easily sorted the situation!! Anything is easy if you know how!!
Getting that bolt out must have been soooooo satisfying!
Lovely video. Happy to see it. Great work on the car, Rob. And Chris is now making additional video material - very interesting change of director there!
I don't know how you keep everything straight, particularly the sequence of tasks when you put the cars back together. beyond my pay scale.
Whether you do the same car or a different one is fine. We love them all.
Let's geddit done no waffling lol 😆 just saw Chris get that bolt out bloody marvelous mate
Always great to see you both. Hard working two (2) feet on the ground guys. The productions are the best. Thank you for all you do to teach and entertain us.
Proper days graft there Rob, nice to see it back on its wheels, love the broken bolt drill out tip, goes to show we all keep learning cheers Chris 👍
Chris needs to remind us of the difference between 'new-second hand' and 'second hand- new' I think we know what you mean. This is the only way to start the week
Hi everyone and welcome back to the channel
Very interesting watching the removal of that snapped bolt. Great video chaps :)
It’s great when you can get parts within driving distance or even next day post, it makes life a little less complicated , great video Rob and great bit of luck with that bolt Chris 👍🏻🏴
Hello Rob and Chris, nice progress on the VW Polo so far, suspension and wheel has made a difference already.
Patients & Skill that's what you two have in droves! Another great vid Rob/ Chris!👍👌
Love the back to back videos
Sometimes we forget the project's if it's to long
Chris that bolt was lucky nice 1 get parts is good recycling rod indeed good job
I love the way Chris is just so chilled and laid back and takes it all in and you rob are good at getting the parts your both so good I watch a few things on u tube but you two are so genuine love all your content
i would be surprised if no plastic was sucked into the engine before it was shut off.be worth checking with a camera down the plug holes.
Hi Rob and Chris, this one is coming together very nicely, great result on the broken subframe bolt. Alex.
Always found left hand drill bits are really good for broken bolt removal. The heat generated also helps. Excellent content as always! 👍
You mean easy outs
@@sruk No, not easy outs. You need a conventional drill to drill a hole first for an easy-out. I've then had an easi-out snap with a real stubborn stud.
I mean left handed drills, a drill that cuts in an anti-clockwise direction. It will still cut a hole for say an easi-out, but chances are you'll never need one, as the heat and loosening direction of the drill will bring the bolt or stud out.
Chris had a right result with that snapped bolt there, nothing better then when you think your gonna have to drill and tap a large bolt out and it starts coming out freely!
Back to back works for me mate, fresh in your mind, so no problem here 😀😀
Great success on the essential repair parts, not suggesting the others are not vital, just that you needed the first ones to get it mobile and out of the way. You are lucky that the damage was almost entirely of the bold on, bolt off variety, making it an almost instantly mobile, example (except for some hard diligent work). Varying your output like this is great in my mind, if there is too long between part one and part two, other memories can cut across the sequence.
Was interesting to see Chris drill out the bolt on the car in this one, as well as everything else he does of course!
I've been driving a 09' golf for years, done all the work it's needed, servicing and age related part replacement.
So the ARB bushings and suspension parts have been done by me as well, I've snapped a few of the T-T-Y Bolts and drilled them out using a 240v impact drill, the small one's that builder's use for breaking up small concrete area's or knocking brick walls down with.
Then id retap the holes and use heli coils, which works great for me, good to see an alternative though, I try and always use brand new bolt's now as well, otherwise they are prone to just snapping off, I think the more those stretch bolts are used the more brittle they become.
Another Cracking video on the VW POLO. You and Chris have this stripped out all the parts such as suspension leg engine bed and the front slam panel. You’ve fit all the new parts on the car. You’ve cracked on with one lads like you always do no messing around. The car is finished to a degree that you can park outside. All you need is a bonnet and various other parts. The car is getting there. That front wheel looks bang on centre where it should be. No chassis damage which is good. It’s going to save you a lot of time. You won’t have to take the Jig out. Fabulous work guys.
Enjoying the content as always guy's 👌👌👌 see ya Wednesday
Yes really enjoyed tht one. Coming along nicely. Well done getting all those replacement parts so quickly and the car off the lift.
Personally I don't mind back to back video's on one car but I get some won't like it. Chris you had a stroke of luck with that bolt, very well done. I don't know why they make plastic inlet manifolds it seems to be a false economy to me but that is how a lot of things are now. Very good progress on this one Gents she will soon be a runner. Thanks for another interesting video Rob and Chris. I fully understand it when you say you get satisfaction in putting them together. 👍👍
Tip... As a scale modeler red bleeds thru, what we do is base it with Black or silver.
Superb video gents. Can't wait to see this vehicle finished.Chris always as methodical. And Rob as articulate. Both of you form an excellent team.
Lads yous are inspirational, too any car rebuilder out there, no stone unturned, or part replaced that needs it, the only words I can say is the A-Team. Even the resale of the cars yous don't go to town on, lads keep up the good workmanship, and wish yous the very best, love the videos, can't wait for the next one❤️👍
Biggest steal in 2022. Rob and Chris you nicked it. Know the gal lad was to scrap it. Just a lovely little deal. The standing in value on this vehicle so sweet
You’d be surprised the amount of cars that get sold for scrap price, just to not involve the insurance
Rob, you’re probably the best hunter/gatherer in the business! (My old Mum used to say: “Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves”) and you’re the proof of that mate! 👍
I don't mind what order the videos come in Rob, every one you upload is great viewing, yeah we all love to see the finished article, but they come eventually. I always watch to the very end as well. Keep up the tremendous work Rob and Chris, this channel is growing every day, and rightly so. Spot on.
So VAG want £480 + VAT for a plastic inlet manifold...now that really is taking the p%$$! Top work again on this one lads, especially getting that sheared subframe bolt out, and another great video.👍
I love how you will time lapse certain mundane bits but when it comes to something that you know we'll find interesting you show us. Nice one guys 👍
Always a delight to have a solo from Chris! Well done with that bolt. Stroke of luck!
That bolt.......is it like the new secondhand battery?😀
Coming together nicely. Shows how small the damage area was. Good to get it off the ramp and rolling.
Chris/Rob
Another quality video. Totally understand your point on replying to older comments. You’re busy enough with current projects.
Looks like the polo will come together nicely.
It’s great to see(and hear) you both on screen at same time
Was on the blower to silver lake last week, 36 and then 12 pound delivery to Scotland for a Suzuki swift passanger drive shaft, only had 1 in stock , went on eBay and found the 1 they were trying to sell me over the phone for £18 with free delivery, so I have it here in my possession now, so people on here just need to watch with that ,
Buyer beware. As they say.
Great job guys. It's amazing what you can do with experience and know how. To most people this car is just a right-off. It's all a mindset I suppose. This sort of mindset is very reassuring and inspiring in these days and times. I wish I could say I also shared it, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right 😃 Great content guys, thanks.
You Gentlemen Kill me with these compact cars and 3cyl engines. As an American I say where is the rest of the engine? I truly wish they were sold here. The same car here would have a 2 liter engine or larger. What a lucky hit that took can’t wait to see the finished product. Thanks for sharing
You’re right Jack, and most of these smaller cars can do 60 mpg so getting very popular now!
Well done Rob and Chris love all your video guys
Just imagine if you done a few back to back on the Range Rover , it would give you so much more room in the workshop 👍🤣🤣🤣. Another great upload guys 👍
That looked a mess when you first received it, but after a bit of dismantling, (like you said) its really not too bad.....another chance taken and another lucky break! This one will look fantastic when completed and such low miles too. Very satisfying work turning this one around - keep up the great work!
The polo is making progress!!
Well done guys for getting the polo back on its wheels!!
Let's see how far the next video takes us !!
As always fantastic video, keep up the good work !!
Chris had a right touch with the snapped bolt, looking like another bargain guys, if you fell into manure you'd come up smelling of roses, nice one chaps, looking forward to the next one 👌
Good to see you doing almost everything this time, Rob. You both make it look so straightforward but knowledge, experience, the right tools and a good workshop are essential to this sort of work. Keep it up and look forward to the next bit of the story. Cheers.
Really coming together will be a very nice polo once it's finished excellent as always 👍👍👍👍
The Polo is coming along now, I can’t wait to see it finished, it is a lovely little car ❤️.
Nice little Chris-tip with the snapped bolt, i'll remember that one. The best method I've found for broken bolts is chiseling a flat edge on the bolt then using a punch/drift, bit of a shock gets it turning then you're home free. Just make sure to get a new second hand/second hand new bolt 😂
Another great video enjoyed watching.
I am not sure you would of know this but since you guys buy on eBay a lot it might worth to get a nectar card and stick on there. It all adds up to something decent and you can spend it back on. Just a tip just in case you or anyone else in community didn’t know.
Surprised you guys haven't got a set of "Easy outs" to remove sheared bolts and studs. Always found that they work a treat at shifting broken bolts and studs.
We have
I used to use them on snapped exhaust manifold studs on truck engines. Worked a treat.
Rob don't forget to get the Polo back on it's wheels. Lololol
You don't mess around Rob and Chris! Nice one...again. Best channel going.
Can’t wait for part 3 Rob nice to see it back on its rubber mate I’m in NZ at the moment and still can’t miss a video Crack on!!!!
Nice to see the Polo back in action, pleased it’s going well
Love it. Please go straight to episode 3.
Loved the engineering bit (pun intended) with Chris drilling out the bolt centre. Thanks both.
I know it seems like half of the country are strike, has Chris gone on strike too ? 😂He's been working you hard today Rob !! It's looking good already. 👍👍
We need a 5minute garage update
Camper vans and the old ranges
Along with all the kittle bits Chris buys at the boot fairs
👍🏻
Love the explanation Chris gives and shows us how to do something properly great video thanks guys!!
What a great bit of shopping
Thanks for the Polo project, you make it look so easy, great turn around, starting to come together ❤
Thanks for clarifying 👍 the six month rule.
Watch so.many channels around the world 🌎 some out of sequence, & others old. Will look out for date first posted 📫 😉
Thanks Rob 👍👌
Love to see the classic range rover getting done
Thanks!
Thanks Ronnie, much appreciated
Hi guys,as a viewer I like that you have done a second video straight away but I know you say you don't like doing it that way but I don't know why not personally, nice to see it on its wheels and once a new bonnet and wing on it will look even better, cheers guys👌👍
hello Rob and Chris, amazed on how quickly you have got this car on it's wheels, and the large amount of spares that was found in one place! so looking forward to the next video. Oh, I so enjoyied the drive through the tunnel!! Best wishes from Lincolnshire!!
You're a good buyer, Rob. Good video.
The VW style triple square bits are good for hammering into holes in bolt to wind them out.
We need some "brand new second hand" SR tee shirt merch
Great progress on the polo. It is satisfying seeing it on its wheels again
Appreciate you guys spending time producing this content - mucho appreciated,🙃
looks so easy but we know knowledge is everything well done
I'm glad that the damage to the car and the engine is not as bad and can be easily sorted out
I quite like back to back videos . Top work fella
That will be a mint little car again soon enough. Great job by Chris getting that broken bolt out like he did.
Hi rob and Chris another great video lads, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
Superb video once again lads on this one chillie re-build , i would reccomend though placing a vacuum cleaner with a hose in the inlet section where the valves are , i know it looks clean but you can never tell
