I've flown for thousands of hours on many hundreds of flights (sometimes even a dozen flights per week) so much so one international hostie asked me if I was aircrew and I'm still a nervous flyer. (I've even had two inflight emergencies, 3 or 4 missed approaches and a engine failure on one 737 I was flying on) Two things that have helped me. 1) The stats, you could fly for every day of your life for the next 27500 years before you have an incident (crash) and even then you have at least a 50% chance of walking away unscathed (this is my flying mantra). 2) If you hit turbulence or rough weather, just lift your feet up off the floor (and arms off your armrest if you need to). This reduces the turbulence immensely and helps calm the nerves. And a 3rd tip. Keep your seatbelt on. It'll keep you safe
Thanks, for these tips, so helpful. Most of these tips can be used for other situations as well. Will definitely use these tips asap. I did not know about any of the resources available. Ha ha hope to see you see in first class.
Kim, this video is packed with valuable tips! Thank you for sharing these helpful tips! I appreciate that many of them can be applied to other situations. Hopefully, I'll see you in first class one day.
the person i’m flying with is very dismissive and shames me if im anxious over something so im extra nervous about that. anyways, i’m terrified mainly bc i fear loss of control and having no way to get out. i don’t like that once you’re in the air you’re stuck there until you land, i always like knowing there’s a way out and since there’s not i’m scared. I am also scared bc ive heard oxygen levels are lower on a plane, i have a form of asthma and also have anxiety so that doesnt sound good to me lol
I'm so sorry that's your experience with flying. Hopefully some of these tips can help soothe your anxiety. Maybe there are some other solutions your doctor could recommend for you to help with your asthma. I'm sure there's a way to help so you can take the trips you dream about!
@@TheAbundantTraveler luckily it wasn’t too horrible! I ended up taking an anti anxiety supplement and the flight wasn’t too bad, thank you for these tips!
Hard to think of tour destination when you don't think you will make it there 😢 a panic struck person is real hard to distract...i spent a 6 hour flight in sheer panic and it was horrible...i need to be knocked out completely and stowed in with the luggage 😂
