  • I have a confession to make... I’ve traveled to every country in the world and I am still afraid of flying! If I can overcome my fear, so can you.
Air travel is the safest mode of transportation. If flying was dangerous, commercial pilots and flight attendants wouldn't want to work on planes every single day.
It's important to remember what is bringing you on this flight in the first place- you have a purpose and so much to look forward to on the other side of fear. I hope these tips help you overcome your fear of flying and help you get to where you need to go. You got this!

I'm still scared of flying and have flown on hundreds planes since I was 2yrs old (I'm now 40). I just face the fear each time and take slow deep breaths during turbulence. I try and sit near the wing as you feel more balanced in those seats

Perfect timing lol - I just had a flight with lots of turbulence and I’m kinda nervous going back on to get home. A few people got sick and my parents were stressed. The plane jolted left and dropped a few times. If anyone else is going through the same, know turbulence is normal and can’t truly be the thing that brings the plane down and if you start to get sick, take big deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. I started to feel sick after the second turbulent movement and that saved me. Love you all, flying is safe and let me tell you it is so worth it being here! 🤍
    UPDATE!
    Made it back alive!

I've traveled a lot and randomly became super anxious about flying a couple years ago. My main trick is, when I get nervous, I just tell myself, "right now, I am okay." And then I tell myself "I'll let myself be nervous when there's turbulence." and then when it comes, "it's ok, I'll let myself be nervous only when the pilot comes on and says we're going down." Another trick, if there's turbulence, just close your eyes and imagine you're on a train or bus, it feels the same.

I also developed panic attacks while flying after a bad experience. I underwent RMT therapy through my therapist, which is a form of hypnosis. I now have the tools to keep myself calm throughout a flight.

Another great video. Even though I've never rode on a plane, I'm afraid of heights myself (to some extent). I can't stand going on a roller coaster, but I can go on a tall building.

Great video topic! I always get a little nervous before getting on a flight. Turbulence and heights don't bother me, but I always get nervous to where I wonder if I will make it back alive. I travel quite a lot on planes, but I tend to have that feeling at times even though I know that car crashes happen much more often. I just need to keep thinking that every time!

I saw a good idea in the film triffids with eddie izzard.. The plane was on a slow descent, but was doomed to crash. Eddie izzards character stayed calm and proceeded to collect every life jacket from under as many seats as he could.. Locked himself within the confined space of the toilet.. Set off all the life jackets. The next scene is him crawling out of the wreckage.

I was sooo scared of flying to the point that I would just flat out cry.
Fast forward to today, I honestly love it! Headspace was a big part of my journey and it helped me use the above the clouds analogy to find my calm. It took a whole lot of visualization, and courage, but in the end, it was completely worth it.

Great job. I can definitely relate as well. I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world but I deal with anxiety is and control issues on airplanes. It’s seriously just glad to know i’m not alone. Sometimes I look around on the plane and it looks like everybody is so chill and I wonder if anybody else is struggling. Next flight for me is tomorrow morning.

Turbulence always gives me anxiety. If it makes anyone feel any better, I have family who worked in the airline industry for over four decades. They are now retired, so they've experienced it all. One of my family members was an aircraft mechanic and had to fly many times for work. He was on a flight where the wing of the plane was struck by lightning, and they still made a safe landing! Things like this rarely happen, but even if they do, thankfully the pilots are well trained to handle it!

Flying is not fun. I'm not afraid for bad things like crashes and stuff (driving a car is more dangerius) but I have the tendency to become air sick and you don't want that to go wrong. So I know use a pill especially on longer flights and then I'm fine.

for me its kind of simple, there is no point to worry because what happens wil happen you dont have much controle over this sort of thing, and i believe we go on after death so at worst youl have a annois 5-10 min and then youre outside of this realm on the other side whatever that means.
