She works as Business Development Associate in a Management Consulting Firm. She never claimed that she is a Management Consultant. So relax. May be you’re at fault in judging.
All of you guys who are judging her should also understand that most of you will not even make it to the interview for a BDA role in any Management Consulting Firm.
She should’ve said I work in BD - Sales, not management consulting. And not the “I got the role even though I don’t have an MBA” obfuscation.

Does cold calling... Sets up call/meetings for the seniors to take over. A management consultant is the one who manages the consulting project after its won. The interviewer has no idea himself what he is asking and what he is being told.

Because the explanation offered about the role itself made it clear the person is not a consultant but rather a Business Development professional. Everyone working in a management consulting firm is not a management consultant. There are business development folks, analysts, associates, client services, operations etc. Cheers

@@a.j.8120 she was enjoying initially that she was being referred to as management consultant but deep down she knew she wasn't one. By the way, this is not to say business development or sales is inferior...after all without them bringing leads and business... What projects would MC work on? Its just that an MC is perceived to be fancy because they work hand in hand with top stakeholders at very large client organisations.

Management Consultant earn around 15 Lacs per annum after MBA. Without an MBA a fresher management consultant doesn't exist ! So after 7- 10 yrs of work ex, with excellent luck and hard work, a non-MBA man-consultant would earn 11-15 Lacs per annum !
