- I purchased an FMK (For My Kountry) 9C1G2 from Turner's on sale for $260.00! It was a great deal that I couldn't pass up, and I also wanted to try and test it out for myself. I have shot 1,000 rounds of new 115/124 grain 9MM and witnessed only 12 failures. I am convinced that this FMK is a good option for anyone on a budget. FMK is also proudly manufactured in Placentia, CA. As a resident of Orange County I wanted to support this local business. Always make sure your firearm is unloaded prior to any modifications!

100 percent agree!!! I remember the first time I put one in my hand, absolutely loved it and bought one. Even rotate it in my EDC. Great value for anyone looking to get into 9mm pistol carry. Dig your content too,,,, 👍🏻
Thank you for the support!
Awesome! What holster do you use or recommend I look into?
Despite all the negative reviews, I did buy the FMK as a truck gun. Something I wouldn't have to fuss about sitting under the seat. But you know what I like about it that everyone hates? The double action only trigger (CA only)! It makes the gun very safe and can double strike a squib primer. Anyone that shoots a revolver using DA can be very comfortable with the FMK (CA only).
I appreciate your feedback from your personal experience with FMK. As someone who lives in California, I can agree that the DAO trigger isn't that bad if you train with it.
Just saw video today. Had mine for about 3 yrs. put over 1000 rds of every type ammo, brass steel and reloads. I have not had one misfire or jam. Ate every kind I put through. Don`t know why people hate on this gun love mine and glad I purchased !
Just got one waiting for me on the 17th. What holster do you recommend?
Thank you for sharing your personal experience.
What type of ammo do you use for your Fmk
@@smoke_oguwop I have used Blazer, Federal and Magtech.
My first 20 rounds I put through this gun I probably had about eight failures to eject and double feeds. The next 50 rounds it ran a lot better. Recently I polished the chamber and the feed ramp, I sanded away the finish on the extractor so that it will move more freely, and I also sanded the finish off the little trigger housing tab that the rear of the slide rides on. I can't wait to take this gun to the range I have a feeling it's going to run reliably with no issues.
Phoenix Arms is in Cali still making good guns.
Thanks for sharing!
What I did was disassemble the mag lightly oil the spring and if your using oil in your gun try a light coat of high temp grease and give it a good 100-200 dry slide racks (no mag) then go shoot the point is to get the internal properly lubricated and work that recoil spring your basically hand breaking the gun in so when you go to shoot it runs like butter I’ve tried everything fmk says the gun doesn’t like except reloads but I’m whatever about reloads if you buy them
Thank you for sharing this information.
@@ElevatedFirepower Forgot to mention that my FMK in the beginning first 5 shots I had two failure to eject and one light primer strike after those 3 and understanding how to hold the gun properly and properly clean and lubricate it I personally believe this is a grease loving gun cause ever since I switched to grease instead of oil it runs 10x better but it can also be my Local Weather and Geographical region which is more dry and more heat so oil tends to run or simply evaporates
@@ElevatedFirepower also forgot to mention Taurus G2-G3 mags are the same as FMK mags with slight modifications the mag catch and try to find some without the flared mag lip my FMK mags fit in a Taurus but vice versa they won’t because of those two things catch and flared mag lip I don’t see why one would fit and not the other
@@riskydabs3710 Thanks for sharing!
What type of grease did you use or can I just use automotive red grease
I got one, its super accurate and mine came with the upgraded trigger. The first hundred rounds i had a few failures but the last fifty shot really good. I think this pistol likes 124 grain. I got mine for 200 plus tax. For the price this pistol is pretty good after you shoot a hundred rounds.
Thank you for sharing some insight into your personal experience with FMK.
I have put probably just over 200 rounds through my FMK 9C1 G2, and last time I shot it a week ago, the rounds were keyholing, or tumbling sideways. This was very disappointing since I had previously had no problems. Hoping the barrel just needed a deep clean, which I did now, if not hopefully warranty will cover it. I love the ergonomics and everything else about the gun, so it is just a bummer to have this problem so early in ownership.
I was looking at picking one of these up. I don't mind the break in period because I am a first time gun buyer and plan on getting a lot of practice in at the range with the firearm once I purchase. Good thing is that 9mm isn't too expensive either.
Practice is the key to getting comfortable with your weapon and learning how to properly use it. Best of luck!
I'm glad I came up on your video. Just picked it up because of the price. I haven't taken it to the range yet and it managed to fail 100% with snap caps. I'll feed some rounds through this, hoping it'll break in and improve. Thank you again for your info! 😊
@@otacon127 Congrats on your firearm purchase! Give us some feedback once you hit up the range.
@@ElevatedFirepower I ended up getting this an the Springfield XD. Both feel very different to shoot and the XD has been ultra reliable where as this one not so much but then again I haven't put more than 100 rounds through it yet. Might not be the best for personal defense but its better than nothing
@@drewber2006 Did you purchase at Turners? They have a great deal on the XD 9MM for $339.86 for their 2024 Holiday Sale. I own a Subcompact XD and it is a great firearm, I've never had any issues with it. I think the FMK is a good budget gun and it is better than nothing at all. If it continues having issues reach out to FMK for some assistance. Thank you for the feedback.
You can modify XD9 magazines with a Dremel and they fit and feed they just stick out a bit if you want some range magazines I don't recommend for carry though. But they do function I made three
Good to know, thanks!
Just purchased mines last Saturday, it was $280 out from Rifle Supply in Huntington Beach, CA, look forward to picking it up
Awesome! Rifle Supply is one of my favorite spots in OC.
@@ElevatedFirepower I’m already addicted to their website and seeing what’s for sale and making calculations on how many guns will be purchased before the end of year 😆
@@Freedomwarriors0 I hear that bro! The cool thing is that they offer rewards points for every dollar spent. Rifle Supply has the lowest prices on Glocks and other items.
@@ElevatedFirepower I agree they also build their custom rifles and sell them every month, there’s one in the store for $880, cant remember name AR style, optics and other features they added
I saw this comment and went on their website and ordered my fmk. I pick it up next week. I put in the coupon code and got $20 off. Good looking out
For drop free mag ability remove spring only from behind mag disconnect put everything back in place. Hope this helps.
I appreciate the insight and I will be trying this on my FMK.
When I installed the 804 trigger, the mags dropped free without issue.
@@halweiss8671 The advice from
@familiagonzalez0 also worked out great.
I purchased this gun had a case and 2 magazines for $350 out the door., new trigger $60
Sounds like a good deal!
That's alot of work to get the gun to go bang. But, to each his own. Good luck with that. 😊
Agreed, yet everyone’s budget is different. Thanks for watching!
That is, mine is fine luckily. It shoots great with no issues
Phoenix Arms is also located in CA.
Correct, I appreciate the update.
But they have limited firearms for the Roster especially for Californians.
And you don't want to go with them for a small ass Calibers. Hahaha.
I am waiting for the FMK G3 to be on our roster.
An optic ready slide is a nice upgrade!
@@ElevatedFirepower well I pulled the trigger on the FMK C1-G2. Had to beat the June 20th deadline of the 11% extra Cali TAX starting July 1st. What holster do you use? Aggressive Concealment makes 3 options. Freedom Rings June 17th / pick up date.
@@comeoncents3288 Congrats! I honestly just have a generic pistol holster for it at the moment. Give us a follow up, once you get to fire some rounds through it.
@@ElevatedFirepower if the holster does its job then that works great. The FMK feels comfortable in the hand and I will send an update once I can get some rounds down range.
Yup. I email them and they are really trying their best to get it. But won't be anytime soon. Best bet is 2025. 🤞
Great insight on this pistol. What grip tape is that?
I purchased through eBay for $8.00 : Caloosa 2 Pieces of Rubber Gun Pistol Grip Tape Material 4" x 8". I have a video on the process I use: studio.ruclips.net/user/videos58RsOFPpRo/edit
I’m new to this, just got this pistol a few days ago. What do you guys mean by failures? Like the round won’t fire? Do you take it out and throw the round away? I’m a rookie
Generally a failure is when the gun doesn't cycle the round correctly. An example is FTE (Failure to Eject) a malfunction in a handgun where a spent cartridge casing fails to be properly ejected from the firearm after firing. A stovepipe is when a spent casing gets caught in the action and the firearm's action can no longer cycle. There is also a double feed, when two rounds try to enter the chamber at the same time. Another FMK issue that I read about was the slide not going into battery after firing a round. I hope this helps point you in the right direction. I recommend searching common gun malfunctions to get a visual.
@@ElevatedFirepower thank you so very much!! Appreciate the response!!!
What kinda sights do you have.
I have a HIVIZ LITEWAVE Front Handgun Sight for Glock GL2014, cost about $25.00
@@ElevatedFirepower are you using the oem rear sight or what type would you recommend I appreciate your video comments and video has tons of info and making me really appreciate the gun more
@@smoke_oguwop I kept the OEM rear sight and blacked out the white portion with a black erasable marker. It helps me focus more efficiently on the front sight.
@@ElevatedFirepower hmm I’ll try that out as well I appreciate your input and info brother
@@ElevatedFirepower Have you tried swapping the guide rod with a Glock 19 stainless steel one I saw they’re interchangeable and nice upgrade over the plastic one there’s only one video and the guy doesn’t say much in his 2 min video but It does work
Where did you get the front site?
I purchased it on Amazon, you can search: HIVIZ GL2014 Glock Interchangeable LITEWAVE Front Handgun Sight
What Glock Hi-Viz sights
are compatible with it? I am interested to upgrade the front sight upgrade
It is my understanding that any Glock 19 sights (front/rear) should work with this FMK 9MM.
@@ElevatedFirepower thank you!
Can you explain how you bought It without tax?
When I added the FMK to the cart on Turners website, it didn't add tax when I checked out. I'm not sure if it was a promotion or a glitch.
Any holsters that you can recommend?
I use a generic soft material holster that I purchased from Amazon. You may want to check out fmkfirearms.com/ website!
What sight did you put on the front?
It is a HIVIZ LITEWAVE GL2014 Glock interchangeable front sight.
The magazines are metal not plastic.
Correct.
Any updates how’s the gun holding up
Last time I took it to the range was in January.
@@ElevatedFirepower can you do a update when you take it out next time I like your video on the Fmk very informative
What brand of ammo are you using?
I used mostly Blazer 115 grain & 124 grain, Federal 115 grain, and I also tried 50 rounds of Federal Syntech.
@@ElevatedFirepower thanks
For the info. I’ve been running Remington UMC and it cycles perfectly. It’s what the company recommends but I’ve been looking into using other brands
This is a poorly made gun. The price should be the tailing tail. The reason guns are price high is the craftsmanship and reliability. Les Brown, Sam Colt, HK, Staccato ,etc... will never sell a gun under $400. I bought this gun for fun at the range, not for self defense. I had too change the trigger to the single action and the guide rod too a Tungsten one. Much better for the range. I have a Colt 45acp for self defense but the 45acp is too expensive to shot at the range. Please don't buy this gun for self defense, only for fun at the range.
I appreciate the feedback and honest review.
Still doesn’t go into battery for me… unreliable
I appreciate the feedback. Did you reach out to FMK?
Yes, so far I replaced the leaf spring and the slide spring… no effects on the failure. I guess I need to send them the pistol to see what they can do. It is a wide spread issue that lots of owners experience, but no source of failure has been found. Also sent hundreds of rounds down range but still fails… if anyone reading this has any info, I’d really appreciate it!
American made is crap we cant manufacture quality anymore. That polymer looks cheap and unfinished. Just looks kinda poorly manufactured. The recoil spring looks too loose.
I appreciate your honesty and feedback.
Lost me with California….nope
Haha, ok get lost then!
About 800 rounds in mine haven’t had 1 jam, the upgraded trigger is a must tho the regular trigger is horrible lmao
Good to hear the FMK 9MM is working well for you! Thanks for the feedback and support.
