I'm in your audience and I'm almost 62. At 16 I had a dodge challenger '72. I wasn't silly enough to run from the cops. That came later mostly on bikes, still crazy. No one realizes how nervous you are when you do this. You're gonna make a mistake. I remember running from the cops on a bike, getting away, getting off the bike and was so nervous and shaking that I fell down. IJS.

Michigander here, and Detroit PD doesn't care, so it had to be MSP. As soon as I saw the hood of the pursuit vehicle it confirmed my conjecture. Michigan State Police have a sign on their hood that says STOP. You can see it in your video.

That’s state boyzz, you can tell by the STOP bar on the hood (they still sport the single red bubble light on top too, no light bars). This is a section of 696 under construction, down to 2 lanes from 4-5, a pretty dangerous hwy, construction or not. It’s my commute to work, 1 day a week in office, and if you’re not going 80-85+ you’re bout to get run over, which I’m cool with as long as everybody behaves and those who don’t wanna play stay out of the fast lane.

I live next to 696 and I can tell you right now It's a race track even under construction lmfao!!! Even at night time it'll be 3:00 a.m. and all you hear is hellcats doing 180! I love my city. You very rarely find somebody going under the speed limit.
I would love to have a challenger scat pack myself. But this is why I will probably never own one. They are way too easy to steal and insurance companies know that. These type of accidents are making insurance premiums really skyrocket.
Get a Shelby Cobra. You won't regret it. I'm not even a ford guy but these chargers and challengers are too much of a risk. I'm trading mines in for one by the end of this year, hopefully.

@Jevonechy I don't disagree with what you say, but I hope you realize that Shelbys are a target as well. Camaros, Vettes, BMWs, etc, are stolen. They just don't get the bad press like the Mopars. I keep my two Challengers in a garage. I have never had a problem, but I live in a really nice area, so I consider myself lucky. I also don't have a Hellcat or Scat either, just 5.7 RT, so I'm less likely to have problems. With that, there is no way I am giving it up unless it's another Challenger replacing it. I'll take that chance.

I696 is like 10 miles north of Detroit...its 8 lanes wide, eastbound is shut down completely. Michiganders call this time of year the 5th season...Construction Season, they are 2 months in on completely rebuilding i696 in both directions. Construction is hoping to be done before next winter around November.

That’s Michigan State Police.. whenever you see that center STOP plaque that’s on the hood those are state police. I believe that’s in Royal Oak Mi. At 2:13 that’s Farmington Hills Mi. Not that far from the Detroit city limits.

I'm from Detroit and 696 doesn't run through the city of Detroit. But since I know exactly where this is he was in Farmington hills the orchard lake Rd exit is right into Farmington hills. But I hope this young man will get his life together but if he had no direction in life we don't know what the deal is. There are several channels making $ over the doom and gloom of Chargers, Challengers, 300's not selling and being poor investments. But production ended and they are being stolen and crashed, or parted out. I realize these cars are not usually driven in winter (like we did, like idiots, years ago), but when prices drop and the lots are empty next year, slowly they'll disappear. Between theft, floods and accidents I don't see the good ones getting cheap.

Michigan state police and 696 doesn't run through Detroit. Farmington Hills is a north of Detroit. Also that's a not two lane highway it's a construction zone.
