Yeah it's pretty much like a rat. I mean I found this one for 20 bucks and then I paid like eight bucks shipping and I was like I like the design of it. Like it might be a better Bass Distortion that I might use and I'll explore that later on I'm trying to discover why my fucking Fender precision bass is sort of fucking shit out on one of the pickups. Because it's not the input like I thought it was
@@_-Unity-_ I am in a standard. As far as string gauge for bass I think that my Fender P bass has a 160 for the lowest. It's been a minute since I've replaced it because I don't replace my strings as often as most people do just because I go back and forth through so many guitars and bases so I think the last time I replace them was last year but there's something fucking up with my pickup obviously. I also I know you can go further but I like a little bit of looseness you know a little bit of flop so to say with my strings. Like I want them to kind of reverberate a little bit more than just like a tight response

Sounds so nasty both in just the raw camera audio and in the mix with a mic on it. I bet adding some of that raw camera audio or a room mic in the mix version would just absolutely destroy. I gotta add this pedal to my gear list haha
It should be pretty easy to find on ebay. I did someone was selling one on fb market and I just went to ebay instead because I rather deal with that than some scum. and you are right blending with a room mic would probably make it more awesome. I def need to start messing around with that more. One of my friends I was in a band with for years who still plays and records was all about the recording aspect but has gotten more anal about it instead of my approach of one two lets go.
@@ShaolinLambKiller yeah I imagine online is probably the best place rather than dealing with marketplace. I don't even like having to sell stuff on there lol. I've been getting more into the room mic thing recently, for most of my stuff a close mic or IR is too clean and direct sounding and I've been trying to recapture the vibe of my old phone recordings because they just had more wall of sound type quality even though they aren't as in your face. I like the one two let's go approach as well lately I'm just doing a single mono guitar with thick distortion and I switched to a drum machine that lets you just have a solo room mic which gets that sound more like it was recorded in a garage or practice room. Sometimes just a hint of distortion like a rat on the drums too can be cool if you want it real gritty but it can thin it out too much sometimes. It's not perfect but until I get a real kit and more space I'm pretty happy with it
@@whyismyeyetwitching there's nothing wrong with that I saw vital remains performing using 810 cabs I have also been a big fan of when I actually did go play live when I was playing guitar always had a 412 and at 2:15 cab for that low end crunch. And then with a lot of my bands where I was drumming and we were virtually a trio with no bass player that's what my guitarists did as well. And what some people don't realize or like nobody's ever asked but a lot of times when I record nasty distorted bass I actually just run a guitar head on a regular well my 612 cab. That Distortion just translates better in a recording that way like I would never do that live trying to do that and then you have to of course be pushing a hell of a lot more wattage

Youre in A standard here right? Any recommendations for string gauge for A standard on bass? I have a squire pbass but no amp yet..sadly
