- On this episode of Sip Life, I sip on Del Maguey Vida Mezcal! Grab yourself some mezcal and pour yourself a glass to sip on while I review and talk about the aroma and flavor profile of this agave spirit.
👀 How it Looks: Clear and colorless

👃 How does it Smell: It was light in intensity with aromas of agave, sweet, and smoky

🤤 How does it Taste: Dry and a texture of smooth and slightly warming with a medium intensity. On the palate I picked up pepper, agave, smoke, and citrus

📝 Instructions
1-1⁄2 ounces Del Maguey Vida Single Village Mezcal
3⁄4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
3⁄4 ounce strawberry shrub (recipe below)
1⁄4 ounce Demerara syrup (recipe below)
1 lime wheel, for garnish
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Combine the mezcal, lime juice, strawberry shrub, and Demerara syrup in a highball glass.
2️⃣ Fill it two-thirds of the way with crushed ice and swizzle like you mean it.
3️⃣ The glass should frost up. Add more crushed ice, rounding out the top.
4️⃣ Garnish with the lime wheel.

📝 Instructions
30ml Del Maguey Vida mezcal
20ml blanco tequila
10ml agave syrup
15ml lime juice
5 fresh raspberries
1 sprig thyme, plus 1 to garnish
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice.
2️⃣ Shake hard to combine and ensure the raspberries break up.
3️⃣ Fine strain into a martini glass or coupette, and garnish with a sprig of thyme, attaching with a mini peg if you have one.

First and only Mezcal I have tried, won't be the last. I like it for sipping, I like smoky flavors, and the taste is different than tequila which is a nice change of pace.
Both, sip and cocktail, perfect in a Oaxaca old fashioned .
This mezcal is amazing its a sipper in my book.
This was the 1st time i tried mezcal, & i liked sipping on it, But i do like really smoky drinks. Will definetly look into using it in a cocktail. Cool video homie.
💯 at the price point it’s definitely cool to use for cocktails. When you starting getting into some of the more mature expressions then you really have to slow down to enjoy the heat, complexity, and high abv that comes with sipping on Mezcal!

Mezcal old fashion
Do you like a lot of smoke in your cocktail or a mezcal that is a little lighter in smoke?
Like it says on the bottle, mezcal is for sipping not shots, its a sipper. good stuff.

Recently tried this at my local Mexican food establishment. The owner is from Oaxaca so is always promoting Mezcals. Ok I get finding smokey drinks interesting but this one tasted like a rubber tire smells with hints of diesel! Not a mixer, not a sipper, this is a skipper.
Thought I was the only one who caught this. My bottle smells like rubber bands and packing material. Just blew $45
