  • Earlier this year I was blessed with the opportunity to be present with the Cortes family for the making of their 2017 Mezcal Pechuga (bottled under El Jolgorio Pechuga). While I was very familiar with their Pechuga and Pechugas in general I had never see the entire process in person and with many things, seeing is understanding. It was one of the warmest most genuine experience I've had during my many ventures in mezcal country.
Pechugas are as sacred as they are celebratory. Typically produced for special occasions: wedding, births, funerals, Dia de Muertos and of course Christmas.
So today, on a day when I know the Cortes family will be sharing this exact mezcal with friends and family I am pleased to share with all of you a short film a made during my visit.
    Dixeebe!

Thanks John. That was probably the first Pechuga I ever had many years ago. It is also quite good.

Nadie como un Xhunko para chorear y mistificar el mugrero. Pure liars!
