I'm a lifetime Texas Longhorn... But, I absolutely have deep respect and admiration for Texas A&M University, it's a wonderful institution with great people... And always loved The Fight'n Texas Aggie Band... (forgive me if I said it wrong) ...this song "Noble Men Of Kyle" and the theme from "Patton" are my all-time favorites. I always looked forward to hearing them when attending Aggie Longhorn Game
We played this and March Grandioso in band to keep both sides content. Like you, a lifetime Longhorn fan and enjoyed NMoK over MG. 58 and can still play the drum solo.
This piece was written by Col. Joe Tom Haney, former director of the Aggie Band, while he was still a high school band director. It was introduced to the Aggie Band during my senior year '73, at which time Joe Haney was introduced as the heir to Col. Adams. It's a great piece and a tribute to the large brassy sound of the Aggie Band. Col. Haney is now in the sunset years of his life, but Noble Men of Kyle will outlive us all. Gig 'Em! BTHO ASU!
@trentonfeverston2773I play the drums at Fairfield and we were the fist high school to march to this song so many years ago. It has become a tradition at our school.
I'm in the Aggie Band right now, Class of 2017. We had to wake up to this being blasted out of four loudspeakers right out of our doors. I still get chills from this piece, even if they stopped doing it weeks ago. Nothing says fear/intensity like hearing this blasted outside of your door at 4:30 in the morning while getting screamed at by too many sophomores.
Hate Texas A&M more than anything on earth. But there’s something about hearing this playing them on college football and knowing I’m not stopping them that drive😂
Holy shit. I love my Michigan Wolverines Marching Band and I'm living in Stillwater now. Wife converted me to an OSU fan as she's an alum. Both schools have fantastic bands. Never knew much about the Texas A&M Band. I read into it and it's very impressive. This is my favorite piece of theirs. Seriously, great job it sounds... powerful.
1:24-1:29 best part of the song...I remember being little and my dad having this on cassette player. He always had to replay this part over and over in the truck :) Thanks for being an Aggie, dad :)
Sadly, A&M doesn't offer my intended major, so I won't be going there. But who cares? It's still the best damn university on the planet. And that's not opinion, that's fact. Figured out how to play this march on my alto sax, and now I play it every day in the band hall during advisory. It is my absolute favorite march ever. And remember - you can't spell "stupid" without "t.u." Gig 'em Aggies! Whoop!
Ladies and Gentlemen.....Now forming at the north end of Kyle Field....the fightin' Texas Aggie Band....... personal note..........can you really improve on that?
I'm a lifetime Texas Longhorn...

Salute to Colonel Tom Haney!

This is as far as I'm concerned the best marching band song out there ever, and I've listened to many bands over the years.👍
Aggie Band plays the best songs, they always win halftime. That's why there called the Fightin Texas Aggie Band!! Whoop.

One of greatest military marches of the 20th century. Thank you Col. Joe T. Haney.
THIS should be our National Anthem. No words save the title.
This was my favorite thing to play in the Aggie Band. Best song ever. I loved this and the Ballad of the Green Berets. I still have the sheet music.
I am only 13. But I love the Texas Aggies. And convenient enough, my name is Kyle.
Kyle Rayburn you must be a very noble man now Kyle 😉

Gotta love The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band!
Hate Texas A&M more than anything on earth. But there’s something about hearing this playing them on college football and knowing I’m not stopping them that drive😂
I remember having to play this for an armed forces day parade and we marched it once....three years and I still remember this.....I love it though!

most catchy song. Roll tide
SO THAT'S WHAT THIS PIECE IS CALLED!
this is probably my favorite aggies song
gives me goosebumps everytime
This song continues to bring a small tear to my eye just as it did '83 during march-in past the C for the UH game.
Awesome!!!
This is THE best song the Aggie band plays!
Better than the "War Hymn"--"Noble Men of Kyle" no words--marching in, heads high and proud, and leaving a legacy.
Kyle, Texas is my father in law's home town. I'm curious whether this piece is referring to that, or something else entirely. Anyone know?
Col.haneys song refers to the athletics director Edwin Jackson Kyle, 1904, who the field was named unofficially by the students in 1908.
YAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAY A&m all the way ....... im going to be in the Texas aggie fighting band next year i play piccolo wooot

Nothing sux like a Big Orange.
Ladies and Gentlemen.....Now forming at the north end of Kyle Field....the fightin' Texas Aggie Band.......
